By the way, I've been using these for a long time, and they're still one of the most useful mods ever for SE. I like to use the "Deep Space 4k" mod to get a darker night, so these lights are very useful, while also adding gameplay/roleplay at the same time. Thanks for that.

Ah well if i cant get it into my survival game this time around, ill spawn a few in creative first on my next new save game :)
Complete Space engineers noob bought it way back when it was bare bones and just came back to be really impressed with how far along the game has come :)
With timer blocks, yes.
Its pretty easy, mate. The same way u set itens or its functions to a grid hotbar, u will set the timer block actions. For exemple, imagine a situation that u need to extend 2 pistons with a single button, all u need to do is to set the "extend" action of both pistons into a single timer block action bar, then u just need to setup the desired button with the action "trigger now" (to trigger the actions without the countdown) or "start now" (to trigger with the countdown) of that timer block. So, when u hit the button, will trigger the timer block and then both pistons will extend. For more coordinated tasks you can setup timer blocks to call other timer blocks or even itself. Its pretty usefull.
Try turning ON the day/night cycle. I designed it to be used at night btw.
Thats exactly what I've done, mate. Even on the screenshots you can notice the many timer blocks I used on it to make it fully automatic. Every button trigger a timer block that start an automatic sequence.
I didnt see your script yet, could u share it?
Thats exactly what Vaagventje said, its a cheap support structure that also grants a leveled terrain to place anything u need, like the PLS1. Besides that, I personaly like to build a cargo container on that structure with a connector system so I can load the ores on it instead of traveling the drill all the way back to base when full (you can see that on the screenshot too). When the cargo container is full, I use a cargo grid like the CV-132 Orca to bring the ores to the main base.
I actualy do that around my dig sites, but its not for fancy, its more so that my vehicle doesnt acidently drop in. or to ad a grid all teh way downstairs in to your mining hole to extend light or even a small conveyor network to get the ore topside if you mine by hand down there. or for smaller mining ship to dock and lock on to while a bigger vehicle is topside waiting to be loaded.
so yeah in survival it is done. And since its costs you almost nothing more than a few steel plates it usualy is nice to have somekind of structure around your mine. or inside even. like you aint got 10000 steel plates laying Around.
never seen it done anywhere in survial
only seen it for fancy builds and what not
