Amazing mod, however and updated version would be nice
CuoreNero 7. jan. 2022 kl. 17:20
When I play with the Timurids or the Middle East the mod doesn't work, I have the old advisors. How can I go about solving?
Matata 22. sep. 2019 kl. 21:12
Hi. Is this mod compatible with MEIOU and taxes?
ntvinh11586 22. aug. 2019 kl. 3:20
does this mod still work?
Tunch Khan 16. maj 2018 kl. 10:40
Great mod. Hope you add more to the diversity. There are currently two Ottoman Emperors (Abdulaziz and Mahmud II) among the portraits. :) Maybe you can replace them with other images?
cody 20. mar. 2018 kl. 14:32
Great mod, works good.
AliceInDystopialand 13. mar. 2018 kl. 6:44
this mod works perfectly without it needing to be updated, so it doesn't really need an update...
Kvastral 27. feb. 2017 kl. 7:49

Nicely collated and done. o7
user12343  [ophavsmand] 12. okt. 2016 kl. 8:40
@Xangelo7
No, not really. I actually just don't play with the Women in History DLC so I don't have female advisors.
I'd be happy to talk someone through how to make them, but it isn't a project I would be invested in.
Xangelo7 12. okt. 2016 kl. 8:35
any plans for the female ad visors because it feels a little out offhand playing as china seeing a european female advisor
user12343  [ophavsmand] 12. okt. 2016 kl. 8:29
@Xangelo7
This mod is compatible with 1.18, but I haven't updated the file to indicate that, so the game launcher will show it as outdated.
Xangelo7 11. okt. 2016 kl. 20:04
is this compatible with 1.18 update ?
user12343  [ophavsmand] 1. sep. 2016 kl. 5:54
@VityViktor
If you want to make some, I can talk you through how to do it
You need a basic familarity with a program like GIMP or Photoshop.
VityViktor 1. sep. 2016 kl. 5:46
@user12343
Ok, thanks for answering. :/
user12343  [ophavsmand] 1. sep. 2016 kl. 5:38
Updated to include North American portraits
user12343  [ophavsmand] 31. aug. 2016 kl. 15:48
@VityViktor
No sorry
VityViktor 23. aug. 2016 kl. 5:54
Any plans on adding female advisors?
user12343  [ophavsmand] 16. aug. 2016 kl. 17:12
Alright well I am happy to say I have a solution for north american advisors. You can see it in the images. Steam workshop is being difficult so it won't be uploaded right now. Hopefully soon.

I also made some small changes in the Muslim advisors and Inuit advisors will use asian advisor portraits. Inuit only really applies to a few of the far eastern siberian tribes.
user12343  [ophavsmand] 16. aug. 2016 kl. 6:52
@陳天宇
Sorry you don't like the ratio of paintings to culture.
I've actually used quite a few ethnically Chinese paintings taken from public domain ancestor portraits (more than 2).

I don't find the ethnic ratio argument very persuasive, but I'd appreciate any assistance in finding better quality paintings.
Portrochen 16. aug. 2016 kl. 0:15
Dude, I have to say the asian part of ur mod is not very approirate, you used too many korean, manchu or Japanese paintings. Ming China has the largest breauratic system and there are only two paintings, and they are actually the paintings of emperors, thus I suggest you should add more painting Ming Chinese advisors. I am a historical student come from Asia, if you need some help, please let me know. :steamfacepalm:
user12343  [ophavsmand] 11. aug. 2016 kl. 6:36
@comrade
You are welcome, I hope you enjoy it
user12343  [ophavsmand] 11. aug. 2016 kl. 5:34
@0nly1likeme
Like in EU3? That would be pretty cool. Would be a lot of work, I'm not quite up for. Changes to the gui seem to always end up being voided by subsequent updates.
user12343  [ophavsmand] 11. aug. 2016 kl. 5:33
@God Emperor Trump
It would be possible to do something like that, but would be a bit of work. The mod matches advisor portrait style to unit graphic type. So you would need to create a set of new unit graphic types for each culture, have ET switch countries to them at some point, and then you would get the new portraits.

Good luck!
0nly1likeme 10. aug. 2016 kl. 18:19
This is so cool
But we should try to add king and queen /prince and princess portraits
Anstette 10. aug. 2016 kl. 16:25
Just an idea, would be nice if you could incorporate the extended timeline mod with this. Example being modern portraits with 20th and 21st century. Very nice mod :)
comrade 10. aug. 2016 kl. 4:33
thank you for making a beautiful mod
user12343  [ophavsmand] 9. aug. 2016 kl. 6:32
@Ravelli
Thanks, glad you enjoy it
user12343  [ophavsmand] 9. aug. 2016 kl. 6:32
@3rdKGL Zarovich
@jeanquit
Catlin has great material, thanks for mentioning. Unfortunately, same issue with copywrite. The current license specifies that images may not be altered.

I'll keep looking.
Ravelli 8. aug. 2016 kl. 3:13
makes a huge difference when playing with non western countries. Lok better than the original portraits too. Thanks
user12343  [ophavsmand] 7. aug. 2016 kl. 6:39
@3rdKGL Zarovich
Thanks very much I'll take a look at Catlin.
I've look at some of the murals (for the first time actually). Beautiful. I'm just not sure the style will work. The people in the murals are very stylized, and you get a very different look. Visually I just don't think it fits for the advisor portraits. Perhaps for all my pretensions what I really want is European portraiture... ha.

@3rdKGL Zarovich
@jeanquit
There seems to be enough material from modern painters for north american, but I don't know if I can navigate the copy write issues. None of the modern images I've seen are public domain. I'll look at Catlin.
souj 6. aug. 2016 kl. 17:38
@user12343 For North American Natives, I've found George Catlin who did portraits during the mid-1850s. However similar to what jeanquit said he is european meaning his paintings will correspond with that style. For Mesoamerican's you could look at Pre-Columbian murals, however I guess these would be small in number, but they will give a more authentic feel. For Incans the only portraits I could find was that of the "14 portraits of Inka Kings" in Peru
Lodbro 6. aug. 2016 kl. 15:32
@user12343
Thanks for the perms, I will get back to you when it is done!
user12343  [ophavsmand] 6. aug. 2016 kl. 13:30
@Basileus of Fezzan
Yea, there are only so many quality paintings that will fit for Muslims in the period. I wish I had more options.

@Dmitri⁴
I don't think so, but I'm not 100%

@PC Police
Of course, thanks for asking. Go ahead and post a link here when it is included so I can see what kind of things you have (just for my own interest)
Lodbro 6. aug. 2016 kl. 11:38
Heyo, can I use this in my modpack? You will be credited and a link will be given.
scally wag⁴ 6. aug. 2016 kl. 9:33
Is this mod Ironman compatible?
Atmorans 6. aug. 2016 kl. 9:28
Making Ottoman sultans advisors since 1444
user12343  [ophavsmand] 6. aug. 2016 kl. 7:20
@jeanquilt
Thanks, I'll take a look.
Going with modern artist might be a good option that I haven't really explored.
user12343  [ophavsmand] 6. aug. 2016 kl. 7:18
@Ghozt
This works fine for Vijaynagar for me. Yes I have done Indian.
Maybe an install problem or a mod conflict.
Are you using another mod which also provides advisor portraits?

To test it try loading with just IAP active.
hoops 5. aug. 2016 kl. 18:04
Unfortunately, there's not a lot of actual paintings of Native Americans/First Nations people, and there's little to none by Native artists, especially period. You might have some luck with more contemporary artists like James Ayers or Karen Noles (though I think she mainly paints kids?) but I'm pretty sure they're both white. Not sure about any sources at all for Mesoamerican or Andean cultures.
Ghozt 5. aug. 2016 kl. 18:02
This doesnt work with Vijaynagar, you have done India right?
user12343  [ophavsmand] 5. aug. 2016 kl. 13:14
If anyone knows of painters from the time period of the game 1400-1800 that did a lot of work with native populations in the American please let me know. Love to round this out with north central and south american advisors.
user12343  [ophavsmand] 5. aug. 2016 kl. 13:05
Update live
Changes to western, eastern and asian portraits
Removed all monarchs (well mostly) and replaced with others
user12343  [ophavsmand] 5. aug. 2016 kl. 6:22
@fryslan0109
Thanks, I'll give them a look
