With the permission of the author of this mod and the source files he kindly shared I was able to revive the concept and idea of this mod here:

Please enjoy!

Please update, this would be awesome!
Aharo 25. aug. 2021 kl. 15:50
Wow this would be amazing!

It's only the modders (god bless'em) that are keeping this game breathing. Not fully alive - but still breathing.
Terrorhörnchen 21. dec. 2020 kl. 19:12
This mod never get an update, because the game is dead. The game will also never get an update.
titanius anglesmith 16. dec. 2020 kl. 23:38
can you pretty plzzz update this ?
Arne1996 11. juni 2020 kl. 13:58
Can you update the Mod to the Gameversion 0.8?
Jonat 29. mar. 2020 kl. 11:18
Now that there are no more updates to MedEng, is there any better time to update this mod ? :) So many blocks here that are missing in the game and will never comeback without you! :(
You stated: " Besides, investment in modding goes in hand with interest for the game, and like you said it hasn't and won't be receiving updates for a long while. This mod for me was pretty much 20% making fun new blocks, and 80% fixing things because of updates breaking them, it gets really tiring really fast honestly."
Well, there are no more updates planned for ever for MedEng, so they wont bug your mod anymore! :) Win Win for you and us :)
Hope to see this updated:)

From what the forums show it's been put on "hold" until their other title, space engineers, has been finished.
MacBaldwin 18. feb. 2020 kl. 17:22
Is the game still even being developed? Because to be blunt, the developers are really doing it at a sluggish pace. I've been waiting for a major update for so long that I actually thought Medieval Engineers was abandoned. Which is such a shame, This game has SO MUCH potential!
SpecTRe_X 15. feb. 2020 kl. 7:48
Their treatment of this title has been fairly abysmal in general. If they weren't ready to devote the man power to a new title they should have finished developing space engineers first before splitting their manpower.
Rubber Sword 15. feb. 2020 kl. 5:29
@tacot44 I agree with you. It would be wonderful if somebody, anybody, would pick up the modders baton and continue with this line of fantastic blocks. The potential of producing more really really useful castle building items is so good. Unfortunately I don't have the faintest idea of how to mod (lots of great ideas on what to mod). It is a crying shame that Keen treats the creativity of modders, like @Ayliroe, so badly.

Hello
I often play medieval engineers because I particularly appreciate the spirit of construction. I like to test mods and I pay tribute to those who make them. I am not a prog specialist, I know nothing, but I am passionate about the fortifications of the Middle Ages. In this game, there are nevertheless oddities of dimension, such as coarse machicolations, no archers typical of strong castles and it also misses a small spiral staircase which could fit into the wall (in the large square block for example).
Also, for the talented prog, there is work.
And it's up to us, the players, to encourage you and promote your work.

Continue if you can, I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks so

PS: I trust google for the translation from French to English.
Xaerthus 13. feb. 2020 kl. 22:07
@Ayliroé
Hm, would you consider sharing the mods assets somewhere then? I very much liked to use this mod back in the day and since i have now some moddeling experience myself and i really don't like the non-functional vanilla parts i may at least try to revive it. Don't want to make any promises though, this would be a lot of slow work.

Also, there is one good side to the game being more or less abandoned now. At least there won't be any more updates to break stuff.
Ayliroé  [ophavsmand] 13. feb. 2020 kl. 13:23
I understand that many people would like this mod updated, but like I previously said, updating it would require a total rework of all the assets to fit the new vanilla models, plus an overhaul of the script files. I'm really not a modeler, and I don't have the patience nor the skill to redo the numerous models in this mod to the new quality standards of the game.
Besides, investment in modding goes in hand with interest for the game, and like you said it hasn't and won't be receiving updates for a long while. This mod for me was pretty much 20% making fun new blocks, and 80% fixing things because of updates breaking them, it gets really tiring really fast honestly.
tacot44 13. feb. 2020 kl. 9:40
Yes, following the transition to version 7, there are mods that have not been updated. And as the game has not moved for a year, we can fear the abandonment of this game and it's a shame
SpecTRe_X 12. feb. 2020 kl. 19:39
I'm not surprised that it hasn't been updated. It sounds like these mods are a decent bit of work to make functional and then they're doing that work for a game that isn't finished and can change at any moment. Sad but an issue that stems from the devs more than the modders. :/
tacot44 12. feb. 2020 kl. 13:51
good evening
I waited a long time before deciding to write to you. I am French and I hope that the Google translation will be faithful to this email.
I was using your mods with version 6 of medieval, but with version 7, this mod is incompatible. I was waiting for your update, but I feel like you have given up. It's really a shame, because it brought a significant added value to achieve more real construction. In addition, archers are worthy of the name.
It would be so nice if this mod could work with version 7.
And if this message remains unanswered, it does not matter, it does not detract from the quality of this mods.
See you soon, I hope.
Jonat 24. juli 2019 kl. 9:31
Any Chance to update it? Its the best mod for ME and the only one that makes the game playable. Without your diagonal blocks this game is just nonesense. Please?
Aecnoril-Chopper 5. juli 2019 kl. 5:39
Flat roofs, flat roofs!
MacBaldwin 26. mar. 2019 kl. 22:52
Fuck. Without your mod, I lost my interest on playing and following the never-ending development of this game. I stopped playing awhile ago because every damn time I built an awesome castle using mods, the devs would come with an update that f*cked the whole world. And now no more mods...
Shit. It was good while it lasted. But without your blocks, the game is pretty much dead to me.
Emperor_Peter 7. mar. 2019 kl. 7:47
@Kitty La-Führer can you read?
Zalfeon 7. mar. 2019 kl. 7:44
hi are you going to update this mod
doom_juan 26. feb. 2019 kl. 8:56
This was by far among the best mods on ME, it fixed so many problems.
Xaerthus 23. feb. 2019 kl. 9:16
@Yliroe I do know what you mean. But building castles can be fun for itself. And your amazing mod added so many more possibilities we do not have with the main game.
I do understand that it is pointless to create mods for a game you don't feel to be playing anymore, but I (and probably many others too) would happily donate to you for your work if you would choose otherwise.
And if not, maybe you could get in touch with wolfgar7474? He did so many wonderful mods and would maybe be interested in reviving this one.
Cyborg_Patat 22. feb. 2019 kl. 13:29
@Yliroe I understand your frustration on the matter. The update, be it improving textures, kinda screwed my projects, as I was relying on mods a lot. Keen should have worked with you to implement the assets a long time ago. Is there a chance you could talk with them to work something like them paying you for the assets, so they can develop and implement them in the game?
R3v 20. feb. 2019 kl. 6:53
For the love of God man we need this mod...Keen should have at least included some of your blocks in the release.
Darkbane 19. feb. 2019 kl. 10:54
@Yliroe I like that the Machicolations aren't 1 entire block long anymore, but that's about the only good this update has done. It's insane how much they just screwed everyone over for no good reason as well. They didn't even bother to put in blocks that are essential like a bloody diagonal wall.
[Ger] Silent Death 18. feb. 2019 kl. 10:14
they shoudn´t kill of systems like this, it should be vanilla anways I don't understand why Keen always relies so much on Mod Authors.
Like in space engineers were they introduced long window blocks (1*2 system without adding the needed parts of 2 by 2 for a proper connection to 1 by 1 )
:(
GreatBeard 16. feb. 2019 kl. 7:04
"There is bloody nothing to do! You build castles to fight off waves of nobody, invade and conquer nothing and rule eternally over lands devoid of life."
My thoughts exactly. Hopefully they add life and challenges other than building. Like a real AI!
Anyway, just to say, I loved this mod, and I used it a lot. Thank you for making it, and lets hope there's new things on the horizon for ME.
Emperor_Peter 15. feb. 2019 kl. 16:08
@Yliroe - I definitely agree, the platforms and machicolations should bee dressed stone blocks (like the arche of the wooden gate) and the arrow slits DEFINITELY look better.

And the whole "devoid of live thing" kills me too, but it is still an alpha...come back in a year or two and let's see what they've done. Loved your blocks while they lasted, and hopefully this is the last time they kill off systems like this
Ayliroé  [ophavsmand] 15. feb. 2019 kl. 12:10
Last thing to make note of: The game's new arrowslits look much more correct, but platforms and machicolations are now even less coherent than before, with disproportionate thicknesses and unsupported stones everywhere. It's really not rocket science that stones don't fly.
Ayliroé  [ophavsmand] 15. feb. 2019 kl. 12:09
As such, I only ever played to create castle designs, meaning I've been dependent on the available blocks to get interested. I already hadn't played in a long time because I got tired out of it after a while, and now that my mod and many others I was used to are broken, I've just got no reason to play whatsoever, new graphics or not.
This feels the exact same as with Minecraft 1.7.10, the game without mods doesn't fit me at all. If the game remains both as devoid of building content and of meaningful progression, that probably won't change in a long while.

If someone wants to remake the whole mod in my stead, I'll happily give them the source files. If you can help with at least the models, I can tackle the implementation.
Ayliroé  [ophavsmand] 15. feb. 2019 kl. 12:09
The new visuals are amazing, so much so that revamping this mod is now totally beyond my patience, coupled with the removal of the multiblocks system (which from my perspective had only one result: breaking every mod that uses them).

I like the new content, but it fixes nothing to what holds me from wanting to play (and by extension mod) the game: There is bloody nothing to do! You build castles to fight off waves of nobody, invade and conquer nothing and rule eternally over lands devoid of life.
MacBaldwin 15. feb. 2019 kl. 11:54
Keen Softwarehouse should have made this mod cannon long ago.
R3v 15. feb. 2019 kl. 10:43
Any plans on remaking it for .7 I have a world based on your awesome mod I really don't want to lose it :(
Eligos 15. feb. 2019 kl. 7:13
Mod are currently Broken? all blocks are not placeable :-(
Emperor_Peter 28. jan. 2019 kl. 18:49
@Krelmulon - you can rotate the stone pillar to be horizontal, no need for an extra block. Or did you mean something else?
Krelmulon 28. jan. 2019 kl. 15:28
Can you add a top piece of stone to make the stnadard arch wider? I can't seem to find this piece anywhere and would really like it for the currnt build I am working on. Great mod by the way.
Eyeandan 22. okt. 2018 kl. 18:00
might i suggest adding a large inverted round wall / foundation / battlements?
Ayliroé  [ophavsmand] 11. okt. 2018 kl. 15:23
@Dingus Stinkfinger (what a name) - STORI3D PAST Productions did such a mod for a previous game version: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=770916510 Last time I made animated blocks they worked for 1 month until the updatehammer fell, so I prefer making only things that won't have to be constantly fixed.
Dingus Stinkfinger 11. okt. 2018 kl. 8:15
I'm trying to get a modder interested in making secret doors. One that looks like a standard wall, but turn a torch and a secret door opens. Something to that effect. Any chance you'd be interested or could suggest someone?
Rubber Sword 5. okt. 2018 kl. 18:57
Thank you, as you say "this will do" - much appreciated. I look forward with anticipation to a true V shaped block. In the meantime this is a really great help. :-)
Ayliroé  [ophavsmand] 5. okt. 2018 kl. 16:07
@Rubber Sword - Done, but as a basic compound of the two existing blocks. One day I'll probably make a true V shape one like you proposed, but for now this will do.
Rubber Sword 5. okt. 2018 kl. 6:12
@Yliroe - if you look at castle plans, arrowslits in thick walls are often at the apex of a V shape 'cut' into the wall. Previously I used an Arch block with your lovely arrowslit block connected to it, to roughly represent this, however the vanilla arch block no longer accepts other blocks. So, I was wondering if you would make a block of a cube with the V cut into it and an arrowslit at the end? Cheers.
titanius anglesmith 1. okt. 2018 kl. 6:38
oh ok
Ayliroé  [ophavsmand] 1. okt. 2018 kl. 6:37
Just placing them crashed the game.
titanius anglesmith 1. okt. 2018 kl. 6:32
no ?
how can you even troll pll with windows ?
Ayliroé  [ophavsmand] 1. okt. 2018 kl. 6:28
Somehow I feel that you used them to troll people on servers^^
titanius anglesmith 1. okt. 2018 kl. 6:22
animated door/shutter removal !!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOESS!!!!!!! REEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
