There is a lot of B5 ship sets, and B5 convertion mod is also in the work.

It's too bad there aren't more people aware of this show. It was truly fantastic with superb acting. It had such an enigmatic feel to it, and it really gave the viewer a sense of the timeless vastness of space and time. On the one end, you had relatively infantile races like humans with their cute little ships and childlike technology, and on the other hand, you had species that were millions upon millions of years old and whose technology was virtually godlike in its power. Science becomes religion and religion becomes science. They become one and the same thing depending on your point of view. Over the years there have been multiple attempts to mod various games to the B5 universe. Most of them have gone nowhere, and none of them have gone very far. B5 would absolutely make a fantastic mod of Stellaris.

I guess this show is just too damn old now for there to be enough of a fanbase amongst modders these days. Sad, but that's the way it goes I guess.

ah ok, if you add me as friend i can give you some more infos too - its very good, works solo offline, and even multiplayer too :)
(the only thing missing is 3d realtime space combat, but you get some 2d static screens instead)

Thanks for the tip on Space Empires IV - of course, that and Space Empires V is on sale for US$4. Got it! I think the last time I played this series was in the 90s. I probably got it from J&R, too. Any New Yorkers out there? Birth of the Empires looks great, too, but it hasn't been updated since 2018. Between this and learning to play Hearts of Iron IV, I've got my work cut out for me!

@tavyk - yes, remember Birth of the Federation? Such a wealth of lore in the B5 universe, I'm hoping the intro screens for Stellaris is foreshadowing a new deal with Warner and JMS to do justice to the amazing universe he created.

Stellaris would be the perfect base to make a Babylon 5 game, it has great diplomacy and management systems that would work really well with the Shadows as a late-game event but it's a shame this mod isn't being updated anymore...
