@ ken : Hmm... would take the same amount of work the original mod authors provided to fix the compatibility. The only steps I'm aware of although not related to this is how to make the General Passives mod function for any class detailed in this Guide: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3261717337 To make Variant and Additional Classes function together however would take the knowledge of a modder - of whom most have retired or are dedicated to sigular projects.

Thank you very much for your reply. I tried the method you gave me and found that Variant and Addon To Additional Classes (v.80), as well as Additional Classes: Also install the Addon Edition, conflict with each other. How can I make these three mods compatible? I really don’t want to give up any of them because the classes in these mods are excellent. Could you please tell me how to make them work together?

I keep two links on my desktop. A link to the location of the save files, and a link to the location where I keep my backups. I put the backups in sequentially-numbered folders, and delete 2 of the extras after I've made 5 folders.

Best to just make a backup copy of your entire Modsave file. I make backups of the Save, Modsave and Mods files on a regular basis. (Sometimes the mods get changed or deleted in the Workshop so it's always good to keep backups of the Mod folder, along with the 2 save folders).

@ ken : Once the other mod that is not compatible has been found - choose one of the two mods to continue using in the Load Order to prevent further crashing.
If in need to try and save extra data like items and such while trying to remove characters from Mod-Binds - there's this mod that can salvage items in some situations - details on it's front page:

Do remember to Copy - Paste the Shared Stash / Stash files too - as they contain item data that can be saved in some cases (same folder as the Mod Character save files).

@ ken : Welcome. It could be - have to test it like this: First step is to Copy - Paste your mod character Saves (over to a separate location not affected by Steam Cloud or the game) from the Mod Save Folder located in Documents > My Games > Runic Games > Torchlight II folders.
That is a good step regardless as it protects saved progress in any scenario.
Most common next step is to delete the entire Mod Save Folder while the Game / Mod Launcher is open on screen (and remove the mods from the Load Order), after deletion - start then quit the game. This will remove all possible Mod-Binds that can also cause Crashes.
Afterwards try loading all chosen mods with this mod and see if it crashes again - if so, try loading this mod with another of the chosen mods - one-by-one (one at a time with this mod), a process of elimination - until you find which mod is causing the crash with this mod.

Hi mate, I am recently trying to fix some bug in other mods, and comes into some tags unmatch problem, and I notice that the mod I am working on involves some files of your mod.
I have already manage to fixing some hashcode matching, but there is still one tag might need some help from you here.

@ Karas : Drew's Class Pack is an exception. The Drew Classes in Variant are from his normal version as he manages two packs; one of them for Synergies specifically. Because of the special requirements; best to follow his instructions.
Items above Pets above Classes is the usual recommendation for Variant mods.

@ Karas : There are modders who know more about Guts than I do; ask Phanjam on Runic Games Discord (he's here on Steam too) and he'll provide the info needed when he has time.

Thanks for the tip for merging, downloaded GUTS, found "how to merge mods" guide, unpacking my mods now. Seems simple enough so far. One question: There is no size limit for merged mod right? I can go merge everything regardless of size?

@ Karas : There used to be many more available modders than are currently available today to fulfill requests. At this point; (although it's admittedly difficult to learn and many errors can occur) it may be best for players to try and merge the mods directly as the main Author who could update this mod is no longer active. The idea for the Variant mods as a series was more various mod auhtors to focus on different projects and hence bridge their work without reaching the memory limit on Steam TL2 mods of 200mb. Class Mod Source Authors like Drewrobi has continued to update his pack even after this one stopped updating years ago. I would've liked if Electrical Engineer, Otaku Fighter, and FEP+ would've been added however that decision was above my vote at the time. I hope if anything that this mod serves as an inspiration for what can be done in the future by mod authors who join this community. My apologies for the lack of updates here.

Thanks for this great mod. I have one question. You added all of Drew's classes except Psion, Blighted and Gunslinger. Can you add those too? Also can you add Far East Packs Plus too?

Another thing, can you merge all Variant mods into one big mod? (As an additional one of course, without deleting these seperate mods.) 10 mod limit ruins all the fun, merging them would give us more mod slots to use for other stuff, i would really appreciate it.

@ Kreed: Thanks for the reports. I'm only a contributor hence I'm limited to only fixing the link for the Lightbringer Class. I tested and the link directs correctly now.
It appears that the author of this mod-pack is retired; sorry to say on class fixes.

First of all thanks for this great mod.
I have found two issues.
First the link above leading to the lightbringer mod page leads to the light warden instead. No big deal.
Second the sacrament of faith skill of the lightbringer should passivly add a fire aura. However i can spend only one point and must activate it but still do not get a fire aura. Animation is there but no damage applied.
Would be cool if you could look into that case.

Please add embermage's "Wand Chaos" skill to (PSION) it will make it amazing and a lot of fun, the class is fantastic. but autocasting this skill is a lot of fun.

@ Pau Fofinhoo : The decision to keep FEP+ separate is for the many items that FEP+ adds to the game. Some players want the option to choose whether to include or not include FEP+ hence it remains outside of Variant Classes. Another motive is possibly to keep the total file-size smaller.

I don't think the creators of this mod changed the names of any of the classes they've included. I checked the Far East packs, and none of the classes listed for any of them seems to be included in the list of classes in the description of this mod.

Steffire and Torchmodders are the best people to coordinate with for fixes on this mod, however. I'm just a fan of the mod.

Braxus, that is great of you to do help the community with some fixes for this class pack. I really like it, but stopped using it because it severely nerfed the phase portal with the gels, and the same gels in Tarroch's Tomb (or is it Tarroch's Trials?). I don't know if this happens only when I combine this mod with the TL2-ACE mod or if doudley was just trying to make things a bit easier for us with that phase portal. Anyway, yes, some of the classes have issues so any fixes would be welcome.

Love this character pack. Found a few bugs with different classes and I think I tracked down a fix for some of them poking around the guts editor. Can I run them past you? Thought it would be better to do an official fix rather than just patch it for me and friends to play since so many people love this pack.

@ suffx : We're currently low on experienced modders who are available to achieve modded classes as Pets. The ones who are available are committed to other projects.

I absolutely love this mod!!!! But I also reeeeeeallly love the mod Humans as pets.
What do you think about getting modded classes as pets in the future? Know anyone who might be up for such a task? It would be cool to travel around TL2 with a Warchief or Priest Pet.

(Uploader) Doudley has been gone for years however it's possible that (Contributor) TorchModders may be able to have a look to see if there's anything that can be found when he has time and if fixes can be made then the Runic Games Fansite version would be updated with the changes.

There may be an issue with the prophet class with multiplayer. When i play the Prophet and someone connects LAN (and online) and plays the blade dancer it causes the person to crash when the prophet swings the staff. It could be the conviction proccing. Another class (druid) can be played with the prophet without any issue.
I have not tried with all class combinations but i believe when another friend played the archer it crashed as well. We have slowly removed every mod but this one and the result is the same.

Shield Bash is at level Level 1, and Fire Bash at Level 35, on the vanilla game.

I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I've installed this mod + reduced particles + respec/restat potion and now engi's shield bash starts at level 42, I don't exactly remember but I think it used to be around level 4-5. Is this a rebalance thing from the mod or a bug I could possibly fix?

@ Khellion : The Shared Stash can be saved by copying it out of the folder where it's located. The normal Stash is tied to the character save file.
I also realize that Steam might have it's Cloud Save active which would keep the Bind intact on re-install since it's tied to the Mod Save Folder. It's located within Documents > My Games > Runic Games > Torchlight 2 folder directory.

Would we also be able to lose the stash or can that be copied out and then added afterwards?

@ Khellion : If a Bind has occurred then the entire "mod_save" (not the mods) folder will have to be deleted. It's optional to move the bugged character save file out of the folder. A new character will need to be started to test the status of the mod. Summary: Binds are always an issue that has occurred with save files during mods moving in and out of the Load Order. Not all mods Bind however when they do; this error usually occurs.
