how does one "get assets" in the first place? What? Do the devs release it to the public? or you have to extract it yourself?

if you make a lot of these, maybe you can put them all in a single mod and have each as a variant thats a little different from the others

Hey, just gonna throw this out there. I know you lose all the actual assets for the guns of halo, but if you were skilled enough, I am sure you could make some really convincing halo guns for bo3. YOu would just have to somehow figure out how to extract the textures from the halo guns then port them to bo3. Sound effects are a breeze. Animations I imagine wouldn't be that hard to implement. Halo doesn't have any crazy looking animations.
