I'm working on a Mars map of my own. Was actually making a custom theme for myself. I'll try yours though and see how it looks.
Which biome is it based on? I'm asking because a lot of the vanilla-themed Mars maps use boreal and just paint sand on the whole map:

Hmm, very strange indeed. Have you tried starting a new game with my Mars map and this theme enabled? does it appear green on that?

yeah, going that route. i mean I've played around with the editor, just never themes.
Tried re subcribing and following this advice, and can't seem to get it to show the red rocky terrain. The visibiliity and sun look alright, but everything is still grassy.

glad to hear you want to try your hand at map making with my theme! Just to check are you going to Tools at the main menu, map editor, new, user themes making sure the "Mars Theme" is centered/selected and pressing create? It should start you off in a map with that as the theme.

If it still doesn't work, make sure you've tried re-subscribing to the if you haven't already. Hope that helps.

Alright so question then, if I wanted to make custom maps using this theme, how would I do that? I've subscribed to this and have made sure that it is enabled, as well as when I go to make the map, I select it from the user themes. Anything I'm doing wrong? Sorry, kind of new to the map editing.

could be that an update to the base game has caused this, I'll look into it ASAP. Meanwhile, try unsubscribing and subscribing to it again to see if it was a just a bad download.

So I can't seem to get this to work. The map appears green and nothing at all like Mars. Suggestions?

Thanks, it's funny you should mention that as I came across that phenomena earlier today, mentally kicked myself for not checking and hoped no one would notice lol. I'll see what I can do about making it more accurate though.
