Oh great! :)
Armesto  [autor(a)] 20/dez./2018 às 13:02
@Simuscape No, I'm not dealing with that yet because I actually would like to redo the whole model with better quality (and fix LODs and more problems) but I have some projects before this.
Simuscape 20/dez./2018 às 11:02
Has the LOD-issue been fixed?
macluk 19/ago./2018 às 5:46
It looks brilliant anyway... Shame the game didn't add any functionality to such assets as yet :)
Possibly that would cost us another £11.99 or euro :D:D:D
macluk 19/ago./2018 às 5:45
Ah ok. thought that that mod was doing something else.
Thanks for explanation... If you could add it to the desription of either of these two, or both of the assets, that would be wonderful. I guess it would save you time explaining it over and over again :) (or is it just me so... unexperienced?).
Armesto  [autor(a)] 18/ago./2018 às 17:03
@makuchluk Yes, you need to place a road or use Move It. I would recommend pedestrian one from Network Extensions 2, as the texture is all pavement (the grey one you can see in the screens). Sub Buildings Enabler is needed for the plaza to work, as the ingame sub buildings tool was bugged with so many sub buildings.
macluk 18/ago./2018 às 15:10
@Armesto - how do you place the Basilica and its square together? I downloaded that mod for sub buildings but that doesn't do any difference. Both structures need to be placed alongside a road. Do i need to build one just under the square?
DandaVinci 19/jul./2018 às 1:29
Can you make the Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major?

@Keroppa Thanks for reporting this. I will try to check what's wrong and fix it.

@Zivouine Not considering it right now, if you want something specific consider have a look at my Patreon :)

@jodelwahnsinn Dank!

@MonoLunatiq Me va a llevar un tiempo acabarla, es aún más grande y necesito bastantes sub-buildings, pero la haré, eso seguro! Gracias!

Great asset, althoug it seems that it has some kind of issues with the LOD when viewing it from specific angles and height. Proof: https://i.gyazo.com/572394807b6d5688d4a6acfc76162f2e.jpg
Zivouine 28/jan./2017 às 1:45
Hi, will you create some french buildings?
jimtduffy 27/jan./2017 às 12:37
Armesto, I wasn't meaning to be critical of your work at all. I love it. It is just that in my city design I was trying to create a distinct visual look to a low-rise European style city. It was off-putting to find that the city look and skyline would keep changing depending on the angle I looked at it, with a 'now you see me, now you don't' dome, and on occasion the entire church disappearing. As to the lighting, what I mean is that the images above show a lit dome at night, but when my city goes into the night the dome is entirely in the dark.

Even if there are glitches with St Peters I am still envious of your design ability. I wish I had your skills.

@REV0 I have one more building from Italy in my list for now. Maybe in the future.
REV0 27/jan./2017 às 7:54
Are you planning to make Roman era buildings in, well, Rome ?
Armesto  [autor(a)] 27/jan./2017 às 7:23
@Kitties Catline Not my style. I do European ones mostly.
Svatabenussy 27/jan./2017 às 6:49
Armesto, can u do American buildings?
Armesto  [autor(a)] 26/jan./2017 às 22:48
@Its a Gift i Swear Do you see The Movie "2012", I think :)

@IcelandicEngineer Thanks! You don't have to be catholic to enjoy churches and cathedrals, atheist word!

@MonoLunatiq Thanks! I wish I can continue the plaza soon to upload it :)

@Chris6d Thanks! I try my best to have a not too heavy model but maintaining the most real look possible. I was there 4 times, is one of my favourite buildings in the world!

@Shah Mirzoev Did you mean, the look from the distance? I use "Cinematic Camera Extended" to adjust FOV.
Armesto  [autor(a)] 26/jan./2017 às 22:42
@jimtduffy (continues here) I don't understand what do you mean with the lights on the dome. If you see the ones in the other parts, the lights are the same. Is the problem only in the distance? If yes, that is another LOD problem: The Dome is illuminated from bottom, so the light you see is "reflected" in the modeled details. LOD is much simpler, so light can't reflect anywhere. And that is really something I can't upgrade. If this is not the problem, I think I will need screenshots to show me what do you see (or don't see)

I'm sorry about hearing you unsubscribe. Please, reconsider subscribing again if you think you can handle the dissapearing stuff. I think adaptative prop distance or mods like that can help with the vanishing dome. Also, don't discard I improve this asset in the future, so please, stay tuned!
Armesto  [autor(a)] 26/jan./2017 às 22:42
@jimtduffy Hello. I think the problem you have is because a bunch of reasons: LOD properties, distance view and size. The building uses one LOD for all the model, to reduce size. All sub buildings have a invisible LOD, except the plaza. That one has the whole Basilica as LOD. So, if you look at it in some angles, is possible for sub buildings (for example, the dome) to show LOD. That means, it will be invisible, but "main LOD" will not be loaded. This is not usually a big problem, but with the size of the Basilica, it's more visible. I have been trying to see when it appears this issue, but for me, is a minor problems (Almost never happens). When I try to take screens, I use LOD Toggler for a second, and this gives me the opportunity to see the whole model fine. Updating this model is going to be a bunch of hours, so it's likely I'm not doing that soon.
Timur 26/jan./2017 às 18:52
How'd you get the isometric view?
jimtduffy 26/jan./2017 às 18:33
I had to delete it from my game. :( The dome consistently appeared and disappeared from its placement, then reappeared,, as I moved to a new angle when viewing the city from normal building height. I was a pity. I loved it, but it was getting annoying that if I moved the mouse slightly the city's look changed again, and I would either have a domeless St Peters, a domed St Peters, or no St Peters at all. I took a screen shot of the view with the dome awol but I see there is no way to load the image. I use a lot of domed buildings in cities and only two have this appearing/disappearing problem - a version of St Paul's and now this version of St Peters. Is it perhaps related to size? Both are larger than other domed buildings in the game. Would a somewhat reduced size St Peters would be more stable? The lighting in the dome didn't appear to be working either.

Nice. I saw this quite a few times in real life, this looks very accurate. Great job, Armesto.
AGD | Shellstrop 25/jan./2017 às 11:39
Nice
jimtduffy 25/jan./2017 às 9:56
I forget to mention the dome doesn't seem to light up either.
jimtduffy 25/jan./2017 às 9:55
Love it. One issue though. At some angles and distances the dome entirely disappears, yet move marginally and it is back. When lights are put on the model to light to dome the lights seem only to be able to be put on the left side in front of the dome.
