<SLOT name="weapon_3" attach_point="weapon_04" >
<VARIANT_MESH_REFERENCE definition="variantmeshes\_variantmodels\man\weapons/att_bow_reflex.VariantMeshDefinition" />
</SLOT>
Just edit the Variantmeshdefinition file. It's easy to extract this file to desktop with PFM, edit it and use the add-funtion for the changed file.
Thanks.
I'm afraid more than two years passed and I honestly forgot how I made the unit icon precisely. But I do remember, I used a software like gimp, importing a vanilla icon and then editing it by "free hand". So that is very roughly how I did it.
Hope my answer somewhat helps you reaching the same result.
Good luck
you must edit unit_variants etc
units_to groupings etc
also the custom battles permissions if you want to use them in those too
just copy past the first row in each table and only edit the faction
anyhow I set the arrows to 30 seeing the most elite archers have still around 20, 50 was definitely too much.
About the modding it's relatively easy what you want to do. Simply find the download for the Pack File Manager on total war centre. Can't pass you the link atm but just Google it. The you'll have to open my mod with that program and that will allow you to browse through the tables contained in it. There is at least one parameter that has to be changed but it's very self explanatory if you check it out.
What would you nerf?
I noticed they are quite effective against medium and light cavalry. Some roman cunt AI charged one of my Hunter units and they got casualties but routed it with heavy losses anyway.
I think the melee stats per se are okay, in real h2h combat it can stand out against rank I axes/swords and some II spears but that's about it. Good cavalry only gets rekt if trapped within.
Perhaps the missile damage is a little too much? I've compared the unit to the sassanid top archer to balance it out. Again, the low upkeep is probably the issue here.
What do you think so far?
