Hello. Can I use your mod to make it for other factions? I will definitely mention the original author of the mod.

Good job, king.

For those who like to see these guys holding their bows in their hands, there is an easy fix for that.

<SLOT name="weapon_3" attach_point="weapon_04" >
<VARIANT_MESH_REFERENCE definition="variantmeshes\_variantmodels\man\weapons/att_bow_reflex.VariantMeshDefinition" />
</SLOT>

Just edit the Variantmeshdefinition file. It's easy to extract this file to desktop with PFM, edit it and use the add-funtion for the changed file.

See my comment on the other mod.
Thanks.

I would not know. Too many years have passed!
✝ Gamlingwine  [author] 13 Feb, 2020 @ 9:10pm
Sorry, but I stopped making Attila mods in 2016.
VIKINGBLOOD 13 Feb, 2020 @ 1:32pm
can you add them to saxons?
Alex the Great 5 Apr, 2018 @ 1:15pm
oohh ok, I get you.
✝ Gamlingwine  [author] 5 Apr, 2018 @ 11:22am
I meant that I casually painted the icons with random instruments with moderate interest in details.
Alex the Great 5 Apr, 2018 @ 6:46am
Yea I use the same software too. And when you say free hand, do you mean you edit certain parts of the unit icon and make one piece together?
✝ Gamlingwine  [author] 5 Apr, 2018 @ 6:42am
Dear friend,

I'm afraid more than two years passed and I honestly forgot how I made the unit icon precisely. But I do remember, I used a software like gimp, importing a vanilla icon and then editing it by "free hand". So that is very roughly how I did it.

Hope my answer somewhat helps you reaching the same result.
Alex the Great 5 Apr, 2018 @ 6:27am
How is it that you can make those vanilla style unit cards so...great? I tried making em myself for a unit I’m making but no where near as great as yours are. O.0

Thanks again!

It's not hard at all, just really time spending. You barely need guides to make a mod like this but be prepared to invest afternoons worth of work
Good luck

Thanks for responding. I haven't tried my hand at modding TW games but I'm willing to give it a go.
✝ Gamlingwine  [author] 19 Nov, 2017 @ 11:13pm
Not at this time or the near future, as I'm not into the game for now and haven't been in a while. But whatever files you can manage to use and edit om your own, it's fine for me.
Rooster 19 Nov, 2017 @ 7:43pm
Would you consider making a line of similar troops from tier 1 to tier 3 for other barbarian factions? Specifically the Saxons or the Norse?
Revk@ 26 Feb, 2016 @ 1:19pm
Please update Mod for the new version games. thanks
✝ Gamlingwine  [author] 4 Feb, 2016 @ 3:07am
hey, managed to test the unit a little bit more? how's the arrow nerf?
YaBoyJesus 31 Jan, 2016 @ 2:08pm
thanks a whole bunch. It's getting late so i will fiddle around with it tomorrow.
✝ Gamlingwine  [author] 31 Jan, 2016 @ 12:07pm
ok here I am

you must edit unit_variants etc
units_to groupings etc
also the custom battles permissions if you want to use them in those too

just copy past the first row in each table and only edit the faction
anyhow I set the arrows to 30 seeing the most elite archers have still around 20, 50 was definitely too much.
✝ Gamlingwine  [author] 31 Jan, 2016 @ 5:46am
Find where it says att_franci or something and add att_saxones and the name of the unit like in the first row. Now I'm not on my desktop and can't see if that's just the only parameter but believe me it's really easy. Then just save and see if it works. I think if you want to be sure it's OK just check all the tables and see wherever att franci is listed then add another row in each table and copy everything except for the faction where att saxones must be selected from the list. I could make it myself but I can't think of a proper setting for the unit within the saxons. If you had any demi historical idea spit it out and I'll consider it.
✝ Gamlingwine  [author] 31 Jan, 2016 @ 5:45am
Okay I'll try them out better in my campaign as soon as someone actually besieges one of my cities. Since they are indeed expensive keeping them in every town or army is quite impossible.

About the modding it's relatively easy what you want to do. Simply find the download for the Pack File Manager on total war centre. Can't pass you the link atm but just Google it. The you'll have to open my mod with that program and that will allow you to browse through the tables contained in it. There is at least one parameter that has to be changed but it's very self explanatory if you check it out.

6 units. But i kind of rushed them, making me an easy taget since i had no money to keep up an actual army. They hold their own pretty good though. I didn't get a chance to play a walled seige battle with them, and i think in that situation the amount of arrows would make the unit op. But i will play a bit more indepth with them later today probably. I have no modding skills, but a mid tier/high tier bow unit for the Saxons are high on my wishlist.(maybe just the germanic kind the frankish already have). But is there any easy way i can make this unit you have made, show up for the saxon? Or does it require skills i don't have?
✝ Gamlingwine  [author] 30 Jan, 2016 @ 12:41pm
So you managed to use lots of them? I noticed I end up using them in melee too fast and they only use a dozen or so. Maybe it's because my ai opponents use little missile units and few volleys are exchanged.
YaBoyJesus 30 Jan, 2016 @ 11:09am
Maybe nerf the amount of arrows? But keep it high´ish.
✝ Gamlingwine  [author] 28 Jan, 2016 @ 8:30am
I know, the upkeep is too low for a unit that powerful. But honestly the yearly cost for some units is just too high.

What would you nerf?

I noticed they are quite effective against medium and light cavalry. Some roman cunt AI charged one of my Hunter units and they got casualties but routed it with heavy losses anyway.
I think the melee stats per se are okay, in real h2h combat it can stand out against rank I axes/swords and some II spears but that's about it. Good cavalry only gets rekt if trapped within.

Perhaps the missile damage is a little too much? I've compared the unit to the sassanid top archer to balance it out. Again, the low upkeep is probably the issue here.
YaBoyJesus 28 Jan, 2016 @ 7:41am
Slightly op. But Franks are at a disadvantage , so maybe that add up. I will have to see late game.
✝ Gamlingwine  [author] 27 Jan, 2016 @ 11:36pm
I'm glad people seem to like it. I'd like to add it for other germanic factions as well, but to stay true to my beloved History I'll only be able to do so with a handful. Perhaps the Alamans.

What do you think so far?
YaBoyJesus 27 Jan, 2016 @ 10:01pm
Imma try this out now, right now.
