Please update it
Shyning 9. apr. 2021 kl. 9:27
Last updated in 2017, give it up.
Too many patches and DLCs since then, not sure if the author is still around/willing to do it.
Ramon 8. apr. 2021 kl. 20:07
It does not display civilization in the selection. Needs to be updated!
the-twist 7. apr. 2021 kl. 0:43

One of my favorit civ. I hope there will be TSL one day.
Baleur 6. jan. 2018 kl. 6:45
Working? Because i noticed it hasnt been updated after Nov 24, when most leader mods stopped working if not updated.
NAPOLEON 1. dec. 2017 kl. 10:43
this mod needs TSL on YNAMP
axatoramus 10. aug. 2017 kl. 17:48
YnAEMP?
releasedaboar 4. juni 2017 kl. 16:30
Come on, Bryce. There are a lot more important problems than Sri Lanka to worry about.
zebenji 3. juni 2017 kl. 9:40
Is there any way we can localize the text? I've done it with XML files but I admit I don't really know how to do it with SQL files. :/
Norton 24. maj 2017 kl. 21:52
I never asked, and I'm sorry if it was already asked. Do you plan any alternate leaders for Sri Lanka?
RFormica 22. maj 2017 kl. 18:02
Does this mod have YnAEMP support?
spazzrights 14. maj 2017 kl. 12:51
@Caligula If you google Parakramabahu the agenda really fits him.
Caligula 5. maj 2017 kl. 17:53
so...you just ripped the exploitative agenta out of the agenda docuent and glued it onto a civ...
imean,i expected it from one of those cheap, derp civ makers that make a capitalist civ,but from YOU? :(
blkbutterfly 24. apr. 2017 kl. 14:48
@Leon Exactly. His actual quote is "අහසින් වැ‍ටෙන එක් දිය බිඳුවක්වත් මිනිසාගේ ප්‍රයෝජනයට නොගෙන මුහුදට එක් වීමට ඉඩ නොදිය යුතුය" which is both lost in translation and completely misinterpreted.

Bsically he says not a drop of water that falls from the sky should be wasted. Not over exploitation. That happened thanks to coloniaism. FYI Sri Lanka is now suffering its worst drought in recorded history.

Also Sri Lanka is sanctuary for both Leopard and Elephant, in part due to the numerous National Parks. Ironic. So this mod agenda is completely upside down :steamfacepalm:

If you look at a map of Sri Lanka, you will notice the dry lowlands are littered with hundreds of lakes. They are not natural. They were all constructed by the agrarian civilization that flourished there.

These lakes have been in use for agriculture for about two millenia.

There is a great map that illustrates this here.

http://iucnsrilanka.org/Kapiriggama/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Irrigation-tanks-of-Sri-Lanka.jpg

While the highlands and the southwest of the island is very wet and has many rivers, it was also largely inhospitable due to the very thick jungle and associated problems such as malaria (these harsh conditions also kept European colonials at bay for a few centuries).

Rulers like Parakramabahu realised that they people could farm the dry zone very effectively if the water from the Monsoon rains and the flow from the mountains could be stored as a reliable stock for growing seasons.

If you have any mods that affect policies or governments enabled, they're more likely to be the source of the problem than this mod, I'm afraid :/
mcwalco 17. apr. 2017 kl. 1:38
Had a number enabled and now had it happen again ..hard to work out what one tho mostly only got yours tho had to drop a few from others like Empress Wu one and otheers.
Senshi  [ophavsmand] 16. apr. 2017 kl. 18:22
Was Sri Lanka the only mod you had enabled? There's nothing in it that should affect policies in any way.
mcwalco 16. apr. 2017 kl. 9:24
Whent to change to a new government first one after cheifdom ..applied the policies and it would not aaccept it just sat on ..you have new gov to switch to thing inbottom right but wouldnt let me switch .No way to continuse game at that point :(
blkbutterfly 13. apr. 2017 kl. 10:32
@Firebug TBH there isn't anything of interest in this mod to me. Not the leaderhead. The UU is the Varu's. No UI art. IDK what on earth "Aetaruva" is?! Google translate? :steamfacepalm:
Rosenthorn 13. apr. 2017 kl. 5:01
@blkbutterfly just be sure to ask before stealing this one.
Ananse 11. apr. 2017 kl. 15:40
That's exactly what I wanted, ty :D
blkbutterfly 11. apr. 2017 kl. 15:23
Can I ask why you decided to do Sri Lanka?

There are plenty of other civs that haven't been done. Zulu, Inca, Maya, Shoshone, Morocco, etc :steammocking:
chimp  [ophavsmand] 11. apr. 2017 kl. 14:23
@blkbutterfly thanks for the info. The colours aren't changing.

@Ananse hopefully I can help answer that for you my man :D the agenda 'Not Even A Little Water' is part of a quote by Parakramabahu that goes "not even a little water that comes from the rain must flow into the ocean without being made useful to man". He was quite a resourceful fella that made every bit of use that nature provided. This and Sri Lanka's advanced irrigation methods (see blkbutterfly for more info) inspired the decision to design gameplay around rivers by making them essential to Sri Lanka's playstyle. I hope that helps mate!
Ananse 11. apr. 2017 kl. 11:09
I mean, I don't understand why the Agenda is named what its named, and what the thematic tie is between all these abilities dealing with water.
blkbutterfly 11. apr. 2017 kl. 9:44
Yes, the orange on the Sri Lankan flag represents Tamils. FYI The colour of the Sinhalese is maroon :steamfacepalm: -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Sri_Lanka#Symbolism
Senshi  [ophavsmand] 11. apr. 2017 kl. 8:34
Yeah, thanks for letting me know. I'll see what I can do ;)
Sapient_Pest 11. apr. 2017 kl. 8:31
@S. Denshi, P.I. No sweat with the artdefs. Obviously not gamebreaking, just making sure you were aware.
Senshi  [ophavsmand] 11. apr. 2017 kl. 7:22
Also, surely if you want to use the symbolism of the flag, then the lion represents the Sinhala ethnicity, which means if any alt leaders are made they'll keep the Sinhalese aspect of the icon and not the Tamil, if that's what you care about? Frankly I think you might be complaining for the sake of it.
Senshi  [ophavsmand] 11. apr. 2017 kl. 6:55
Because it looks good :P

I initially tried using colours similar to the flag, but it frankly just looked really generic. I think these colours are a lot more unique and distinct. The yellow with the orange/light brown wasn't supposed to represent anything whatsoever. It was originally a much darker brown but it didn't look good so I brightened it up a bit.

Also, the only reference I've found to orange being the colour of Tamils is the Sri Lankan flag itself. It certainly doesn't seem to be prolific enough to be a symbol of the people :/
blkbutterfly 11. apr. 2017 kl. 5:57
Also why have you given Sri Lanka Tamil colours?! Orange is the coulour of Tamils and the Cholas. Ancient Sri Lanka is basically Sinhalese.

You know there is a 30 yr civil war between Sinhala & Tamil, don't you? The issues are very much unresolved :steammocking:
Senshi  [ophavsmand] 11. apr. 2017 kl. 2:48
@Ananse what exactly do you mean?

@ploratio That's an error with the artdefines, I should be able to fix it if/when I figure out how to do building artdefs :P

@blkbutterfly Regardless of what most Sri Lankan kings did with the environment, Parakramabahu was very much interested in construction and development. His adage "not even a little water that comes from the rain must flow into the ocean without being made useful to man" was the inspiration for the agenda, as shown by its name, and basically states that he was much more interested in harnessing nature than preserving it. After all, agendas are leader-specific, not civ-specific.
blkbutterfly 10. apr. 2017 kl. 23:28
BTW I speak Sinhalese. So if you want anyone to do voice recordings for the mod let me know :steamhappy:
Sapient_Pest 10. apr. 2017 kl. 14:10
Am now getting a red exclamation mark inside holy sites. Assuming this is UB related, but didn't confirm.
Ananse 10. apr. 2017 kl. 13:28
Could you explain the flavor behind the ability set?
blkbutterfly 10. apr. 2017 kl. 12:55
Thumbs up!! Huge improvement over Sri Lanka in Civ V.

One thing: like most indigenous people Sri Lankans did not over exploit the land. In fact it's why prior to colonization it was the very definition of an untouched paradise. Serendipity.

Parakramabahu's famously remembered for saying "Not one drop of water shall reach the sea without first serving man". His agenda (and legacy) was the building of tons of wewas (tanks) for irrigation that are now elephant sanctuaries :steamhappy:
King Gabe I 10. apr. 2017 kl. 9:52
yes, does it have Ynamp?
Shenandoath 10. apr. 2017 kl. 7:56
Is it work with YNAEMP?
Sapient_Pest 9. apr. 2017 kl. 20:30
Awesome. Cheers.
Senshi  [ophavsmand] 9. apr. 2017 kl. 18:46
Yeah, that's on me I'm afriad, forgot to add the Vatadage as a Prereq Building. Should be fixed now though ;)
Sapient_Pest 9. apr. 2017 kl. 12:32
Either I'm missing something, or your shrine replacement doesn't allow the purchasing of Missionaries. I'm assuming that's not intentional?
Roni 9. apr. 2017 kl. 10:00
Sweet mod! Does the City State of Kandy gets replaced by another one?
