DOES NOT WORK WITH SAVED GAMES AND CANCELS DISCOVERIES DUE TO RUINS
Strongfinger 19. aug. 2022 kl. 5:57
The biggest issue with the AI IMO is no matter what difficulty level you play it on the AI never suffers any penalty for having too many buildings and units. it can be in as much negative income and debt as it likes and it will never have any of its buildings sold or units disbanded. It can just keep building as much as it wants with no penalty. This allows it to amass literally hundreds of units against you with nothing to worry about and completely steamroll over your civilization. Totally the most unfair thing ever! Its the only thing Id really like to see addressed with a mod. Like preventing the AI from building anything else if it has no gold or just applying disbanding to its Units if its in debt same as the player.
Boltte man 30. dec. 2021 kl. 19:47
Oooh, that would b neat
Kurt 30. dec. 2021 kl. 11:11
You know what would be fun? Instead of making the AI play with no bonuses like the player (which makes the AI bankrupt and incapable of anything), give the player the same bonuses the AI has on a given level. Like on Deity the AI retains all of it's bonuses, but the player gets them too.

If you could combine that with the best mod for AI behavior improvement it would be great.
Boltte man 4. nov. 2020 kl. 23:46
they also get extra reasearch points and stuff so u need to play catchup to get to his level....and maybe 2v1 his units for everyone unit he has, you should get it with two,.....just in case...
Manu 4. nov. 2020 kl. 7:52
AI pays no manteinance for units, that's why they have negative gold increasing and a huge army. Also their army have strengh bonus. 1v1 you will always lose in higher difficulties because your whatever is weaker than his same whatever
Knas 21. jan. 2020 kl. 10:53
Is it possible to make this work in Multiplayer? If so, how do I go about doing this? I tested a method of going into the Expansion2 folder, pasting the mod and adding it to the .pkg file, but it doesn't seem to work :/
Boltte man 2. jan. 2020 kl. 18:42
At this rate, I'll be in the negatives as well and all my units will disband....but for the AI, their units won't disband......and once my units disband....guess what he's gonna do? Yep, declare war on me once my last unit disbands and takes all my cities.....and since I can't afford to purchase or build any more units and maintain them, GG.
Boltte man 2. jan. 2020 kl. 18:40
Ever continued playing after the standard victory conditions(domination, time, science, cultural or religion)? Yeah...that's what I'm playing through right now...
Boltte man 2. jan. 2020 kl. 18:38
Well apparently maintenance cost per unit rises the more turns I'm in.... So far I'm at about 80 gold per unit...yes I am paying 80 gold per turn per unit! His army spans the entire globe or at least has the presence of it whilst I am just barely able to manage my finances let alone be able to amass an equivalent army to take on his....
Evalis  [ophavsmand] 2. jan. 2020 kl. 10:40
I have no idea how that AI would accomplish a negative gold per turn of that ammount and not lose all their units/buildings. In fact there I have no idea how anyone would even get that ammount of gold used per turn to begin with. Something strange must have happened there. Sorry I can't help.
Boltte man 31. dec. 2019 kl. 4:54
I mean look at this guy: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1954125344 Negative 18k gold per turn and still has the largest army of all the major civs........ They must be working for free! Why can't I get free workers and soldiers??!
Boltte man 30. dec. 2019 kl. 22:17
Hm, the auto spawn could be that they have an airport and simply used an airplane to get to their city - only has a one hex radius move zone. Or they used up their to purchase units but you can only have one unit inside the city and that unit can't move till the next turn - if it's two hexes or more - than that's obviously they cheated to get in more units at their base that we can't, without modding or cheating ourselves.....

Got another question - does that change the way AI handles unit maintenance so that once their gold becomes 0 and have negative gold per turn, their units will disband just like ours instead of reduced science rate or this mod doesn't touch on that because.....you never thought of this or not possible to change?

As I've notice some players with huge negative gold per turn and 0 gold in reserve and still have a huge army, meanwhile if I had 0 reserve and negative gold per turn, all my units would disappear....seems a bit unfair.....
Boltte man 21. dec. 2019 kl. 19:36
Well if it doesn't load maybe add a manual installation method instead of forcing it through only the workshop? Like link a zip file with the mod files in question and I can easily just drag and drop the contents into the MOD folder and that should load it...unless there are loose files that needs to be installed in the game directory too for this to work...?

As fore controlling the AI, ok so I got that running so what do I do now? How do I control one of the AI players to see their resource use and any other bonuses they get for free?
Evalis  [ophavsmand] 21. dec. 2019 kl. 13:54
I meant I didn't know if the mod would still load or not. As long as it loads, it works. And there is a way to control the AI, use firetuner, its the cheat program for civ v. You can get it by downloading the Civ 5 SDK, then setting 'enabletuner =1' it in the config.ini
Boltte man 17. dec. 2019 kl. 17:24
Is there a way to take control of an AI civilisation? That would be one way to see if the nod works or not since it won't be apparently as the mod doesn't directly affect you...
Evalis  [ophavsmand] 17. dec. 2019 kl. 14:42
@ Boltte
If I recall correctly that was the bonus they receive on prince. They don't get that bonus if you drop it down to chieftain. I wasn't aware that they auto-spawned units on declare war. I've never seen it happen, I even played with full map view, so I'm not sure if what you saw happening was a result of them switching build priorities, using their gold to purchase, or some other mechanic.

That said I have no idea how to change it if they are cheating that way. I haven't been updating this file, so I don't know if it still works.

@ Shadow 3 Jul, 2012 @ 10:23pm

Hahahaha, that's a pretty good analogy - playing chess against a 5yo with you missing your queen and bishops, and his 8 pawn pieces are all replaced with queen pieces.

@ kahvinpuutostila 3 Jul, 2012 @ 3:46pm

I might have to disable fog of war and reveal whole map too somehow, to test that out, and see if the AI really does insta spawn an army of millitary units upon them declaring war on you....

@ Mitts 3 Jul, 2012 @ 11:43am

Hahahah, well you did refuse their proposal and now paying for it when the other nation declared war on you and only you, with the instigators not helping you one bit....
Boltte man 16. dec. 2019 kl. 9:20
@ MajoraZ 22 Jul, 2012 @ 11:01am

Wait, AI can have two millitary units on one hex tile??

@ Evalis [author] 10 Jul, 2012 @ 6:32pm

Whoa, you must be good if you can do a 10V1 fight.....I can barely survive a 3V1...let alone against 10!

@ Evalis [author] 5 Jul, 2012 @ 7:11am

The insta auto spawn units on declare war?! That's so bullshit! Now wonder where those sudden 10 units came from when I had spec'd out their land before they declared war on me!

How do I remove that extra 15% unit maintenance reduction, half upgrade costs and extra bonus against barbarians for a 100% No cheating AI mod?
Boltte man 16. dec. 2019 kl. 8:58
What does attitude mean?

Wait, the three that the AI still receives, 85% production cost to build any units, 60% extra damage against barbarians and 50% unit upgrade costs - is that what we get too or is that something you decided to leave in just to give the AI a fighting chance, in which case, technically, this mod should be called "Almost no cheating AI" and not "No cheating AI" ....?
Boltte man 16. dec. 2019 kl. 8:53
Oh found it on page 5:

Evalis [author] 16 Aug, 2012 @ 11:37am
In addition to any adjustments based on difficulty the AI recieved:
12 Default happiness Instead of 9
1 Extra happiness from luxury resources
60% Unhappiness from both cities and population
7 Default unit Support instead of 5
3 Unit support per city instead of 2
50% Road maintenance
67% Unit and building training costs
95% Research Costs
67% Culture per policy costs
Attitude with other players +1 instead of -1

The above have all been readjusted
The AI Still recieves:
85% Unit build costs (on prince)
60% Barbarian bonus (instead of 33%)
50% Unit upgrade costs

All other issues related to difficulty, such as free units, free techs, faster (or slower) build or research costs have been unaffected.
Boltte man 16. dec. 2019 kl. 8:50
@ DrOverdose 25 Oct, 2012 @ 9:29pm

Dunno what level you played at but they definitely don't retreat after two units die. I got swamped with 15 that came out of nowhere, I killed maybe 3 or 4 and they just kept coming so your piece of information is obviously incorrect....
Boltte man 16. dec. 2019 kl. 8:46
@ [BMF] Redmatter 31 Dec, 2012 @ 5:20am

The insta heal is from them saving up their promotions, instead of spending it on a longer lasting feat, they save it and not improve the unit and when you attack and make their health drop below 50/100, they use up their insta heal and instantly heal by 50 points. And they might have a stock of these depending on what level they are. So make sure to kill them outright then to leave them be and defend or retreat as they'll use their scummy instaheal option.... hahaha
Boltte man 16. dec. 2019 kl. 8:40
Hopefully this mod works as of the latest patch and compatible with the complete edition of the game....
Boltte man 16. dec. 2019 kl. 8:40
What?! Wow I did wonder how the AI was able to amass a large army in so short amount of time that I can't do myself, even save scumming to trial and error the best method about it.....

What's the list of cheats they use to top us on a prince difficulty game which is supposedly the difficulty the game is meant to be played without getting into bragging rights for beating it on higher difficulties or being a big baby for playing on the easiest setting? Is it just extra gold, happiness and support or is there more? What's support? Is that extra starting units? Or something else?
Alexander Rahl 23. nov. 2018 kl. 13:00
FUCKGreece is my new religion.
thanks for this, Alexander cheats his ass off every game i play.
Spudroosi 19. juli 2018 kl. 13:32
Holy shit the game is much more fun when the ai isn't cheating their dicks off.

Additionally if this mod is causing crashes because of a compatibility issues then those mods very likely have edited something in the global or globaAI defines that conflicts with this. Just assume they did that to better balance their mod and don't load this with it.

If it is crashing solo you should resync your files with steam. You could post the crash log but.. I'm not promising when I'll get back to you on that.
Evalis  [ophavsmand] 9. nov. 2013 kl. 15:33
Sorry for being away for so long. I'm not really back mind you... but ahem. I've just downloaded this mod (I actually lost the original, so I doubt I can update it) and it seems to still be working. Running fire tuner displayed the AI as using (3) for difficulty (prince) when using the mod, and (8) for difficulty (AI_Default) when not using the mod.

AI default is a new implementation with brave new world. They adjusted some of the AI routines and it is now more intelligent (I presume) and as such they took away a large chunk of the super bonuses it was getting from cheiftain. They still get a bit of a boost, but not as major. Which means.. if you are experiencing the computer being a tougher opponent when using this mod, it is because they are smarter!
RoyalewifCheese 14. sep. 2013 kl. 11:30
This crashes my game too. I have BNW. The only workaround I found is editing the GlobalAIDefines.xml "find"<Key>HANDICAP_WARLORD</Key. change WARLORD to PRINCE and you're done.
Traveler 29. juli 2013 kl. 12:17
It doesn't crash my BNW games, but I dont think it's working. I wish I could find the origional .xml file that this patches.
indianahorst 26. juli 2013 kl. 11:09
Does it even work??
Xeonzs 21. juli 2013 kl. 16:29
This guy was last online 259 days ago, makes sense this mod kills my other mods
Peter B 16. juli 2013 kl. 2:02
Does it even work with BnW?
TrumpMAGA 12. juli 2013 kl. 10:16
I can't even load this mod. It crashes everytime on load menu
Путин Хуйло 12. juli 2013 kl. 3:45
computer players have lots of promotions up even with this mod installed, is this something that came from brave new world?
Wanesca 26. juni 2013 kl. 13:20
This mod crash the game when you select options to load or exit to main menu.
Will-O-Maker07 26. juni 2013 kl. 3:35
@Luca I think you are experiencing the same problem I am. Are you using multiple mods to increase your playstyle liking? Cuz I am finding that several mods and maps are not compatible (when they previously were) through lack of updates for each mod individually. Not too sure if that is, just my hypothesis cuz I will download a mod and it works great for a game or 2 and then it doesnt after the 3rd time I play (this is just from loading the game). If anyone has a more definitive answer that would be great.
Luka 24. juni 2013 kl. 21:29
Is this mod causing anyone problems? I'm wondering if it needs to be updated at all. I haven't used it in a while. I was playing on Immortal difficulty because of this mod in the past. King difficulty without this mod is too easy for me, but with anything higher I find it is way too challenging because of the bonuses the AI recieve.
theultimate04 7. juni 2013 kl. 7:42
Thank you so much for this Mod, I can finaly play King level and enjoy it
Praylak 24. maj 2013 kl. 12:59
First mod I load. I had to compensate by increasing the difficulty level, but thats good. Its amazing though to see how much bonus the AI is handed in vanilla. Thats the most revealing part of the mod, its almost disgusting. Its like Firaxis spent 2 hours on the AI, and just proped it up with cheats left, right and center.
kongkim 24. mar. 2013 kl. 11:38
Good mod but i owend the AI even more :S
Pigeon 22. mar. 2013 kl. 10:48
@Nagneto - check out BlouBlou's religion mod, that has a fix for the AI starting with pottery I do believe. :)
