Best mod on the workshop. Vanilla portrait are horrendous and make me want to puke. Mods that try to fix this, like 'better looking garbs' just don't help.

@isaac.zarbarel Thank you so much ! I tried this fix on my Steam Deck and it worked! Had to open the .zip file (of Anime Portraits) and now I can finally play Egyptian !!!

I was wrong. The problem appears to be that the headgear textures are corrupted.

re: the Egyptian female portrait thing: basically it's missing egyptian_female_clothes.dds and egyptian_female_clothes_behind.dds , and possibly some other stuff

Putting literally any other clothing textures in as those should fix the problem

Anybody know if it's possible for one of the anime portraits to have purple eyes and if so what culture is most likely to have it? I could swear that I saw a character with purple eyes once but never again and now I don't know if I'm going insane or if it actually happened XD

I know it's a big ask on a mod that hasn't been updated for a while for a game that is basically abandoned, but any chance this could be updated for CleanSlate compatibility?

Now, go to Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/mod/animeportraits/interface
Make a copy of portraits_muslim.gfx
Remove the file named portraits_egyptian.gfx
Now rename the copy of portraits_muslim.gfx to portraits_egyptian.gfx.

Side note: If you've unzipped the zip file to make these changes, keep in mind that you may need to rezip the edited folder to get it to actually work.

It's a messy solution, sure, and there's probably a much better way to do it, but for now, this is what I've got.

@NikoCico99 Okay, so it took me a while to figure it out, but I finally got the female Egyptian portrait bug fixed. Sort of, I think.

So, what you do is this:
Go to Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/mod/animeportraits/gfx/characters
Open up muslim_female
Copy everything inside
Go back to the characters folder
Open up egyptian_female
Paste everything inside
Now REMOVE the files named muslim_female_headgear_behind.dds and muslim_female_headgear.dds.
Rename the files named egyptian_female_headgear_behind.dds and egyptian_female_headgear.dds, replacing "egyptian" with "muslim".

I have some nice ripped assets from another game that would do wonders for this mod, but seems its not being worked on after 2019

it would be nice to have the same mod but for AGOT if possible that would be great.

5.Copy all ".dds" files.
6.back to folder "characters"
7.Open folder "egyptian_female"
8.delete all files and
9.Patse .dds files (from muslim_female folder)
10.Paste to "animeportraits\gfx\characters\shared"

I've been playing it with WTWSMS and it works flawlessly in the Late Antiquity setting. I am very impressed with this mod.

is there a way to fix the portraits bc when i play as a muslim it became censored with green and red (both genders but all women compared to half men)

Apart from the mod being a bit cringey another problem is the masks don't really work with the anime faces. The disfigured mask for example looks really odd on these faces.

Literally cant play without this mod anymore. Its just so much cuter and at the same time functional.

I wish there was a AGOT patch that worked but hey, the fact this mod works for regular CK2 is fantastic enough! Thanks for the hard work you put in this mod

This mod is so much better than the potatofaces it's unreal. Is there any way to patch it with Mythos 3?

I've seen and played nearly every anime mod on EU4, HOI4, and Stellaris (the paradox games as you know) and I don't believe a single one tops this. But I do have a request for the creators here, could you make a version of the anime portraits mod for stellaris? Hoi4 and EU4 don't necessarily work the best because they have preset pictures and not changing pictures that are created by new characters but I think this mod would be great on Stellaris since Stellaris has its own phenotype, hair, eye, &tc. like how CK2 does.

If you do read this comment, I greatly appreciate the time you took to read this and I appreciate even more for all the work you've put in to make the CK2 experience a diversified and enjoyable experience.
