@Zetnus : Did you know that the work "Bug" in IT comes directly from the insect. When there were the first computers that took entire rooms, the heat and light was attracting moths and other bugs that got stuck in the computer and creating current discharges, resulting in "bugs" ;)

Oh I had some fun before finally deciding to produce a bug with the letters

. First I changed it to read HORROR. Then I tried some color RNG, but I couldn’t get that blink periodically like the normal red version does. I also turned it into a mostly invisible shadow by using the technique from the shadow tank and shadow witch.

now y'all got me curious and thinking...
I've also seen BLUE colored ERROR models in other Source games...
for example, might've been "newer" versions such as Portal 2.
Also, I've even seen it missing its own textures...
ERROR model actually missing its own textures... it's actually kind of funny.

The texture on the ERROR sign can be modded though. I tried out your color RNG on it and that worked.

@Ellie - So I actually tried modding the missing texture texture just now but it didn't work. Perhaps the game doesn't allow mods for textures in the debug folder. Or maybe the mod would work if there was a model that actually used that texture on purpose, but whenever the game has to fall back to a debug texture it picks the default. I'm not sure.

@Zetnus : For the texture, I tried this back in the day, but didn't suceed.
Seeing your mod however makes me thing, an addon that turns that shit invisible would be a nice idea.

@Valtierre - I can't actually make the "missing texture" texture be 3D because it's just a texture. But it might be possible reskin it to look different. Maybe some sort of geometric pattern that looks 3D.

@Ryan - I bought Gmod during the recent sale but have not tried it yet. It should be very easy to port though - probably just a matter of changing the addonSteamAppID in the addoninfo.txt

Just started playing that again recently.
Could you maybe figure out how to "port" it there?
Probably not much different, if at all, it's still the Source engine.
