As a solar tech, I have to point out that solar panels don't use lithium. That's the batteries! XD
And only if you do, in fact, use lithium batteries. Which is far superior to lead-acid, NiCD, or classic NiMH*.

* = Newer NiMH using polyacene anodes may have 2x the density of LFP, but has relatively poor speed of charge/discharge, but ~2x-5x the cyclic life! Properly cared for, even old NiMH can outlast lipo, but LFP usurped the battery market until recently.

Point is, solar panels mostly use silicon, copper, and aluminium and are HIGHLY recycleable, covering Mono and Polycrystalline panels. Flexible amorphous and thin-film use different materials and involve rare earth materials, such as Indium and Gallium, and are NOT recycleable in addition to having half the life expectancy, producing more heavy, and having between 1/2 and 1/3 the efficiency of mono and poly panels.

exactly its been 4 years, so I see no need to update a mod that I made during a10

False you can turn it to a server that requires no power and no upkeep link to the furniture wiki https://softwareinc.coredumping.com/wiki/index.php?title=Furniture_Modding

There is no function that allows that

So I know you said there is no way for the panels to lower the electricity bill, but is there a way to just give you passive income as a compromise? Im not sure what the monthly rate should be to make it balanced. $250 - $500 a month per unit?

a great idea for the panels is to make them produce small amounts of money

The panels work in the sense that they are usable as decoration. There is no function in the game that allows to lower electricity costs therefor they are purely cosmetic.

These look awesome! But I'm guessign they don't work judging by the comments? Or am I reading into this wrong?

Unfortunatelly the City council of Software City has restriction of use on solar power. Pentalties for having solar power are the equivalent of the cost of electricity from the grid this is why its currently impossible to reduce your electricity bill or sale the electricity. Maybe once new elections come along we can solve this! Or just contact your local Software City Representative!

What if instead of generating electricity, they just generate small amounts of money? That would essentially work out the smae way.
leolumbreras 24. sep. 2017 kl. 16:05
They should give us electrecity
Charlie 25. juli 2017 kl. 3:03
Maybe (in alpha 9) where you can see your electricity bill it could take off some of that, even make it so you earn money on electricity
Macket 18. juli 2017 kl. 3:54
i just figured it out :D

Macket 18. juli 2017 kl. 3:53
how to download?

They look great. They could just generate income, which is effectively the same thing as offsetting electricity.

all these little design features even if they dont do anything, its something maybe that can be added to the game at a later date.

Very nice

I tried negative value but didn't work :(
Hellspawn 1. apr. 2017 kl. 15:30
Maybe instead of producing electricity they could just slightly decrease your upkeep.
Alternatively maybe they just 'drain' a negativ value instead of a positiv one.

Still looks nice though ^.^
