@Peewi just added a thread in the workshop discussions, post there if you'd like!
Peewi 6. feb. 2016 kl. 16:04
Yeah, I see you had weight at 1, which would explain why I didn't see it in 200+ soldiers.

Maybe we should make a thread in the workshop forum instead of having all of this in your comments section.
rankmepls  [ophavsmand] 6. feb. 2016 kl. 15:57
@Peewi so I changed the weighting from 1 to 1000 and I'm definitely generating so it looks like it's working but just rare right now. I'll tweak the numbers once I start gettings things more polished. Here's a video showing it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPurb_cEXl8&feature=youtu.be

Great! Btw... I just went on google and typed 'zip of all world flags' and the second hit was a zip with them all :)
rankmepls  [ophavsmand] 6. feb. 2016 kl. 15:49
@SirJavalot Yeah, that's waht we have currently and aparently the computer isn't generating them, though I don't know why cause it should. disabling it intentionally shouldnt be difficult, though, may be impossible, i dont know yet ;P also, to be clear, there are no names for this yet, they'll probably have american names, although their races should be about right, for a first pass.
Axeface 6. feb. 2016 kl. 15:49
Wouldnt the computer not generating recruits from the added country actually prevent issues with language and names? I think it would be better if it just adds the flags for the player. If the computer generated 'John Smith' from Azerbaijan that speaks spanish it would be a bit weird :D
rankmepls  [ophavsmand] 6. feb. 2016 kl. 15:47
@Peewi definitely a potential issue right now... I'mma just test something and get back to you. it /should/ be working, dont see why not, but I definitely could have missed something.
Peewi 6. feb. 2016 kl. 15:46
I don't think this gets used for randomly generated characters right now. At least I tried generating about 200 new guys in the character pool and Somalia didn't appear on anyone.
Axeface 6. feb. 2016 kl. 15:45
This is so exciting and gives me hope! As for languages and names, I expect that will be a real problem. Can you just add flags for the player customisation and not let the computer make them? Then you wont have to add names, or figure out what languages to use for each, which would be so time consuming.

@Warregory I'll definitely consider it, though most likely it'll all come in one big pack!
Starcaller 6. feb. 2016 kl. 15:40
May I make a request for your next county? Denmark. Please?
rankmepls  [ophavsmand] 6. feb. 2016 kl. 15:31
@Aztecopi A while actually, I thought it would be, but I'm probably guessing it would take maybe 30 mins per country? If you really know what you're doing, which I don't :P And that's without additional voices and localisations. But we'll see, I'm definitely interested in doing it.
rankmepls  [ophavsmand] 6. feb. 2016 kl. 15:29
@El Presidente Cheers, I'll definitely take a look when I get the chance.
Aztecopi 6. feb. 2016 kl. 15:29
ETA for all countries available? :P Nah but would that be more of a copy paste job after you figured it out?
Sauravisus 6. feb. 2016 kl. 15:24
@Bert Macklin, FBI: You would, as this mod doesn't make any changes to the already loaded data if activated after a campaign start. I've been poking around in the files, and found several things that could be improved already, sadly, I lack the documentation to make it possible.

@Volman: Great job on adding a country, rather than replacing it. I'd suggest taking a look at the default "AddAWeapon" mod, as it contains code for what happens if it's added to the game after a campaign has started. Maybe that'd help you in your efforts to have it be added to an existing campaign. :3
Arno 6. feb. 2016 kl. 15:15
@Bert Macklin Note that his first mod changes the Finnish flag too a pirate one. It's all adding up now
Peewi 6. feb. 2016 kl. 15:09
@Volman Either of those would be cool, but I'll try poking at the tools myself in the meantime.
It's Ya Wife, Ruby! 6. feb. 2016 kl. 15:08
A tutorial would be great for this, or at least a workshop mod that works as a template for changes. I'd like to add some Native American/First Nations, and I'm pretty darn sure I'm one of like 12 people who would see that. If I have to make those mods myself, then I'll do it.
(Also, Somolia is an inspired choice but one that works perfectly. Somolian pirates working for XCom makes perfect sense in universe.)
rankmepls  [ophavsmand] 6. feb. 2016 kl. 15:01
@Peewi I'm going to try and make a tutorial tomorrow or something if I have time. tbh, I'm a huge noob at modding and it took me 12 hours to figure this out so I'm definitely not the best person to ask. If I dont end up releasing a tutorial, I'll definitely try and upload the raw mod so people can poke through it.
Peewi 6. feb. 2016 kl. 14:57
I haven't spent that much time with the mod tools yet, but I'd like to add Denmark. It'd be great if you would share some info on how you made this.
rankmepls  [ophavsmand] 6. feb. 2016 kl. 14:54
@Bert Macklin, FBI I'm not sure, haven't tested too much. I would definitely recommend doing so and not removing the mod if you want to keep the save. Also, don't set any Characters in your Pool to this country. I haven't noticed any errors so far from either of those things but I'd rather everyone be safe rather than sorry.
Arno 6. feb. 2016 kl. 14:54
Yea, it's not easy. This jungle is thick
Metal Izanagi 6. feb. 2016 kl. 14:53
The country isn't the important part, man; the fact that you guys were already able to add new countries to the recruitment pool is a huge step for modding!
It's Ya Wife, Ruby! 6. feb. 2016 kl. 14:49
Will you need to start a new campaign in order for recruits to use this flag?
rankmepls  [ophavsmand] 6. feb. 2016 kl. 14:47
@Metal Izangi Yeah, been working on this for like 12 hours with Arno - it's been super difficult but we've managed to make it work! Sorry it's not the most requested country, we just picked it for testing purposes.
Metal Izanagi 6. feb. 2016 kl. 14:46
Ah, so this doesn't replace any country, like the other mods do?
rankmepls  [ophavsmand] 6. feb. 2016 kl. 14:43
@Arno Thanks brother in arms!

@Oterro Cheers!
Arno 6. feb. 2016 kl. 14:42
Nice, nice touch on the back
Oterro7 6. feb. 2016 kl. 14:35
great!
