Hello everyone, as I posted in the mod's description, I don't think I'll be updating this mod anytime soon, but for those who have issues getting this mod to work with other mods or think the mod itself needs some updating, if you feel like it, just take this mod, update it and re-upload it as your own mod, no need to give me credit or anything. How did you make them use the voice files, i am trying to use these voices for the portugal mod that adds the faction and make every unit use the new voices but i can't figure it out.

Unfortunately there is a UI glitch caused by this mod, together with "The Real Sound Fix ENG"

Both mods have a text/db/ entry called "units.loc", that will mutually overwrite can cause the UI glitch. I just changed the table name with RPFM and everything went fine again

missionaries should not speak in portugese, they are preaching in japan, that's ,like, obvious

Hi, very indeed weird that they implemented french voices in fots and didn't bother to introduce portugues accent at least. Do u still keep this mod up-to-date tho? @Vlakc

(I see some voices shered in the comment section that demand anorher version of ur work for expanded tercios mods, I too want to encaurage u)

Don't know if the mod is still being updated, but it turned my battle announcer into some guy speaking plain American English with no emotion.

i mean,it isn't wrong that missionaries speak Japanese. After all they can also be japanse themselves,can't they? Plus,they need to speak it to convert the natives

is there a way to make new units use portuguese instead of japanese?

until today i am trying to get those audio files so i can hear them 1 by 1

Is there any way to make a fix to include the other Portuguese units in the mod as having Portuguese voice lines?

@major_paynee With the Portugal faction mod this mod works exactly the same, missionaries and Portuguese terços speak Portuguese however all other Portuguese units speak Japanese. The creater of the Portuguese faction mod said that he eventually wants to change all voice lines to Portuguese so until then this is as good as it gets.

Portuguese never spoke neither english during their assignation in Japan

Have you renamed "European traders" to Portuguese/Portugal?
It shal be wise, because in these games the conceptors seem to be Anti-Lusitanian.
In Medieval 2 Total war its ok, in Empire total war they make Portugal a minor faction, removes Brazil and parts of south africa, in Shogun 2 they named them European traders their soldiers speak english and their Priests are full Nipponophone . In Napoleoni Total War they are AGAIN unplayable both main campaing and PENINSULAR CAMPAING (wonder why) at the end i wonder this:

IS THERE A PROBLEM WITH PORTUGUESE PEOPLE?!
Portuguese are cool, why so much discrimination?

Thank you kindly for this mod. Just love little details like this. When i think about it wtf CA-ok i may understand japanese speaking missionaries (so common folk would understand what christianity is about) but english speaking portuguese soldiers?

Try disabling all other mods except this one and run the game just to check if there is a conflict between mods, if it doesn't work, try deleting and re-downloading the mod.

If it still doesn't work, could you be more specific with your issue? do the terços and missionaries not speak in portuguese? or is it just one of them?

Hey, I've just uploaded my mod that lets you play as the Portuguese faction, I was also planning on doing the same and using the Napoleon voice lines but it seems you have already done it! great job! Unfortunately I cannot figure out how to give the new units the English voice lines and so they will continue to speak in Japanese even with this mod. Hopefully I can figure it out soon.

Could you make a version that is compatible with Master Of Strategy? While the preists have the right versions, the portugese units still speak in Japanese.

Just uploaded an update today that fixes the few instances where the terços would still speak in english. Now, I guess I could call this mod "complete" but if you ever find the Terços or missionaries speaking "not in portuguese", let me know.

Tested it in custom battle. US Marines work fine, Royal Marines speak portuguese in some cases (instead of "immediately", "at once" or "at the double" and "attack") - "Royal marines here" seems to work though. Not sure what determines the audio sample used.

Well that's reasuring, I assumed that after changing so many british english mp3 files to portuguese It will somehow break some units in FoTS but to be frank I didn't actually test it so I simply assumed.

I tested FoTS in a custom battle and the Brits spoke English.

Great. I was looking for a mod like this. It's dumb that CA decided to make the portuguese speak English lol.

This is definitely a great job!
But I found that the Terços still speaks some English such as "moving forward" when you give it orders.
