For people having issues with old voice mods, it is a 2K issue, and you should be using the XCOM Alternative Mod Launcher instead.
Truly Rudly 19. feb. 2022 kl. 12:35
If there's no way to fix it I get it, but like some others have been saying, I can't see this in the mod list in 2k's launcher. If it's a 2k issue, it would make sense. That said, if there's any known fix for this, that would be awesome. If not, I understand.

I had a nightmare recently where everyone had forgotten the original Half Life 1 radio chatter and instead remembered a world where the HECU soldiers always used the radio chatter from Opposing Force, and I want to save my XCOM 2 from that reality. Please.

Hey Cosmic, any chance you could look at this mod? It's not appearing in the mod list for vanilla or WOTC. Not sure if I'm the only one having the problem though. To test, it's the only mod I currently have installed and it's still not there. Verified files & made sure the voice pack isn't there in the character pool in-game. No joy.

Love this mod man, I think you're the only one who has done this with HL1 voice lines.

doesnt work with wotc for me. :(
Bersimon 5. mar. 2019 kl. 13:36
@Cosmic Castaway A90: Regarding what ihonnyboy said about using the actual speeches as defined in sentences.txt, it's an easy job to replay them in the console with the "speak !SENTENCE_NAME" command (e.g. speak !HG_QUEST0), then you will have the speech playing back exactly as it is in the game.
Four-Orce 5. juni 2018 kl. 6:50
@I SAVED STRATHOLME It works in WOTC. I'm currently using it.
Rylanor 5. juni 2018 kl. 5:04
WOTC compatible soon?
Cosmic Castaway A90  [ophavsmand] 15. okt. 2017 kl. 21:35
Hey Beagle! I actually found them online, and didn't pull them from the game files myself. This is the link I got them from: https://www.sounds-resource.com/pc_computer/halflife/sound/1111/ Hope they work for you!
Beagle 12. okt. 2017 kl. 1:03
Hey Cosmic, where exactly in HL did you extract the voice files for this excellent pack from? I'm looking for them if you have an easy resource.
Cosmic Castaway A90  [ophavsmand] 30. aug. 2017 kl. 16:27
@Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus I don't know, I would assume it wouldn't have too much trouble as it's a voicepack. I haven't gotten WOTC yet though, so I can't tell you for sure. I'd just give it a try and see if it shows up or not.
T'erissk 29. aug. 2017 kl. 23:26
Is this WOTC compatiable?
ihonnyboy 18. juni 2017 kl. 12:01
oh, no I haven't. I'll have a look
Cosmic Castaway A90  [ophavsmand] 18. juni 2017 kl. 11:31
@ihonnyboy I did increase the tempo of all voice lines that I created in the last update, I just didn't make a video to reflect this change. Have you tried the mod out recently? It's probably not 100% accurate to Half-Life, but it is much better than any of the preview videos that are currently up.
ihonnyboy 18. juni 2017 kl. 0:02
@Cosmic Castaway A90
Hey, jsut figured I'd mention this (I know it would be alot of work), but I think you're not recreating the HECU vocies 100% correct. The sentce.txt file in HL1 actually has little additional settings that change the pitch and tempo of the HECU lines, by default they'll sound very slow comapred to how they compare in game. I've already edited togather several of the orginal lines, but I have yet to edit any new lines togather. If you want I can send you the edits and show you want I'm talking about.

@Cosmic Castaway A90
Thanks for the info! There is indeed one, it's a shame that is so loud compared to all the other sounds in the game that it's basically ear rape.
Cosmic Castaway A90  [ophavsmand] 21. jan. 2017 kl. 17:48
@ Deathjester There is already a Black Mesa version of the HECU's voice lines on the workshop, so I don't intend on creating my own at the moment. You can find it here: http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=814788123&searchtext=HECU
Deathjester 21. jan. 2017 kl. 12:29
Thought about doing HECU from the new version of Half life?
Dorfs 4. jan. 2017 kl. 16:36
I was waiting for someone to do this! Perfect :D
Zikaaak 19. dec. 2016 kl. 0:17

Half Life Nostalgia ahhh good times shooting up black mesa and avoiding those god damn trip mines
T'erissk 2. nov. 2016 kl. 19:59
@Cosmic, Awesome ^_^
Take your time.
Cosmic Castaway A90  [ophavsmand] 2. nov. 2016 kl. 19:01
@Beagle
Well I just looked up a youtube video on how to do this with Audacity, and now I know all it takes is one press of a button. I can't believe I didn't bother to just look that up sooner, I was certain it'd be more complicated xD. I'll be working on making an update to this pack as soon as I can, and I'll work to add in some new lines if possible. Thanks a lot for your feedback Beagle, and thank you for your offer to help! I think I'll be able to get this done myself in a few weeks now, so look forward to that update! :D

@Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus
I've thought of that idea a little bit, and I think I'm going to work on making it as soon as I'm finished with the male voices. That'll be a big update though, so don't expect to see it soon. I'll do my best and give it a shot at the very least :)
T'erissk 1. nov. 2016 kl. 1:31
@Beagle, Ah I see what you mean.

Oh hey can this voice pack be used on females too please? that way it isn't awkward when you have say, one male, and a bunch of females in a team (the game loves giving me females, and I shouldn't have to gender change each time)
Beagle 1. nov. 2016 kl. 1:22
@Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus - Yes, they're not meant to sound normal, I know. As the rest of my comment said, what I was talking about is the pace at which they speak, which sounds too slow both for the purposes of someone speaking and in comparison to how they actually spoke in Half Life 1 to boot. Check out this for an example of the same sounding voices but clipped to speak faster.
https://youtu.be/WMF0AuFuUws

@Cosmic Castaway A90 - Audio editing programs definitely have the ability to speed up their speech without raising the pitch. I can try doing so to prove its possible if you can link me a download of the voice files you're using, I'd be happy to help if I can as I love the HECU Grunts and have been waiting for a good pack. Either way thanks for the response! They sound good, it's just that when they should be saying "YES SIR" and they instead say "YESSSS ---- SIRRRRR" it detracts from it for me :P
Cosmic Castaway A90  [ophavsmand] 31. okt. 2016 kl. 22:12
@Beagle
I tried altering the speed of the voice files a bit in the past when I was originally making this, but the voices became much higher pitched as a result. At some point I might give it another try, for now though I'm just keeping them the way they were in the game files. If I find a method that works in the future then I'll make a big update to all the voice lines.
T'erissk 29. okt. 2016 kl. 23:59
@Beagle, their voices were like that in Half Life 1. that was the point -the HECU were supposed to sound like inhuman, government killers sent to kill the player and EVERYONE who wasn' on their side. They weren't supposed to sound "nice" or be identified with.
Beagle 29. okt. 2016 kl. 23:26
This pack seems great but the speed at which they speak seems a bit inhuman. Do you think there's any chance of speeding up their dialogue a bit to the point where it sounds like a more natural pace?
Cosmic Castaway A90  [ophavsmand] 4. okt. 2016 kl. 17:50
@Skwalla
I used the "Classic" camo pattern, color 67 for the primary armor color, and color 125 for the secondary armor color. You need the additional armor colors mod to get the 125 color, I'm not sure about 67.
Skwalla 4. okt. 2016 kl. 14:30
cant figure out what camo pattern u are using and colors ?
Cosmic Castaway A90  [ophavsmand] 17. sep. 2016 kl. 12:57
@Crypt
The altered sounds are from Uejji's Battle Rifle Pack. His pack actually adds in new weapon models for the assault rifles, while making the vanilla assault rifle a heavier battle rifle with differing stats. I highly recommend the pack, and you can find a link to it above in the mod description.
Deep Friar 17. sep. 2016 kl. 12:51
Where did you get the weapon sounds from?
Cosmic Castaway A90  [ophavsmand] 15. sep. 2016 kl. 21:56
The voice pack has been updated, and it isn't even the weekend yet! Check out the discussions page and the update notes for details on what's changed with the pack. I'll be updating the video preview soon too, but for now, please enjoy the new and improved HECU Radio Pack!
∑3245 15. sep. 2016 kl. 13:30
@Cosmic Castaway A90
No problem.

I've gotta remember to add this information in the Voicepack Tutorial, along with stuff from the Music Modding tutorial.
Cosmic Castaway A90  [ophavsmand] 15. sep. 2016 kl. 12:40
@E3245
Thank you so much for that info! I was able to normalize and equalize the volume enough so that the voice lines aren't quite as loud. By the way, your guide on how to create Voice Packs was a massive help for me to create this pack in the first place, and I'm going to be using your guide on how to get the workshop tags to show up on the workshop page as well. Just wanted to thank you for all the help you've given to the community, you rock man! :steamhappy:

@Mutt
And thanks to E3245's help, the "ear-rape" will be lessened with the next update. Rejoice!
∑3245 15. sep. 2016 kl. 8:05
@Cosmic Castaway A90
You can fix the volume issue by normalizing all of the audio files, using Audacity's Chain feature to mass convert. Normalizing it will make the volume consistent for all files.

T'erissk 14. sep. 2016 kl. 18:05
@Cosmic, Aah I can understand that yeah. :)
Hugh Janus 14. sep. 2016 kl. 17:09
Recommended. Especially if you've palyed the first Half-Life. Though ear-rape warning. Perhaps if there were a way to decrease the far too much static in their audio.
Cosmic Castaway A90  [ophavsmand] 14. sep. 2016 kl. 16:39
@A'renax
I agree that I don't want their voices to be super quiet, but I might lower the volume of the pack just a tiny bit. I've found that when I put all my soldiers on overwatch at once with multiple soldiers using my pack, that it tends to blast my speakers a little more than I'd like.

@Postmaster
I did try to speed up some of the lines I pieced together, but their voices become cartoonishly squeaky. I might look into this later down the line, but for now I think I'll get around this by making certain certain lines appear less often than others.

@Oberfuhrer-Razgriz
Yeah, there must be something out there that could work though. It's just a matter of if someone who speaks German wants to make a German voice pack for the game, be it with soldiers or robots.

Once again thank you all for the feedback, it really does help me think about how to make this pack better :D
Postmaster 14. sep. 2016 kl. 16:04
I will say, based on the video you posted, some voices sound like they could be sped up ~10-20%
T'erissk 14. sep. 2016 kl. 12:56
@Cosmic, Ivoted no. Their voices are fine -peopel make too many packs where they mumblel ike british people.
Cosmic Castaway A90  [ophavsmand] 14. sep. 2016 kl. 12:55
Quick announcement, if you haven't already be sure to take a look at the discussion page! If you can spare a minute I'd greatly appreciate you voting on this poll to see if I should lower the volume of the grunts slightly in the next update: http://www.strawpoll.me/11221679

You can find more details on the discussion page I created!

Thank you for all the kind words, keep that feedback coming, I love hearing what you all think of the Voice Pack! :D
Postmaster 14. sep. 2016 kl. 12:33
Fuck yeah this is exactly what I've always wanted!
BE02-Raziel 14. sep. 2016 kl. 2:22
Well, the only other group with German voice files through an exaggerated radio filter that I know of would be "The Saboteur"'s Terror Squad. Though they're a bit of a stretch as I doubt they would have enough voice files for the sound cues on XCOM2 and the lack of variation would make them repetitive.
T'erissk 13. sep. 2016 kl. 21:21
Sure,! I'll download it :)
Thank you!
Cosmic Castaway A90  [ophavsmand] 13. sep. 2016 kl. 20:58
@A'renax
By the way, the secondary color I used for the torso armor on the grunts was 125. If you don't already have it downloaded, you can grab this mod to get that color: http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=629604401&searchtext=more+colors
Cosmic Castaway A90  [ophavsmand] 13. sep. 2016 kl. 20:09
@XxSMOKERxX35
Same here, I think we all needed a badass army of cannon fodder to throw at the aliens :)
GrimVanguard481 13. sep. 2016 kl. 17:56
Really cool man. I was really hoping someone would do this. The Grunts have some of my favorite lines.
Cosmic Castaway A90  [ophavsmand] 13. sep. 2016 kl. 17:12
@A'renax
Nice reference lol
