yeah in the original you had to because it was an energy pellet, not a laser. i think that had something to do with it.

Nice map pack. However in this one you totally don't have to use that elevator/platform coming up from the water. I've completed Portal 1 long time ago but I suppose it was usable somehow.

yeah i noticed a while back. i figured that i'll just leave it to discourage people from doing it, but leave it so its still possible.

You didn't really fix the flinging shortcut. It's still manageable. This collection is wonderful, by the way.

These tests are very accurate, right down to the bypassability. However, you should have sacrified that so people could admire the attention to deail. I ran this whole course again after bypassing it.

People always take the cheating route because it makes you feel smarter if you out smart the test. That's why people are always so determined to steal cubes. That and when you steal the cube in Portal GLaDOS says "You're not a good person you know that right?" which is supposed to come during the escape.

If you listen to the commentary on Portal 1, they mention that they knew about the shortcut long before they released the game but decided to leave it in anyways. So if you want to keep this true to the original then you should probably do the same. tbh I can't tell if you're trying to say you took the shortcut out or not but it's still there cause I can still get to the exit without running the course.

yeah but i've had like 5 people make some comment about "i bypassed the whole course by slinging" instead of just opting not to sling and to enjoy the remake. so since people are usually terrible at changing, i just made it so they HAVE to go through the entire course

If you are trying to be true to the game, you should put a portal surface in fromt of the vertical lift, because you have to notice how to do it.
