got the same problem with the purple cubes :( redownload worked for me :(
jackik 28. feb. 2019 kl. 12:33
have you tried to redownload?
shawo5677 28. feb. 2019 kl. 12:12
I have a purple cube when i'm placing this object. =S Doesn't work at the moment.
jackik 3. feb. 2019 kl. 12:41
You can attach it to a small grip with a small to large advanced rotor ^^ , you need to deal with the thrust vectors and the mass centers though, unless you deal with it as just a small addon on a huge ship.
I'd consider it balancing, not allowing a small version to be built. If there were a small version, transporting ores from miners would be ridiculously easy, as just installing one on it and having it run effectively quintuples your available storage (1000kg to 191.86kg) given enough time, which you have enough of when mining.
Trinan 3. feb. 2019 kl. 11:50
is there a plan, for smal ships ?
Torres 27. aug. 2018 kl. 12:00
Does this have expansion ports for upgrades?

@Career Nerf Herder: very true, but space is big, so i certainly wont care about a little planet or two completely coverd in slag... expecially in exploration mode!
Legion 14. maj 2017 kl. 21:59
anyone know of a stone crusher for small ships

This looks like a cool mod; I like the (realistic) idea that you can pull useful products from rather less-useful gravel.

Personally, I'd dial down the quantities produced by maybe an order of magnitude or two; as it is, it strikes me as a bit overpowered; I expect that some people might use this mod to replace refineries entirely and eliminate the need to actually find ores, and instead just mine truckloads of stone.

It might also be cool if the separator also produced slag, not because it would be useful, but because it wouldn't be. As in real life, you'd be left with something that doesn't do *anything*, and you'd have to get rid of it. (I personally like making rotors with ejectors on them, so I can fling my waste products out into the universe. Or you could use it as ammunition in a gravity gun.) But if you don't like the idea, it won't prevent me from using the mod! :)

If this could support upgrade modules it would be so much better, because building 20 of these is laggy and a waste.
Silence Suzuka 28. sep. 2016 kl. 8:22
Is it possible to give it an option in control panel to say only work when there are at least x gravel in the convoy system? because there are some component need gravel to produce but this thing will use all gravel in the system.
Prof. hulk 22. juni 2016 kl. 18:46
if its possible could you increase the loads and time its takes so its less lag inducing?. it tends to freez up the inventory with more then 20 going on a base
Hk416x 22. maj 2016 kl. 2:56
Is it possible to add upgrade modules?
Overmind 21. maj 2016 kl. 3:16
this mod is very good before I found it I have problems with finding some resources like platina and gold after I found this mod I only need stone thank you

This game definitely has no shortage of bugs :steamsad:
jandraelune 15. mar. 2016 kl. 11:43
One small problem. If you turn off all these you have in the same structure as your arc furnaces...it will disable the arc furnaces from reciving new ore, you can't even place ore in them. THe box doesn't grey out, the ore just will not go in. They only accept ore again by turning the thing back on or removing it from the structure.
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [ophavsmand] 13. feb. 2016 kl. 14:58
It currently uses the vanilla arc furnace model, so it naturally works in DX9 and DX11.
Peter Frantic 13. feb. 2016 kl. 2:36
DX11?
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [ophavsmand] 11. feb. 2016 kl. 23:37
Open Blueprints.sbc and delete the relevant line(s) for the ore(s) you don't want.
Silver 11. feb. 2016 kl. 22:22
Am Looking to edit a certian ore out of the process, but im not great and understanding on how to change things, any chance i could get a explanation?
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [ophavsmand] 23. jan. 2016 kl. 7:08
After testing in survival, I have increased nickel and uranium output, reduced cobalt, gold and platinum yield. Power consumption increased back to 1.12 MW to compensate for increased uranium yield.
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [ophavsmand] 17. jan. 2016 kl. 3:00
It's a fairly simple change to make. I'd rather not add different versions of the same machine, I think it's too confusing, but if you want to publish your own version of this mod feel free.
RulerOfDiscord 17. jan. 2016 kl. 1:46
could you make a version that only outputs common materials such as ice, iron, cobalt, nickel and silicon? Just would like to know if it would be possible to do so or if I can create it myself.
caffiend 12. jan. 2016 kl. 19:56
It's not a bad mod, but as I use the moisture reclaimer to process stone into ice, I don't actually gather that much gravel anymore. This might be useful for me in converting the relatively small amounts of gravel that does accumulate however.
DaMightyMage 12. jan. 2016 kl. 18:15
I've often wished there were more uses for gravel in the base game beyond reactor components. Even small-scale mining ships will produce an unimaginable heap of scrap stone in their lifetimes. This is a nifty idea.
Flt Adm Suvok 12. jan. 2016 kl. 8:43
I like the idea. Thank you for making it.
Ced23Ric 12. jan. 2016 kl. 5:45
Y'know, to each their own. I don't think I can go on debating the usefullness of such a system without dismantling playstyles, and I don't want to be that guy.

Hope it's working like it should for you and you are having fun. Enjoy! :)
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [ophavsmand] 12. jan. 2016 kl. 5:31
Presumably if a player has a large ship miner they already have all the ore they could want (or else they can readily get it), so I'm not sure how this mod has any impact on such a person.
I made this to fit my play style, which is biased more towards harvesting and making efficient use of resources as I need them than grinding up every rock I come across.
Ced23Ric 12. jan. 2016 kl. 5:12
I see the point you are making, but cannot help to point out that large ship miners are inherently more efficient. I think we are getting into the wishy-washy area of preferences, where we cannot quantify claims anymore. Please don't misconstrue these posts as a discredit to your work. After working on an addon for a similar mod myself, and having run it on a server for a while, I just saw it's effect. It makes people simply eat raw rocks and noever bother with proper deposits anymore.

Because, and this is where time comes in again: If it takes a long time to make raw materials out of gravel, mining a proper deposit becomes more efficient, with the size being quickly irrelevant, as millions of platinum ore turn into a few thousands of platinum anyway. If it fast to convert gravel into another material, the value of stone increased yet again.

It is hard to find the balance between convenience and raison d´êtrè.
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [ophavsmand] 12. jan. 2016 kl. 5:06
If I only want a kilogram of, say, gold then I may as well process a ton or two of gravel rather than fly 20 km to an asteroid with a gold deposit. If I want a few tons of the stuff then flying to the asteroid and mining the pure gold deposit is a better use of my time.
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [ophavsmand] 12. jan. 2016 kl. 4:59
That really depends on your play style. I use small ship drone miners to directly target deposits so I generally don't have large amounts of stone, and I play offline so I can't leave things to process while I'm out or asleep.
To me time is not a luxury.
Ced23Ric 12. jan. 2016 kl. 2:34
I am not saying this mod is a bad idea in and of itself. It just makes the prevalent problem of Space Engineers - the lack of resource scarcity - worse. If the uranium yield of your block is lower than the uranium required to run it, there is no reason to run it. If the uranium yield is larger than the intake, it creates virtually free uranium out of waste you would have needed to dispose of before.

Stone comes in insane quantities, so the accumulation of the "fuel" for the conversion is negligable. And if something exist where nothing was before, you end up adding material ontop of the already abundant resources. At the end of the day, we dropped any and all mods doing this on our server because it made searching for deposits pointless. Even if it was more efficient to find a deposit, the abundance of stone, time and base resources made it unnecessary.
Ced23Ric 12. jan. 2016 kl. 2:32
Well, ressource independency is something easily achieved in Space Engineers. From a starter ship to a self-contained base with room for expansion does not take a single person, let alone a team pooling efforts very long. With the Hypertech Synthesizer - or your variant of that - you face a pretty simple issue.

If I have a stock of material X, Y and Z, I am already supplied enough to do most things. Further expansion may require more materials, but I am no longer in pressing need. Time is a luxury I have to spare in droves. Money, as in, resources as SE has no funds, is already covered by the first observation. So, for little effort (i.e., mine that asteroid regardless of contents), I now have whatever was in there PLUS stone, and stone can turn into every other material.
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [ophavsmand] 12. jan. 2016 kl. 2:03
I'm certainly open to suggestions on adjusting the relative ore yields, though.
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [ophavsmand] 12. jan. 2016 kl. 1:58
Don't forget that it takes time and money to refine the ores this block produces. On 1x refinery speed you will spend more energy separating and refining the ores than you will get back from the scavenged uranium, unless you use power efficiency modules on your refineries. On 3x you will get more back but really not that much - on the order of 30 g Uranium per ton of gravel according to my calculations.

If you're after a specific material then mining ore is going to be a better use of your time.
Ced23Ric 12. jan. 2016 kl. 1:34
Looks like the Hypertech Synthesizers. That used to do the same thing. Problem was - and is - you can just get milions of gravel and pour them in, because at the point where it is energy effective (more uranium produced than needed to turn gravel into uranium), it becomes pointless to go for other materials.
arreclain 11. jan. 2016 kl. 12:30
Interesting take on this block.
