@Gengis Khan Rapid Fire and Chain Shot is -15% and effectively doubles the damage. Deadeye is -28% and is +50% of base damage. -10% is about right for what it should be.

Looks like this should still work in WoTC. It's a single line INI edit, the names and layout of XComGameData_SoldierSkills.ini haven't changed between base game and WoTC.

Go to the mod location, and check inside the .ini in the config lines. Just change the 0 to whatever you like. No % needed.

Is there any way to change the numbers? I'd like something inbetween -25% and -10%, like -18%

Just subbed it and ran the game. Getting message "Can't find file". Does it still work or is it something else?

Agree with Merk, it can share the same cooldown time with lightning hand. It's accurately quite decent for me even without this buff, but unfortunately, its competitor was the lightning hand.

After the buff, it's as useful as the lightning hand on making the sniper to solo kill a target. While the lightning hand has a better damage and is able to shoot a different target, deadeye can work with squad sight.

Hey spooky,

Great mod. One suggestion - increase the cooldown by a turn at the very least. This skill sucked balls before, but it's now actually a little too good because I think it's only a 2 turn CD?

Could be a 4 turner at this point

I've found a sweet spot with the dead eye perk, having my Sniper hit roughly 90% of every dead eye shot through a wall and high cover through squad sight, I've even had shots were I use dead eye and it stays 100% to hit, and then you add the AP rounds and bam, damage galore

That's a possibility, but it's a lot more complicated than its current implementation.

How about making it Upgradable in the Guerrilla Tactics School ?

It starts off with -10%.
When you upgrade it, it becomes -15% AND +1 extra DMG.

I think that sounds nice.

Yeah, the level of penalty it applies is absurd. I've had dudes be elevated, flanking targets, and still miss because of it. While I was digging around for an unrelated mod I found where the deadeye stuff is stored and subsequently went about fixing it.

It's a 25% decrease to the total % your normal shot would have, example: 85 aim+20 height+15scope=120% to hit, deadeye chance would be 120% * 0.75 = 90%.
This makes it more of a worthwhile perk, although it is a nice skill in vanilla if you use it right, at reasonable range, flanking and at height advantage. 4 skill CD is way too much for how punishing the aim penalty is though.

deadeye as is is seriously not worth it. Whenever my sniper has had 100% to hit normally, deadeye pulls it down to the high 80's and he misses. His ability to fail on the easiest hits really amazes me sometimes.

It's not 25 Aim, it's -25% of your aim skill, if I'm reading it right. That's why I changed it to 10%. I haven't play tested it much yet, so I'll have to give it a go and if -10% is Too Good i'll turn it up to -15%. TBH I didn't test it at all, I banged out the file and uploaded before I had to run off to work.

I agree 25 is too much, I don't think I've ever actually used Deadeye. So -10 or -15 makes it more meaningful.

disagree, since the name is deadeye, shooter clearly goes blind when shooting, it should have 100% penalty to aim, as anyone shooting with a deadeye. but game wise, it finally makes the skill usefull

Nice .. In my opinion Deadeye not useful I always chose other skill. Now with this mod it will be more useful.
