This mod is causing my server to have connection problems and forcing me to restart it. I know this because since it was removed, never happened again. I love this mod so much, it is WAY WAY better than going with...bleh.....vanilla drills

You know it's been a while. If it's mostly been abandoned, since I've not seen any updates in some time, I'd be more than willing to pick this up and update it. Or at least keep it tended to during the interim.

Assuming the trio here give a go-ahead, or just... ya know... Don't care.

I'm pretty much asking for permission to try my hand at keeping this running.

On a second note Gwind, all you have to do is up the range of the drill.

The beam drill does work, however the turret currently has a range or 4 meters, really the drill turret now is used up close, and is still somewhat functional. A fix for this, or at least seeing a Toolcore remake, would be amazing.

Found a Huge bug when I go to use the Beam drill it kicks me out, After it kicks me out I can no longer control the drill.

Manually using the drill turret does not work, no ores collected, no voxels destroyed. And just Like Red Bull said, resource filter breaks this mod entirely.

Working fine for me. If you're using Weaponcore it's going to say the AI targeting radius is 4m, but you can ignore that and it still works fine.

Same, game crashes when placing the beam drill turret. It corrupted one of my worlds and I had to restart. Which is really unfortunate, because it *was* working just fine for several hours.

Not sure if its just me or if my world is somehow overloaded or what, but it keeps crashing my game. The beam drill itself is fine, but the moment I try to place down the turret in creative (onto the beam drill base) the game just freezes up and then immediately crashes.

The model is of one from EVE Online, which is nice because I like their Mining Laser models. Would appreciate power usage to not be so high, and would love to see the "Deep Core" Mining Laser Model added, and can you make them both available for small grid? Also, can you make them be compatible with more than one? Imagine having a Hulk from EVE Online, with its actual mining lasers.

does this require any other mods? When i activate the drill, it spins but doesnt mine. Also if others want to try the mod, put wheels all around the drill its so heavy lol.

Can we get an update? Perhaps one that doesn't change the behavior of all ore detectors. It is also interfering with the Nanite Control Facility mod. :steamfacepalm:

Does the drill turret not work with custom ores? or with modded ore detectors? If I turn off priority mining I can manually aim and fire the laser, but outside of this, the turret is not working for me at all. WC is installed as it is part of our weapon mods. I was hoping this would be a good alternative to the drill-n-fill, but this isn't working at the moment.

The following method is firing every now and then and causing lag. I don't even have any of the laser drill items built. It is throwing "IndexOutOfRangeException" many times.

Okay so to expand from trial-and-error:

If you have Weapon Core mod installed, the manual function of the drill no longer works correctly.

-Manual aiming and firing of the turret doesn't work AT ALL. Will not dig, will make shooting sound, but is not active.

-Firing WITHOUT turret as far as I can see destroys all ores and stone. No collection happens.

However!

-Firing WITH a turret using automatic collection DOES collect, DOES target ores, and seems perfectly okay.

So if you use weapon core, don't use it manually. Use it ONLY for automatic collection.

I bet there are many willing to keep this mod.
Eliminating bugs, incompatibilities, optimizing, updating model.
And maybe even make a repair laser variant.
But please, no Weapon Core dependencies. Or with him if you have no other way.

OK, the "collect stone" setting does work. Just uncheck that (on the beam drill base) and it will no longer get stone.

OK, after experimenting a pretty long time, it's working, more or less. The priority-mining doesn't seem to work, turned that off. I have to get within about 30 meters of the ore, it ignores stone but is still picking some up along with the other ore.

Doesn't detect ore / start mining, always states there is no ore in range. I have an ore detector that has 2x the range that the ore is currently at, the ore type (uranium in this case) is in the priority list at the top.

Great concept and I really like that the high power drain somehow balances it.
Fits perfectly into the hig-sci-fi modlist I love in end-game, even wirthout the turret (because of WC issues)
Its a shame that have to hanle it with so much care because of performence/stability.
Hope with keen´s next engine, voxels will become less of a mess xD
