I think most people here are missing the point. It's a rock. It does everything you'd expect a rock to do. Which means it does the very same thing the pet rock you keep next to you (Don't lie. We all know you have a pet rock) does.

Now that I think about it, that might be a bit hard to program. If it's in your power, then ok.

Everytime the rock is hit with a projectile ( not including yours) it will be slightly chipped, and a sharp piece of rock will shoot in a random area in an arch (like an ipecac shot) which will slightly damage enemies. When the rock is eventually fully gone, isaac will become even more sad and get a slight tears up for that room. The rock is restored when you enter the next room, and isaac is no longer even more sad.

There's a nice idea for you.
