Is there a mod like this but for warriors?
PizzaPat 11. sep. 2024 kl. 19:08
This still works :)
HaziTru 8. nov. 2023 kl. 14:34

This can change an anger game into a fun game. Good fix!

This mod still works, thanks!
Royal Raven 6. mar. 2021 kl. 11:54
Anyone using this in recent FP stuff and patches? Does this still work?
Lord Of the flies 14. aug. 2020 kl. 13:27
does this mod still work , looks promising

Thanks dude ! :)

I'm really enjoying this mod on Immortal, but as i understand it the AI gets 1 extra settler on Deity with this? The early game forward settling grinds my gears so i wouldn't mind if Deity also only gets 1.

Much appreciated Magma!

mods no longer load after references DLC in Gathering Storm, so I gave the update action a load order of 2147483647
I did a quick test and it works again
Monado 26. juni 2019 kl. 9:52
This doesn't seem to be working for me again unfortunately. Using just this mod, and one that reveals the entire map, including enemy units, the AI will have 2 settlers to start the game.

It don't work no more like the others say :-( Great mod before tho! Great idea.
Erebos 22. maj 2019 kl. 13:58
Yes, non GS civs are affected also Screenshot [i.imgur.com].
alvarocablor 10. maj 2019 kl. 12:17
As Erebos a few comments ago, I confirm that it does not work (at least for me) in Inmortal nor Deity. I do not attach Screenshot, sorry, but I tested it.
Vasco Da Llama 10. maj 2019 kl. 8:05
Are non-GS civs also still getting free settlers too? Dunno how the coding is done but maybe it's just missing for the new civs?
Erebos 9. maj 2019 kl. 15:34
I can confirm that it does NOT work on Emperor, GS enabled, AI receive multiple units: Screenshot from turn 2 (Game copied to multiplayer and swapped to AI player [i.imgur.com]
Magma Dragoon  [ophavsmand] 5. maj 2019 kl. 14:23
It's not doing that for me, but I don't have GS. Look in modding.log, is the mod being activated? Is some piece of DLC being activated after this mod? Is there an error in database.log when activating the mod?
Richard 4. maj 2019 kl. 1:28
Difficulty was Immortal.
Magma Dragoon  [ophavsmand] 28. apr. 2019 kl. 17:39
What difficulty? They still get an extra settler on deity.
Richard 27. apr. 2019 kl. 9:48
Mod still does not work for me. Tested with only this mod activated and using the debug panel to reveal the map on turn 1. AI civs still get an extra free settler after settling their first city. I'm playing with both Rise and Fall and Gathering Storm.
Vasco Da Llama 24. apr. 2019 kl. 4:08
Hey @jonpohlhammer I just did a test myself and it seems to be working. Did you use FireTuner to check if the AI was spawning in settlers or did you just play the game normally? Also, what turn did you meet the civs? It's plausible they just rushed a settler if it was like Turn 12 or something.
bjornpohlhammer 23. apr. 2019 kl. 16:20
Mod wasn't working, so I tried your latest instructions; "delete modding.log and database.log in Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\Logs\
start a new game with the mod enabled", but still AI all had 2 cities down before I could meet them. Duel map size, 4 Civs, only other mod activated was Advanced Mod Manager.

Any advice is welcome. Would love to enjoy this mod.
Vasco Da Llama 16. apr. 2019 kl. 4:46
Sweet, it seems to be working as intended now. Have to play a couple more games to be sure but thanks for having a look!
Magma Dragoon  [ophavsmand] 15. apr. 2019 kl. 18:50
Yeah it was fucked up, should be good now
Vasco Da Llama 15. apr. 2019 kl. 10:11
Okay this is from a game I just started now. Emperor, Duel Map with 4 Players, Pangea. I played 10 turns and then copied the files into the pastebin. Met Macedon with his second settler around Turn 5.

Magma Dragoon  [ophavsmand] 15. apr. 2019 kl. 9:24
delete modding.log and database.log in Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\Logs\
start a new game with the mod enabled, this will create a fresh copy of both files
post results
Vasco Da Llama 15. apr. 2019 kl. 5:42
Erm, be more specific please. Do you want those files during or after a game? I assume you mean the ones in the Documents folder.
Magma Dragoon  [ophavsmand] 14. apr. 2019 kl. 15:49
put modding.log and database.log into pastebin
AriKaur24 13. apr. 2019 kl. 19:51
yeah I just got this and it does not work it needs to be fix if not back to king
Vasco Da Llama 12. apr. 2019 kl. 7:50
Nope, sadly the AI still gains a free settler (and I just realised also a free builder) upon settling their first city.
Vasco Da Llama 12. apr. 2019 kl. 7:33
I general use several mods, yes, but all testing was done with only this mod enabled.
I mean, the last thing I could try is deleting the mod again and reinstalling and see if that helps.
Magma Dragoon  [ophavsmand] 11. apr. 2019 kl. 19:47
I tried playing a few turns on immortal and no AIs got free settlers on turn 2 or 3, but on deity they receive a free one on turn 2. Do you have another mod that could be overriding the major civ free unit entries?

I also don't have GS yet, so that isn't the issue.
Vasco Da Llama 9. apr. 2019 kl. 11:58
I hope this is enough proof for you to have another look yourself, because I'm not the only one with this problem. Just because it works on your machine, doesn't mean it works on everyone's.

And to be fair, I subscribed to this mod ages ago but disabled it soon after, when I noticed it wasn't working, so this isn't a 'new' issue caused by the latest patch.
Vasco Da Llama 9. apr. 2019 kl. 11:57
Look, I'm only trying to help you here, because your mod just isn't working at the moment. Maybe try seeing things from another perspective instead of being stubborn.

I used the Firetuner Map and Unit panels to check the game, and I'm surprised you didn't notice this yourself during testing but the following was observed (tested on Emperor difficulty):

While you are right that all Civs only have 1 Settler on Turn 0, the moment they settle their city, they get a free settler in their city. I tested this on a map with 3 AI Civs and literally every single one got a free settler when they settled their first city. I revealed the whole map to watch each Civ individually and, no, none of their 3 warriors had acquired a goody hut.

Rome settled on Turn 0 and immediately got a free settler. Same for Zulu. Netherlands actually moved their settler and settled on Turn 1 and they still got a free settler the moment their city plopped .
Magma Dragoon  [ophavsmand] 8. apr. 2019 kl. 19:40
Works On My Machine™

Game state at turn 3 isn't proof of anything. Open the firetuner units panel at turn 1, also please ensure you enabled the mod.
Vasco Da Llama 7. apr. 2019 kl. 7:42
Mate, I don't know how often I have to repeat this to you, but it's not working.
Two-player game, me as England and AI as Scotland. I meet them on Turn 2, have view of their cap on Turn 3 and they have a settler in their city . There's no way that's some goody hut BS.

I had previously tested only on Immortal difficulty, so I loaded up a a few games on Emperor with and without R+F DLC enabled and started up FireTuner. I revealed the map and reviewed the units list, and found all AIs started with a single settler, as expected. If you download the Civ 6 modding SDK from Library > Tools you can do the same. You could reveal the map and check turn by to study gold reserves, city production queues, and watch them pop huts to study how they are getting their cities out fast. I believe the AIs have Chieftain hut loot tables on all difficulties, so it is plausible that every AI gets at least one settler from a hut.

Vasco Da Llama 3. apr. 2019 kl. 7:00
Just tested this on a simple duel map with one AI. They had a second city the moment I met them so I'm afraid the mod isn't working as intended (at least for R&F)
Vasco Da Llama 3. apr. 2019 kl. 6:31
Although to be fair, I only have R&F, not GS yet
Vasco Da Llama 3. apr. 2019 kl. 6:30
I too, can confirm that the mod isn't working. Emperor game and all civs around me have 2 cities within a couple turns. Can't say they all got them from huts...
Magma Dragoon  [ophavsmand] 26. mar. 2019 kl. 11:11
I tested with firetuner on immortal and everybody had one settler. IIRC AIs can get settlers from huts on all difficulties.
Flamestalker 25. mar. 2019 kl. 11:04
The mod doesn't seem to be working, I found Brazil with a second city on turn 5 on Emperor.
Is it working for other people?
Monado 17. mar. 2019 kl. 11:44
Awesome. Thanks for "updating" it . The early game is so much more enjoyable with this working again.
Magma Dragoon  [ophavsmand] 16. mar. 2019 kl. 18:00
I've """updated""" it, but nothing actually changed. Firaxis added a new mod compatible version property that has to be manually added to the .modinfo file. If steam is being finicky and not downloading the new version just suppress the compatibility warning.
Jauqee 26. feb. 2019 kl. 20:53
GS update would be awesome.
(WER) Von otto 22. feb. 2019 kl. 8:56
yes please update for GS, that would be awsome. this and RED troops, best mods for the game
Monado 21. feb. 2019 kl. 12:33
Thanks for the situation update Magma. This mod of yours has been one of my cores, that I never turn off
