I like the idea, but I don't think it actually looks very good the way it's implemented.

This looks nice, but maybe you could make it tied to the person wearing it, and make it float off when the carrier dies, that would be cool

Not bad for a first item. The only complaint i have about this is that the rope is not tethered to the Mercenary wearing it.
