To be honest, I have no idea how to make stuff from scratch, I've just been ripping pieces off existing models and gluing them together!

Gosh, this looks great. I have downloaded Blender and have been trying to make some wargame models of my own but I'm completely hopeless. I just can't make a human form and finding reference images for what I want to do is nigh impossible.
