@Kevin Kerman, this game isn't meant to be set in habitable environments and therefore does not get affected if it's merely put in a challenge that LOOKS like Earth. You can't complain about a feature the game isn't meant for...if it bugs you that much let's just say the atmosphere is different.

There will be plenty of worlds within 1000 parsecs that look like Earth but have atmospheric pollutants, plant life and soil based on dextro-amino acids, are radioactive, or have dangerous microbial life. There are a thousand reasons why a planet might look habitable but is actually harmful or even lethal. A world orbiting a gas giant with tidal forces so profound the sea might be 100 miles away but will deafen colonists.
