To your question, the bridge already had a functional path (see 6th picture). Both end of this pink path (which is invisible in game) actually snap to the end of the pedestrian path. So you can draw two pedestrian paths first and than place the bridge, which will snap at both end to the pedestrian paths.
I hope you understand what I tried to tell. It's easier to explain with pictures than just words.
The citizens don't really walk over it so I had to place a path under it.
