checked 07/05/25, the game definitely loads to the main-menu alongside the UI overhaul mod
Numerfolt  [author] 5 May @ 3:28pm
Short answer: Most likely, yes :)
I checked the new files and the variable is still there, thus the mod should still work just fine. I didnt try it myself tho.
lolershark24 5 May @ 3:14pm
does this mod still work?
Numerfolt  [author] 15 Jun, 2024 @ 12:34pm
Just check it out, it should work
pipboy834 27 May, 2024 @ 12:23am

TheDavid 4 Apr, 2024 @ 3:06pm
Moded late game life saver
Numerfolt  [author] 17 Nov, 2023 @ 3:19am
If you are unsure whether this mod works, just give it a try.
I dont update the supported version number anymore, so dont trust your launcher when it warns you that this mod doesnt work anymore.

If it doesnt work anymore, please let me know.
Numerfolt  [author] 10 May, 2023 @ 8:35am
Great!
Kedi 10 May, 2023 @ 8:09am
Thx
I think it works
Numerfolt  [author] 10 May, 2023 @ 2:24am
I'll check and update the version. But probably yes
Kedi 9 May, 2023 @ 11:28am
does this still work?
Numerfolt  [author] 22 Mar, 2023 @ 12:59pm
Oh, sorry, I meant to answer earlier.
To be honest I dont know...

But I would assume that it affects the AI too
RandomIndividual 14 Feb, 2023 @ 3:23pm
Just wondering. Does this also affect the AI?
Numerfolt  [author] 5 Dec, 2022 @ 4:39am
Okay, I just checked ingame and it says that I cant get any achievements.
Numerfolt  [author] 5 Dec, 2022 @ 4:27am
@OZA
To be honest I dont know how that works. But probably yes?
Although when I played Ironman two years ago with the mod enabled I got some achievements (if I remember correctly...)
OZA 4 Dec, 2022 @ 10:21pm
I'm gonna take a wild guess and assume this mod disables achievements?
Numerfolt  [author] 30 Sep, 2021 @ 8:05am
Hey, short answer is: Yes 👍

In the config there is a value that makes the techs more expensive based on how much empire size you are above your admin cap. This mod only reduces this value to 0.

It is called "EMPIRE_SIZE_TECH_COST_PENALTY" and its default value is 0.004
That means that in an unmodded game the technologies will get 0.4% more expensive per Empire Size above 30 (the default admin cap).
E.g. an empire size of 35 will make techs 0.02 = 2% more expensive. 40 is 4%, 100 already 28% and so on.

Yknow, I've been running this mod for a long time, but I've never really properly understood what it does. Where are the research penalties in the normal game? I presume that means the penalty to research speed if you go over your Admin Cap, is that right?
ArchAIngel 11 Mar, 2021 @ 3:26pm
Is pog, thank
TrueGuardian32 7 Nov, 2020 @ 11:23am

Numerfolt  [author] 7 Nov, 2020 @ 10:42am

Balasar 12 Dec, 2019 @ 7:59am

Numerfolt  [author] 5 Jun, 2019 @ 8:58am
Should be fully functional :)
Let me know if anything doesnt work.
HonoredCross 4 Jun, 2019 @ 10:30pm

Numerfolt  [author] 11 Dec, 2018 @ 12:53pm
Numerfolt  [author] 11 Dec, 2018 @ 12:45pm
No, sorry :(
I can create a version for 2.1 if you want tho
Max Yakovlev 11 Dec, 2018 @ 8:32am
Doesn't work with version 2.1 anymore?
jdlech 24 Sep, 2018 @ 6:25am
I aways thought the idea was retarded. At no time, under no circumstance has research ever been held back by expanding populations and number of colonies. It's just not the way the universe works.
BluFalcon 18 Aug, 2018 @ 5:43pm
Thank you so much for this!! The possible benafit of exspansion to reasearch gets worse as you grow in a compounding nature. which makes having a massive research infrstructure almost useless once you pass a point and if you dont waste all your time and resources on it you are left at dead slow research.
abel1717 19 Jul, 2018 @ 8:59am
Thanks for the time you dedicated to this mod. Common sense indicates this should be an in-game feature and your mod is correcting that omission. I still do not see the logic in penalizing science for expanding empires that many 4x games adopt.
Numerfolt  [author] 9 Jun, 2018 @ 2:08pm
Thanks for letting me know this! I try to fix this right now, but my internet is really bad atm. It's only because its descriptor file still states that it is only suitable for version 2.0.*
I don't know why it affects your keyboard controls, because it only changes four lines in the technology section of the "defines" file. But I'll check if it works for me
Zero__1_3 9 Jun, 2018 @ 1:09pm
It also, for whatever reason, caused my keyboard controls to stop working altogether.
Zero__1_3 9 Jun, 2018 @ 1:07pm
Whenever I go to select mods to load before starting stellaris proper, for this mod it says that it is incompatable with 2.1, that it only supports 2.0. This is also true for your mod Overall Research Improve. Don't know what could be causing it, since I don't have any other mods that effect research.
Blu Macaw 11 Mar, 2018 @ 9:15am
really good mod. what's the point of having more people to research and make this research slower right? ik ik balance, but it's illogical. Now it will be more realistic game.
Numerfolt  [author] 8 Mar, 2018 @ 11:58am
Yeah, I am still working on it, will update it asap :)
rickreptile 7 Mar, 2018 @ 3:45am
hope you can manage the update, always hated the penalties, this mod is a blessing
Numerfolt  [author] 17 Feb, 2018 @ 6:06pm
When I have the time to and can dig into the new system, I will do that
>>Babycakes<< 17 Feb, 2018 @ 6:03pm
Will you make an official update to work with 2.0 when it drops?
Numerfolt  [author] 9 Feb, 2018 @ 4:07pm
Thanks, it's always nice to hear that people like it :)
