Does this work with other nickname mods installed?
Cato 11 Μαρ 2018, 16:52
@Indigoblade Do you have any interest in porting this excellent list to WOTC?

If not, I am thinking of creating a nickname mod to cover new hero classes and also all existing WOTC user custom classes to date. Would you have any objections to me picking from your list and crediting you?
macelharen 14 Αυγ 2017, 7:47
and yeah, this is another mod with bloated files. see this thread
Dragon32 7 Φεβ 2017, 11:30
@Bøø9:
Look for "ISky's Big LW2 Name Mod". It includes this mod and a bunch of others.
Bøø9 7 Φεβ 2017, 7:12
Would this work with LW2? I assume it currently doesn't work for all the classes, since they aren't listed?
warp.ligia.obscura 2 Οκτ 2016, 5:14
Is this mod fixed yet?
ObelixDk 20 Ιουλ 2016, 17:52
link dosent work anymore :/
Indigoblade  [Δημιουργός] 3 Ιουλ 2016, 6:23
@GrimyBunyip

Sorry I have recently been away from modding due to issues outside my control :( I am able to do modding in about a month or so, but until then I cannot upload anything
GrimyBunyip 2 Ιουλ 2016, 11:11
@unikornus
the script folder should be empty right? if so yes.
ultimentra 2 Ιουλ 2016, 10:12
I can't imagine that the DLC would mess with this mod but I'm sure others will want clarification- so if the author could please post to confirm that the mod is working now that the new DLC is out that would be great :) thank you.
unikornus 10 Ιουν 2016, 0:16
@grimybunyip I moved this mod's folder to the Mods folder as recommended on your reddit thread. I also deleted the XComGame folder. Should the script folder be deleted as well?
GrimyBunyip 8 Ιουν 2016, 8:24
Here's a version of your localization file with a few typos fixed and made compatible with other nickname mods:

http://pastebin.com/6TJBxJJ8

it would also be nice if the XComGame folder were deleted. Actually the whole script and folders should probably go.
The BlackVision 26 Μαϊ 2016, 14:30
The folder thade's talking about is the XCom Game folder inside Classes inside Src in your mod. Just delete it and you lose 15Mb instantly without losing anything to your mod - it's a stupid thing the SDK adds to all general mods on creation, presumably so you can have access to all the moddable files without messing with the game's ones... but it does mean everyone has 15Mb of needless data.
Dragon32 15 Μαϊ 2016, 8:15
Possible typo:
RandomNickNames[132]=Dwarf""

Looks like should be:
RandomNickNames[132]="Dwarf"

And to answer my own question of ~6 weeks ago, there are some more callsigns in this version not in the Nexus one. Approx. 30 more.
thades 14 Μαϊ 2016, 16:50
For the record, the 16MBs are probably from the presence of the game's UnrealScript files that are ModBuddy (the default project loads them all up). Just delete all the source code you're not using that's in the project (in ModBuddy) then rebuild and deploy: it'll be a lot smaller. :)
Matikanefukukitaru 2 Απρ 2016, 12:56
Do the almost 16MB of the src/XComGame -Folder in this mod serve any purpose?
Because for every mod I could delete this without any problem, and Dragon32 below me already pointed that size-difference in comparison to the Nexus-Version out which could easily be explained by this. :iffy:
Dragon32 26 Μαρ 2016, 9:45
This Workshop version of this is ~16MB and was last updated on the 15th Feb, are there any material changes to the nicknames in this version to the one one on Nexus (~800KB, updated 11th Feb)? If there are differences, should I subscribe to this version rather than wait for the Nexus one to be updated?

And thanks for the mod, BTW, it's a keeper for me.

@Airstreamer
I'm not 100% sure, but from what I'm understanding from the code is that each unit class calls from each template to create the nickname list. Not sure you can combine the nickname list without individually doing it yourself
birb on da pooter 25 Μαρ 2016, 12:33
Would there be a way to make a mod that disables class requirements for nicknames? This way modded classes could have nicknames easier
LeaderEnemyBoss 7 Μαρ 2016, 10:02
Oh great! Probably should mention it in the description to avoid stupid questions form guys like me ;).
Indigoblade  [Δημιουργός] 7 Μαρ 2016, 9:34
@LeaderEnemyBoss

I don't know what to tell ya... We are already merged. This mod contains almost everything that that mod contains with that mod author's permission of course
LeaderEnemyBoss 7 Μαρ 2016, 4:27
Hey, really liking your mod. I saw that you considered merging this mod with Lyrae's "Expanded Callsigns and Nicknames". Will this happen eventually?
Havelock Vetinari 2 Μαρ 2016, 23:58
Could you help me with something? I tried to use your mod as a basis to another one that'd add more mission names, but mine just refuses to work.

Did you do anything other than adding the relevant "[ ]" followed by the list? Because that's what I've been doing;

[XGMission]
m_aFirstOpName[113]=Test
m_aFirstOpName[114]=Test
m_aFirstOpName[115]=Test

And so on until it reaches 1000 (just to make sure ithe chances of it not getting a word from the list would be minimal)

Yet it just doesn't work.
IceMaverick 2 Μαρ 2016, 12:23
Hey. I'm posting for broadcasting volume to mod authors I'm subbed to, in case this applies to you and you haven't yet fixed the Memory issues inherent to many mods due to a ModBuddy error: https://www.reddit.com/r/xcom2mods/comments/48c8v3/psavoicepacks_and_other_mods_to_a_lesser_extent/

Please double check if this bug in ModBuddy may apply to your mod to help modded X2 games run better.
bot 27 Φεβ 2016, 19:15
Do you have a full list anywhere?
yappy118 22 Φεβ 2016, 21:00
I appreciate fully your mod. It must have been a lot of work to produce. Thank you so very much for it.
Leaf 21 Φεβ 2016, 19:35
Alright, thanks!
Indigoblade  [Δημιουργός] 21 Φεβ 2016, 0:35
it only override the ones that share the same array spot example:
Randomnickname [68] = butbob

Your nickname mod
Randomnickname [68] = cool nickname

cool nickname will override butbob

The rest should be fine though
Leaf 20 Φεβ 2016, 22:31
If I've added my own nicknames, will this override them?
Indigoblade  [Δημιουργός] 20 Φεβ 2016, 11:49
@Bombermans

Sorry only english
Bombermans 20 Φεβ 2016, 11:39
Is this translated to other languages like spanish?
Vaykor 17 Φεβ 2016, 11:12
So i look at the screenshot background, and the second nickname I see, Grease. Omg who would want to have some1 named Grease xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD But the concept is nice I guess :P
Grawne 17 Φεβ 2016, 7:44
Nice idea, thanks for doing that !
Indigoblade  [Δημιουργός] 15 Φεβ 2016, 22:02
@Frederiktr
Thank you
Teilmann 15 Φεβ 2016, 21:19
Good job
Indigoblade  [Δημιουργός] 15 Φεβ 2016, 10:43
@max
Thanks glad you like it
max.kilian 15 Φεβ 2016, 7:14
Thank you so much! I really love this mod!! :)
Indigoblade  [Δημιουργός] 15 Φεβ 2016, 7:09
@ Max
No it does not conflict with mods that edit actual names, or country names :D This mod would only conflict with mods that edit nicknames
max.kilian 15 Φεβ 2016, 6:54
Does it conflict with the more nations mod, since that one also adds names?
Shinelite 15 Φεβ 2016, 1:08
Alright, thanks.
Indigoblade  [Δημιουργός] 15 Φεβ 2016, 0:09
If you just subscribe to the mod and ensure it is selected on the launcher it works by itself, you do not need to do anything else.
Shinelite 14 Φεβ 2016, 23:14
I have one more question. Your XComGame.INT file says to place localized text in it. Am I supposed to manually copy the nicknames from XComGame\Localization\INT and stick it in your file, or the other way around? Or does the mod work without me doing anything?
Shinelite 14 Φεβ 2016, 22:21
Thank you! I doubt I would have found that on my own.
Indigoblade  [Δημιουργός] 14 Φεβ 2016, 21:47
@Wobahs

Sure I can tell you where it is, those file are located in the XCOM 2\XComGame\Localization\INT folder in the XcomGame.int you need notepad+ or equivalent in to edit it. Otherwise just use this mod
Shinelite 14 Φεβ 2016, 21:43
I can't find what file this modifies. In other words, where are the nicknames for the vanilla, unmodded game stored?
Indigoblade  [Δημιουργός] 14 Φεβ 2016, 9:04
@max.kilian
Actually it is not. We both use the same arrays as each other. I got permission to intergrate Expanded Callsigns and Names into this mod, so feel free to use this one or that one, no matter what you'll get the same experience :D
max.kilian 14 Φεβ 2016, 8:50
Is it compatiple with the mod "expanded callsigns and names"?
Paddon 14 Φεβ 2016, 8:49
Sure, no problem!
Indigoblade  [Δημιουργός] 14 Φεβ 2016, 8:29
@Paddon Thanks for the catch! I'll fix that now. Over 1200+ nicknames I'm bound to mistype here and there. You can fix that manually, and I'll update when I get back
Paddon 14 Φεβ 2016, 8:26
Just got the nickname 'Exsel' is it meant to be "Excel"? ^^
