arma got so bloated my old rig could barely run it anymore, ive not been able to maintain this for years, if its genuinely broken by changes i'll see if i or someone alse can update this

i do agree about the advantages of the reskinning approach for a mod like this but after success making a robot head i ran into endless issues doing the body:
the VR suit would be perfect for this but has a non working hidden selection
the base body i did a basic version of but there are asymmetries added to mesh to make body look more organic which played havoc when making robot textures for them
i can upload a dropbox link to the forum post which has the test version of the mod but i can't find the actual image source files. this might be enough for someone else to take on the project as the head and fore arms look decent
I also disagree on them having to be 3D, their texture based nature would make it very easy to adapt them into various gear and uniforms, and would minimize the clipping & weightmapping issues of a new 3d body.
Either way, arma modding is a nightmare and i can't blame you for not wanting to deal with it. I would be happy to see you return when arma 4 becomes a thing, your texture work is rly impressive.
plus since recent DLC performance and lag has gotten prohibitively bad running arma on my system :(
ultimately what i was aiming for the FrithsRobots would be much better achieved by creating new 3d assets rather than my re-skinning approach

the licence should allow derivatives, especially as i've released the source files, i think i've got the wrong licence there... duh... any idea which one i want for a abandoned open source mod?
