It's rubbish for routes that have the tram tracks in the centre of the road on left-side driving countries..... as the first image above shows

If you want to do it right, and you want to mix tram tracks on the edge of roads AND in the centre of roads you'll need both Left Entry and Right Entry trams and you'll need to match the correct tram to the correct route and NOT mix your inner-outer-side tram stops on any route.
