I see there was an update yesterday, but culture still seems fixed unfortunately. Is there anything I need to do beyond the update to get it working? Thanks for the work, even without the cultural changes the public order and diplomatic effects really improve the campaign.

Update please? Not currently compatible. Wrath needs this mod.

Hey Uncle Billy, I recently noticed this mod is not taking efect on my WoS campaings after patch 20, I'm currently cheking compatibility issues with some other mods that I have for WoS but I was wondering if there's a known uncompatible mod list for this.
I'm using Faction unlock by Toon, Smaller penalties for taking major cities by rafswi, Minor Faction Traits by you, Community Patch by you and Better Rome II Compilation by Nordo, also using Volcano Battle Mod and Uniform Colours Remastered but I don't think those are uncompatible.

....Love your work, thanks... :D

After the removal of culture in Thrones of Britannia, I realised just how important it is to have cultures / ideologies act as a meaningful mechanic in Total War campaigns; the game felt empty without it. Wrath of Sparta still has that exact same problem - even though it lists all of the different cultures, it has absolutely no effect on the campaign; it's just fluff.

So, thanks for making this mod - especially the encroaching Eastern culture - really cool mechanic, that one. Even though it says that the settlement is dominated by a culture in such a short time, I just imagine that the settlement is alleging themselves to that culture group (e.g. Thrones of Britannia, Fall of the Samurai, Rise of the Samurai etc) rather than converting / adopting that culture.

Small update: Added a unique effect to the MESSENIA region: +25% wealth from subsistence, +50% slave unrest.

Great write up! I agree and I'm very glad you enjoy the mod!

Greeks in this period did not see themselves as a monolith like the United States does. Some Greeks even felt more comraderie with Persians than other Greeks (and often even allied with them). A fascinating period in history!

those who claim culture is not important for hellens in WOS, miss one of the most essential reasons behind the peloponnesian war. It was some kind of a class conflictions like marx said. Democracy idea and Oligarchic conservatism were the main causes, aside from the wish for dominance and wealth. So to a point, culture should matter. But of course against a non-hellenic faction it should be much more crucial.

Hi man! Can I use your awesome mod in my future Overhaul (compilation)?

Well said, Justin. My thoughts exactly on the culture mechanic.

try thinking outside a box sometime
justinsane11 10. apr. 2017 kl. 18:26
what exactly do you think all this fighting was about or ever is in the history of the world if everyone veiws everything the exact same and thinks they are all the same people and they are all getting along? they had very different ideas on how to deal with persia, that can go into culture, athenians don't like spartans, so if sparta takes over athens settlement you don't think it would take some time for people to just accept them there and be okay with it? that is basically culture if not completely meaning what it really does in the real world it works perfectly in the confines of the game

if you have to go on wikipedia and look up something 2 mins before you make your comment (which you did thinking it would somehow bolster your argument) maybe realize you have no base knowledge you are working off of and just save it

"NOT HISTORICALLY ACCURATE POLICE" thanks

Sparta has walls in WOS. Could you create a new mod and remove them there,please? It would be more hystorically correct. Thank you beforehead.

@Clown. The Makednoi [Μακεδνοί (in greek)] thus the etymology of Makedon were a dorian tribe according to Herodotus. They were dorians but they settled in northern greece and they had a lot of influences from the balkan tribes(Illyrians Pannonians etc).They were also called "Barbarians" because they werent really liked in Greece.
Working Joe  [ophavsmand] 8. nov. 2016 kl. 11:03
@Clown

Nailed it.
clown 5. nov. 2016 kl. 21:41
even though they all called themselves greek they were still divided culturally, and politically especially along the ethnic lines. Dorian, Ionian, Achaean and so forth. Macedonians and thracians were still considered barbarian during the peloponesian war. Read Thucydides
PAWN 26. okt. 2016 kl. 14:19
@Valk The Odyrsian kingdom, inherited parts of greek cultures but were still considered barbaric to the greeks.
Working Joe  [ophavsmand] 18. okt. 2016 kl. 8:21
Nono your comment was good and thought provoking. It shall stay!
Celtic Lord 18. okt. 2016 kl. 1:18
I disagree as i did look it up before i speak. Nvm, consider i never did my comment. If you want to, delete it.
Working Joe  [ophavsmand] 17. okt. 2016 kl. 17:46
@Valk

I don't understand this argument. Ethnic tensions were very prevalent in Ancient Greece.
Particles 17. okt. 2016 kl. 17:46
@Valkyren Saga not at all there were verious subcultures that were very influencial on how the ancient greeks viewed each other should look it up.
Celtic Lord 16. okt. 2016 kl. 4:41
Nice mod for a more interesting gameplay! Subbed!

Tbh though, this mod is not historically accurate as all factions in the WoS campaign (apart from Persia) are Greeks so they all share already the same culture, language, faith and thus there is no point in converting them.

Spartan Lives Matter
Gyrosmeister 14. okt. 2016 kl. 2:18
It seems a bit weird because all Greeks had basically the same Pantheon. And with religious builidngs converting culutre it feels a bit weird; Although it has sense because of public order and stuff and because in all other campaigns the temples convert. So you keep that mechanic and well done regarding that matter ;)
Working Joe  [ophavsmand] 13. okt. 2016 kl. 15:22
@Toon

Thanks! Sounds good!
