Never really thoufht of commenting, but I just saw a low rating and I'm outraged, as it's my favourite civ. Literally I like it even more than Poland. You've made a great job and you deserve much higher rating

Glad you enjoyed it :) it's one of my favourite civs of my own. Feel free to give it a vote btw - I'd really appreciate it!

I LOVED playing this civ, they're so powerful. The only thing I found broken was being able to expend workers to make world wonders.

The place style I sort of adopted was to focus on getting Aristocracy so wonders cost less, to build the Pyramids for more workers, then go down the Liberty tree (getting Citizenship before Collective rule). The first buildings you want to build are production buildings and world wonders. You can also use a worker to clear a forest for even more production before expending it (esp when building wonders). Once the 1st city is good, you can build a 2nd and use the 1st city to make workers for the 2nd city to expend making expanding extremely fast and powerful.

In the more late game I focused on gold income (expend workers for them) and focused on getting 15k gold, making a unit, and using the 15k gold to buy all the workers needed to make a max level unit. At this point, you can also buy workers in new cities to expend and mature the city very fast.

@Hip-Hop Guy (& @retrocity5), it's kind of unfortunate really, since the leaderscene is actually based on several photos Burundian people. In any case, the mod was recently updated with a new design, and tbh it's one of my favourite designs; really love playing as/against these guys.

@Retrocity5

I had the same concern about the stereotypical depiction and was hesitant about installing this mod at first because of it

Support for Ethnic Units and R.E.D. is handled the same way afaik, so it should be all good.
Norton 15. jan. 2017 kl. 10:20
Wait he said Hulfgar's. Doesn't this support R.E.D. Ethnic Units?
DMS  [ophavsmand] 14. jan. 2017 kl. 23:40
@Darthlox,
As it says in the "Supported Mods" section above, "Ethnic Units" is supported.
Norton 14. jan. 2017 kl. 17:37
@Dathlox I'm afraid they most likely will not.
Darthlox 14. jan. 2017 kl. 17:22
for this mod, and your others, will they work with Hulfgar's ethnic units? I primarily use that one.
Norton 10. aug. 2016 kl. 17:16
This'll sound real bad but, when I first looked at the picture of the leader in that Box to the right, I thought he looked like that one stereotype of having big peach colored lips.

As far as the expending workers to hurry military unit production is concerned, I've found that it's not worth it until you're late enough in the game that your cities have enough production to build a worker in one turn and the units are advanced enough that they take 7 or more turns to build. Because unless you've improved basically every workable tile in your empire, it's not worth it to expend one of your existing workers, so you have to produce new ones to expend to hurry military unit production. Military units just aren't worth that tradeoff until the atomic era or so. If you could hurry wonder or building construction by expending workers it would be a good tradeoff, but for military units it isn't for most of the game.

@ruhrgebietheld
That's fair enough. I'm glad you like the Ganwa unit - it's definitely amoung my favourite units as well - and your description of the UB is definitely how it's supposed to be considered; fairly powerfull, but with some drawbacks (the no merchant slots and late availability).
About the UA, I have to say that I'm kind of suprised you dislike it so much. The repair ability of the mounted units as well as the hurrying of military units is something I've used lots of times in my games and defintely found it to be useful, even if it isn't the most powerful of UAs. I agree the GP part is kind of a neglectable bonus, but it ties in fairly well with the UB.

Anyways, thanks for your feedback.
Mojave Neon 23. jan. 2016 kl. 19:47
Hmm, I'm still not sure how I feel about this one. The Ganwa is an absolutely incredible UU, one of the best I've ever encountered. The UB can be fairly powerful, but you wisely put some drawbacks into its design as well to keep it from getting OP. The UA however, is one of the most worthless I've ever seen. The mounted units/pillaged tiles thing is so specialized that you only use it a few times throughout the entire game. Expending workers to hurry military production is a terrible tradeoff until the very end of the game. And the gold bonus also doesn't have a major effect until the late game, especially since it's restricted to your capital. So this civ combines an amazing UU with a good UB and an attrocious UA. Hence why I feel so conflicted about this one.
