If you buy Kosaku Kira, do you just immediately un-buy him? If so, how does the game even progress?
Banjamin 27. dec. 2023 kl. 15:20
What the hell is the bad company stack?
Kuronk 18. maj 2023 kl. 13:01
This mode is awesome Thanks.
Can you provide empty card template for card types we love the game and want to add some cards while we are playing
DexThorn  [ophavsmand] 2. dec. 2022 kl. 22:22
@Shell5 I think I updated it so that you can download the PDF again! lmk if it wont let you or if the PDF isnt updated. Its been a while since I touched the game!

@Sterungo I think I planned on making a Solo expansion (I love playing DBGs solo myself) but in the end I think I never got around to it. So technically an error. Thank you for pointing it out!

@Zaekier For Great Days Requiem, you need to have it in play for its win condition to trigger. With Made In Heaven, the win triggers at the end of the game. It should technically be worded "End of Game: If the main deck is empty, you win the game."
sterlungo 2. dec. 2022 kl. 13:50
It says that it's 1, 2, 3, and 4 players. Can it actually be played 1 player? or is it an error?
Papa Conch 21. apr. 2022 kl. 19:12
Hello, sorry to bother you but I was hoping to see I could have access to the pdf versio; would really love to have a printed version. Thank you!
Zaekier 13. aug. 2020 kl. 21:35
Do you need Great Days Requiem in hand to get the instant win condition?
Also do you need Made In Heaven in hand for the instant win condition?
DexThorn  [ophavsmand] 18. juli 2020 kl. 0:35
yes, in that scenario he'd be +7 power
GiggyTheGoat 15. juli 2020 kl. 15:54
Just to clarify the +5 power was coming from strength, so if white snake copied it would be +7 power for whitesnake
DexThorn  [ophavsmand] 12. juli 2020 kl. 1:21
Yes, he keeps the power as well. He is +2 Power and the rest of the effects on the card you chose to copy as well.
GiggyTheGoat 11. juli 2020 kl. 22:03
Also does White snake copy power aswell? so if i used whitesnake would i get the +5 and +2 for white snake?
GiggyTheGoat 11. juli 2020 kl. 22:00
@DexThorn Nvrm just went into the mod files, also i plan on adding a giant fanmade expansion for this game so look out for that :)
DexThorn  [ophavsmand] 11. juli 2020 kl. 10:18
@speedydude65 You can, just the counter effect of attacking the attacker will have no effect, since there is no attacker playing the card.
@Peter The Savage You want it as a PDF? would just a PNG work better, or?
GiggyTheGoat 10. juli 2020 kl. 18:36
Could you upload an image of the card backs as a pdf so i can make my own custom cards
speedydude65 10. juli 2020 kl. 17:26
Can you counter an antagonist's first appearance attack with a card like steel ball or some of the hamon cards?
DexThorn  [ophavsmand] 1. maj 2020 kl. 18:04
@ The Last Brickman Im glad you're enjoying the game! Firstly, Jonathan's ability does not activate the effects of the Hamon Abilities you discard if they have a a Counter or Defense effect. I will admit, I created the Joestar cards before I finalized the full card list, so I never realized that most of the Hamon Abilities would have Counters when I created them. That being said, I'll be doning some work on the cards and I believe I have a fix for him, so looking forward to your feedback on that change!

And for Cream, each text on its own line is an individual effect. Even if you choose not to destroy a card in your own discard pile, you still get to attack. If the text said "You may destroy a card in your discard pile. IF YOU DO, ..." that would be a different story. Hope that helps!
The Last Brickman 1. maj 2020 kl. 17:48
Hey, Dex, my girlfriend got me into your game, and I'm hooked, but I'm curious; since Jonathan's Defense ability requires you to discard a Hamon ability card to activate, does it stack with the counter and defense effects of the Hamon abilities you discard? Because as far as my girlfriend and I know, it doesn't, and when I play with Jonathan he ends up lagging behind immensely unless he spam-buys zoom punches.

Also, for Cream, do you *have* to destroy one of your own cards in order to activate it's attack, or can you simply attack without?

DexThorn  [ophavsmand] 29. okt. 2019 kl. 18:11
So the reason I ended up changing Anubis was because I was worried that with stand master effects sometimes changing the effect of the stand card itself, it would cause a bit of confusion. I think i have fixed the issue, but only time will tell! Im going to be updating the game in just a little while. stay tuned!
Hammy 29. okt. 2019 kl. 7:35
@DexThorn thank you for the response! The biggest thing that confused my group and caused a big snowball was the Anubis card. Letting the player be able to play virtually any Stand card at a cost of only 3 feels very busted. I'm not sure if we somehow misinterpreted it, especially for how different it is from the spreadsheet version.
DexThorn  [ophavsmand] 27. okt. 2019 kl. 16:50
also, @Hamron, A few things. Firstly, The Yasuhiro thing should be fixed soon, but the reason why i cant simply just do it now i will get to. Secondly, when countering, you always only attack the person attacking you. Even if the card says "each foe" theres only one foe the counter is affecting: the attacker. Lastly, and this is the biggest one: There are three different versions of this game, it seems. One is the oldest one, the spreadsheet. You can tell because it doesnt have the updated text box. The second is the game on tts, and the third is the game in my files. It seems i had started to update the game, but i never finished or uploaded it. So what Im going to do is go over it one last time, see what i can do about it, and upload the new version for testing. If the same problems persist, please let me know!
DexThorn  [ophavsmand] 27. okt. 2019 kl. 16:29
Sorry it took me so long to get to these messages! Life's been a little wild for me and i dont have as much time to invest in these anymore, but I can definately try to do what i can. First off, thank you very much for your feedback! without it, the game cant get any better. However, i do have a few questions. Other than Scary Monsters (which i already have a fix in mind for) what other cards do you think are overpowered? What do you mean by "a lack of difference in vp between many different prices of cards"? also, i will be adding in the Round Ongoing rule into the rulebook shortly, I just changed that wording after i made the rulebook and forgot to add it. Though what are you quoting when you say "every enemy youve collected"? im not sure i see a card that says that...
as well, you are welcome to DM me about this if you wish to have a full conversation!
MuffinCrow 22. okt. 2019 kl. 19:10
So me and my friend were playing the game and found a few typos that need to be worked out. Example: and instead of an.
We also found a lot, and I mean A LOT of stuff that needs to get reworked for balancing purposes. There was a lack of difference in vp between many different prices of cards, some cards like scary monsters were just over the top too powerful for their cost and some cards had wording that is not used in other deckbuilders and need their own explanations in the rulebook. I.E. "every enemy you've collected" what collected means and "Round Ongoing" which doesnt make sense.

Overall, really awesome and the cards really reflect what they are in the show but there are balancing issues and the instructions need to be updated a little.
Hammy 24. aug. 2019 kl. 22:10
Actually looking at it it seems like the game itself is actually outdated and the spreadsheet has more balanced cards for stuff like Jolyne and Anubis. I'm not sure if you still plan on updating this game but that would be really cool if you did.
Hammy 24. aug. 2019 kl. 1:21
Hi, so I just finished playing this game for the first time and I had a great time but I had a couple notes.
1: I noticed certain cards like Wamuu are outdated in the spreadsheet. I really would like to play the cut out game so if you could update that I would be very happy.
2. "Yasuhiro Hirose" should be "Yasuho Hirose"
3. When counter attacking with an attack that affects multiple people, like with the Steel Ball, does it affect everyone in play or just the original attacker?
DexThorn  [ophavsmand] 4. juni 2019 kl. 11:08
Yes, you can! You can keep countering until someone cant anymore. :)
Dumpy™ 4. juni 2019 kl. 4:06
Can you counter a counter since it's treated as a new attack?
DexThorn  [ophavsmand] 3. juni 2019 kl. 14:19
Actually, stray cat requires you to discard an ongoing card from your hand, so thats a bit different. Ill change that if need be though.
DexThorn  [ophavsmand] 3. juni 2019 kl. 14:17
Will do! And as for Bruno, each card can be 7 or less. So you can grab two seven cost cards if youd like!
FlareBlade 3. juni 2019 kl. 3:03
It's no problem, thanks for getting back to me! If you wanna fix it, Stray Cat has the same wording as well.

If I may ask another question, the card Bruno Bucciarati says, "You may shuffle up to two cards cost 7 or less from your discard pile to your deck."

Is this intended to be up to two separate cards, each costing 7 or less, or 2 cards that total up to 7 Cost?
DexThorn  [ophavsmand] 3. juni 2019 kl. 0:38
Technically, if a card requires you to do something with a card in play, unless it specifies otherwise, its always going to be something you control/own. However, i do understand the confusion, and i will be sure to change it to "you may discard a card you control from play." as soon as i can. Sometimes its hard to tell if something will be read a certain way when you make a game because you read it how you intend it to be used, so my apologies, i missed that. Thank you for bringing it up though.
FlareBlade 2. juni 2019 kl. 2:02
For the Foo Fighters Ally card, it states, "You may discard an Ongoing card..." to attack each foe to cause them to also discard an Ongoing card. The group I was playing with interrupted this as discarding any ongoing card in play, including opponent's ongoing cards. Is this is the intended wording, or is it intended that you must discard your own Ongoing cards to get the Attack effect?
Fluddy! 9. maj 2019 kl. 14:18
Thanks for the reply. Me and my friends really enjoyed this. :happy_creep:
DexThorn  [ophavsmand] 3. maj 2019 kl. 19:31
That is correct, yes. everything gets "rewound" and everything you bought (from the line ups, stacks, and even him) gets put back.
Fluddy! 3. maj 2019 kl. 13:21
For the second Kira, when you defeat him, does he himself go back? (Does this mean you have to defend against his defeated attack to actually claim him?)
DexThorn  [ophavsmand] 13. juli 2018 kl. 21:59
All cards that do not have the card type "Hamon Ability" are non-hamon abilities. That applies to all cards that refer to non-X cards. Non-X cards are any cards that aren't X type.
streamofconstantine 13. juli 2018 kl. 20:32
Giorno's ability indicates that you can swap non-hamon abilities, but no cards are classified as non-hamon abilities. Are stands meant to be non-hamon abilities? (Friend is a rules lawyer who won't let it fly)

So first off, I just changed 20th Century Boy. The Stands in the extra Stands deck were really just me playing with cards to come up with some interesting, flavorful ideas, so not all of them can be winners. Hopefully the new change will be better. As far as some side characters, Im going to be making not only a Co-op addition/alternate gameplay option, but moving the extra Stand cards to another mod that will include a lot of extras. Im not going to add every character to the extra section, but if you happen to have a few youd like to see, let me know and ill add them in.
Hyrulian Panda 11. juli 2017 kl. 19:33
Any word on adding those extra card you said you had but were not added to the game to avoid deck bloat? Or if you have em on file but don't wanna add em to the official mod you can send me some sorta dl link and I'll take em for personal use.

Also 20th century boy is just bad. It fits the stand's ability but that ability is bad. Not sure what one could do about the card but it either needs to be changed to be better or replaced or something. I have never had anyone buy the card in all the games I have played and most of my play time on TTS is this game(or a variation of it)
UncleBenn 10. juli 2017 kl. 19:53
okay looking forward to it :)
DexThorn  [ophavsmand] 10. juli 2017 kl. 17:38
I completely understand that. I also thought about making it a cooperative venture, but in the end i just settled for your typical competitive style that you see with these Ceberus Engine DBGs. If Im being honest, I never really was a Legendary fan, so making a game similar to that would not only be difficult for me, but not as fun either. That being said, however, do not give up hope. Ive actually been coming up with ideas for a cooperative alternate way to play that should hopefully help with some of the issues you have with the game. Im sorry the game isnt exactly how you hoped it would be, but hopefully with some changes and additions, it will at least be a little better. :)
UncleBenn 10. juli 2017 kl. 8:14
And then in the main deck could be like the Antagonists minions so like when they get flipped out into the line up they can like do something bad when they are flipped or have something bad happen when you fight them but after that they become part of your deck and you can like use them the way you do now. I do realize that doing something like this would mean overhauling like the entire game and would be a ton of work on your part. I'm also not a game developer so I dont even know if many of the things I suggested would even work. But me and my friends really enjoyed the time we spent playing this game together and would just like to get rid some of the annoyance that came up while we were playing.

UncleBenn 10. juli 2017 kl. 8:14
Which to say there is nothing wrong with that style of game it just seemed kinda weird and clashs with the spirit of JoJo. Like I dont wanna over step my boundaries here but I feel like a JoJo deckbuilding game should be more like yeah me and my friends are gonna join forces to beat DIO instead of the me and my friends are gonna keep punching each other in the face until one of us decides that they are gonna steamroll through the Antagonist deck and win. I think the game could probably benefit from more of a Legendary style of play where you're a team going against the villanous Antagonist deck. This would probably mean beefing up the Antagonist adding like "Villain Attack" cards to the main deck that when drawn triggers the currents Antagonist's special ability that like screws over the players by giving them a Muda or something.
UncleBenn 10. juli 2017 kl. 8:13
Hey, big fan of the game you may have talked to my friend Quietkal I am one of the friends that have spent multiple hours playing this game. I love JoJo and me and friends all the love the show so when we saw this game we were extremely hyped. We loved how the game was super simple to learn (well as long as you have played a deck builder before) and how each card captured the personalities of the characters and how it felt like a really well polished game. We did have some grievances with the game however along with some personal issues with the game for instance one thing I really didn't like about the game was it felt like the game focused a lot more heavily on you getting dunked on by your friends and trying to screw each other over than like actually working together to beat a common enemy.
DexThorn  [ophavsmand] 8. juli 2017 kl. 13:45
Oh, and if you dont mind, a small request: If you happen to see anything that seems like a grammar issue or that some cards say pretty much the same thing but are worded differently, Id love it if you could point those out to me. I have some issues finding them myself, esspecially spelling mistakes, so an extra set of eyes would be amazing. Thanks!
DexThorn  [ophavsmand] 8. juli 2017 kl. 13:42
Honestly, Im very happy to hear every single piece of feedback! And honestly, when you say things like "____ is just...the worst?" it actually is EXTREMELY helpful, no joke. Like, Jail House Lock seems like a great idea to capture the feel of the Stand, but is it good when actually being played? not so much. and unfortunately Ive been so busy lately that I havent had the ability to really playtest as much, so all this info is very, very helpful! Im currently doing some tweaks to the specific cards you mentioned, and after I put those out, I am going to be looking into things like the Counter system, catch-up mechanic ideas, and some more major fixes to the game. Hopefully, the new changes can help balance normal gameplay some more. :) Thank you again for all the feedback. It really does help.
Quietkal (Doing Better!) 7. juli 2017 kl. 14:33
Thinking over it, I don't have an example of a time where I or another player had an Ongoing out that was doing too much. Well, except for Kiss stickers. I guess I don't have a grievance about them really, sorry.
Deck-building games don't usually have a catch-up mechanic to haul players from behind, instead doing something like in Dominion where you add dead cards to your deck to gain victory points. So yours not having one isn't especially unusual, but the mechanic of getting closer to the end of the game and also becoming stronger makes any sort of comeback tough
Reducing max hand size limits options, and while that's strategic it's anti-fun
I don't have a suggestion for changing Hamon Attacks unless it completely shifts the flow of the game from "attack your friends" to "combo off your friend's attacks to boost them slightly and gain a bigger boost on your turn," but that'd require completely rebuilding the Counter and Defense mechanics and any cards that include or reference them
Quietkal (Doing Better!) 7. juli 2017 kl. 14:32
So, my last post has been sort of hanging on me, and I don't want to come off like "Hey, here's a bunch of things I don't like about your game okay bye"
Like, I legitimately enjoy your game, just...some parts could use some rebalance. Hope I’m not overstepping; you seem like you're open to feedback since you're actually checking the comments and letting us know you're going to update the game. You’re super free to ignore all of this and make your game however you want though, man.

So, small expansion on my comments / possible changes?
Cards that affect another player on their next turn should remain on the field like Lisa Lisa does. Just to sort of clean that up and make whether you have effects on you be more recognizable
Stone Free works well to clean Mudas, but it's...just, really situational and feels like it doesn't much each even in that situation. Maybe it could always destroy a 0-cost from your hand or discard, and then sometimes destroy additional cards?
Quietkal (Doing Better!) 6. juli 2017 kl. 23:41
Ongoings seem generally too good and too hard to remove. Most could have "At the end of your turn, discard this card if you didn’t play it this turn" and be fine
There's no catch-up mechanic and if you get ahead you snowball through the antagonists and win
Stone Free is really bad. Very situationally useful and then not useful enough in that one case. If it gave any amount of power it would be significantly less bad
Emperor should probably force targeting a new opponent with each reattempt, “hey you defend 3 times or take a muda” feels a lot more mean than Rebuff Overdrive’s effect. Admittedly Rebuff Overdrive also wants to Counter but still
Jail House Lock is just…the worst?
Terunosuke Miyamoto should reveal each player's hand to check whether they have any Defenses
Hamon Attacks are against other Jojos and don't impact the Antagonists except by giving you power to maybe fight them and feels weird?
Controlling other players' turns is just…the worst?
Quietkal (Doing Better!) 6. juli 2017 kl. 23:41
No worries, thanks for putting time and effort into making this! Game’s aesthetic looks really clean, cards are pretty easy to recognize at a glance (some of the Hamons are tough to pick apart without zooming on them)
More questions, does Gyro Zeppeli give +2 Power for each Steel Ball you control, or just draw for each Ball?
How is ???'s First Appearance - Attack supposed to work? Because it...is very confusing? Does one person choose? Do non-chosen cards keep their game text or get replaced with +2 Power?
Also, long post incoming, been playing this with 2 friends and we had a discussion about our feelings on the game after playing several matches and multiple table flips prior to reaching ???. Neither I nor my friends are game developers, and things might shake out differently with 4-6 players than 3.
