How could this be made dynamic. so the game, the longer it goes on for, will create more names. Like names from conquered provinces, advisors, rulers, heirs, admirals, generals etc.

Texas names would be great, you can play them from April 1836 in ET, they're absorbed by the US in 1846 if you look for them after that and they're not there

Cool. Will do it, then.

Anyone know how to set the title picture on a mod? When I try it just leaves it blank.
MainCHARActer 18. dec. 2016 kl. 19:11
@Deutschbag If you look down at the comments Hamaja said "Do whatever you will, honestly. As long as you give me credit for my work, I'm happy. I don't think this mod is going to be updated much more anyways. :)" when asked if someone could use this mod for their mod. I think you should be OK as long as you give due credit.
mdk31 16. dec. 2016 kl. 19:57
Is this mod going to be updated for 1.19? If not, do you mind if I go ahead and update it myself and re-upload the new versions (giving credit to you of course)?

@Hamaja
I really like this mod, thanks for doing this.

I’ve got a local version which combines your changes to the country files with another mod that changes country colors (both changes to the same files).

I’d like to release it as a kind of patch, allowing the user to get the benefits of both changes. (Would still require both mods but effectively replace both sets of files). What do you think?
Kaiser Wilhelm 10. juni 2016 kl. 15:08
I actually got it working, I thought it would apply to ships already created as well, so I was in the wrong. I love the mod, I hated having to rename all my ships because they kept getting named "Transport IV" and such. Thanks a lot man!
Lufthansi  [ophavsmand] 10. juni 2016 kl. 0:28
I'm not sure, but that's easy to check for yourself. Go through the two mods and see if there's any file overlaps between them. My mod only changes the country files alone, so it should be easy for you to do.
Kaiser Wilhelm 7. juni 2016 kl. 12:09
Are there any mod incompabilities? I can't seem to get it to work. Is it because of Extended Timeline?

Lufthansi  [ophavsmand] 19. maj 2016 kl. 8:07
Just did. Completely forgot about the patches. Added post-Meji Japanese names as well. (Slightly unhappy about that, but hey)

Will you update the mod?
Flux5000 10. maj 2016 kl. 23:32
work it in MP ?
EmreK 5. maj 2016 kl. 17:21
Btw, I looked at the Ottoman names, they are mostly correct except some Turkish characters, but game already doesn't support Turkish characters like ş,ı,ü,ö etc. so they are true and changing them wouldn't help you on the game.
The First Captain 5. maj 2016 kl. 12:36
Any chance for ship names for the celts
Lufthansi  [ophavsmand] 5. maj 2016 kl. 7:40
Of course! I've always been a big fan of M&T, and seeing this mod incorporated in it brings me nothing but joy.
Khronokrator 1. maj 2016 kl. 17:11
Hey Hamaja, I'm a huge fan of the work you've done here. Having more ship names really adds a lot to naval-themed nations. Do you think we might be able to use your mod in M&T, with full credit to you of course?
Tunch Khan 21. apr. 2016 kl. 14:43
The names look fine to me. Most Turkish special characters would get lost during being converted to game files anyway so this seems to be a good representation of Ottoman ship names. Thanks for the mod.
EmreK 21. apr. 2016 kl. 9:22
Oh it's Excel okay..
EmreK 21. apr. 2016 kl. 9:20
Bro I wish I could knew how to open this .xlsx format lol
Lufthansi  [ophavsmand] 21. apr. 2016 kl. 1:02
That would be wonderful. Here's the ledger:

If you could send me back a corrected version of the Ottoman names, I'd be forever grateful.
Tunch Khan 19. apr. 2016 kl. 18:39
I'd be happy to help you with Otto ship names as well. :)
EmreK 16. apr. 2016 kl. 22:38
Idk if I can help but, I would happily try to help you on Ottoman ship names.

KatiyaAdmiral8 23. mar. 2016 kl. 14:00
Ah. I use the Extended Timeline mod, so I generally don't care so much about it. Perhaps make a separate mod for ships names that cover more than just standard game time period.
23. mar. 2016 kl. 10:59
@Hamaja
I believe a lot of Japanese ships during that period were simply trade ships going along the coast. They were not allowed to leave Japan, hence a lack of bigger ships. Perhaps you can use these old trade ship's names though.
Lufthansi  [ophavsmand] 23. mar. 2016 kl. 8:09
So far with the mod, I've been aiming for historical accuracy, but I've not found any other Japanese shipname from the relevant time period, other than the 16th century "Nippon Maru". I wonder if any japanese language sources can provide me with any more. Unfortunately I don't read the language.

The current ships for the Japanese nations all follow the "xxx Maru" format, so I don't know how weird it would be to put in a number of shipnames from ww2, not following this rule. If any Japanese people out there can link me names, that are actually from the relevant time period, that would help me greatly. Research papers on old japanese naming conventions, including examples would be great as well. If all this fails, I'll probably just use modern Japanese shipnames, but it still feels just... wrong.
KatiyaAdmiral8 22. mar. 2016 kl. 16:00
Add in Japan's. Wikipedia has a full list of everything.
WWII: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Japanese_Navy_ships_and_war_vessels_in_World_War_II
General: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ships_of_the_Imperial_Japanese_Navy
Organized options: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Ships_of_the_Imperial_Japanese_Navy

While the most complete list is WWII, you can combine it w/the other list from beforehand (and afterward with MSDF). The Japanese have a tendency to continually reuse ship names. :)
22. mar. 2016 kl. 6:49
In addition, you should probably roll with "Provincie", because "Provinciën" is already in there. Otherwise you'd need to change that to "Proventiën"(Not even sure of this) to maintain consistency.
22. mar. 2016 kl. 6:46
@Hamaja
If consistency is your aim, implement my Utrecht change. "Provincie Utrecht" or "Provincie van Utrecht" are both fine (Province Utrecht or Province Of Utrecht respectively). "Provinciën" is the archaic plural form of province. The special character ë is to mark the beginning of a seperate 'e' sound, because Dutch has vowels (such as ie, ei, ui, aa and ij) which are 'one sound'. The 'i' and 'e' should be read seperate instead of being 'ie'. Hence the character. This occurs in no other names, so I advise implenting "Verenigde Provinciën" (United Provinces).
As for the Proventie/Provincie matter, these are interchangable, Proventie being the archaic one.
"Provinciën Utrecht" Makes no sense because Utrecht is only one province.

have you a link to download your mod ??
Lufthansi  [ophavsmand] 22. mar. 2016 kl. 5:11
@Scurek. Feel free to use them. Just remeber to thank me and /user/Ornlu_Wolfjarl for it ;)
Lufthansi  [ophavsmand] 22. mar. 2016 kl. 4:58
Thank you! @N

I'll implement your changes. Drie Helden Davids was put down like that, but spelling was weird back in the days. I'll change it. Prins Hedrik is probably a typo, yes. Proventie was also put down like that, but I like to aim for consistency. Do you think I should replace the "proventie"s with "provinciën" or the other way around. Will also add in the ë - anywhere else I should put in special letters?
22. mar. 2016 kl. 4:36
Native Dutch man here, took a look at your list. Here are my suggestions.
"Drie Helden Davids" - > "David's Drie Helden" (Makes no sense gramatically)
"Prins Hedrik Casimir" - > "Prins Hendrik Casimir" (I'm assuming this is a typo)
"Proventie Utrecht" - > "Provincie van Utrecht" (You have another name, 'Provincie van Holland', Proventie is an archaic spelling, so you might want to roll with it but I suggest following the same format as you did with the other ship.)
"Verenigde Provincien" - > "Verenigde Provinciën" (If EUIV allows it, you should probably change the e into ë)

How about Ship Names for Japan and Korea?

Byzantium/Greece would be appreciated, too.
Vor Atreides 20. mar. 2016 kl. 8:42
Maybe add byzantine names for ships ?.Not a major power but quite a popular one :)
