This is exactly the kind of mountain map i've been looking for, just like you said all the maps I see are european style, or they would have more deltas and little mountain. Thanks for making the map and sharing.

Thanks! Go ahead. Just a note though; some of the growables in the image are from Quad's collection of futuristic growables in case anyone asks, and there's the Shard Tower from Mirror's Edge in one as well.

Probably a couple of others, but I haven't played Cities Skylines for a while and I can't remember.

Very nice, HyphenTorpedo! I'll have to try and put a couple of those in the slideshow above.

Also, if you want to see some of the original images from Newark, I think these are the ones:

Obviously these were from a little while ago, before I figured out how to disable the HUD :P

Hey UltimusRex, here a few of the screenshots:

It's not Newark megacity since I scrapped that and tried again and I can't remember this one's name, but it was pretty organic for most of the districts. On the last one I was able to fit in an airport in a valley to the east along a river. In this one I think I turned that place into a farm.

Thank you Captain-NO. I'm glad to hear it fit with your collection.

Hey Hyphen. I've been away for a while, sorry I missed your response. I checked your screenshots, but there look to be several Cities: Skylines images. Can you let me know somehow which two are from this map? Or link me to them if you're able to figure that out? Thanks!

There you go, I changed it to public. It was marked as friends only, sorry about that.

HyphenTorpedo, I tried to view your screenshots on your profile, but your profile is marked as private and I can't see anything.

You're welcome! I've posted two of the pictures up (not sure how to link them, but they're on Steam somewhere...), but I've since deleted that city since I'm going to start again at some point. It was great fun, I even had enough space by the end to have train stations, shipping lanes and an airport, even a couple of mountain towns dotted about.

Thank you for your kind words, HyphenTorpedo. Do you have any screenshots of the resulting city? I'd love to take a look at them. I haven't yet had the chance to actually build on this map, myself. I do have a couple other maps uploaded to the Workshop, and I have several others at different stages of development. I'm glad you like this one.

I started this map with the intention of creating a futuristic megacity like the one in a game called NEO Scavenger. I have to say, I was not dissapointed with the look it ended up with, and the challenge of building it was great fun as well. Well done with this map, I look forward to seeing more from you!

Also, I should say, thank you Stan. I appreciate that sort of constructive criticism and will consider your comments when designing future maps.
UltimusRex  [ophavsmand] 4. nov. 2015 kl. 21:42
Stan, as for the building space, that's the downfall of very mountainous maps like this (I've got another in the works with even less buildable space). The thing I enjoy about this style of terrain is having to thoughtfully design small separated towns/communities nestled in the few valleys or overlooking the landscape from the ridges... If you haven't already, you can check out my other maps, "Cascadia" and especially "Coastal Shelf", for similarly interesting, realistic, and grandiose geography but with considerably more space for building.

Thank you, Soros... Stan, I'm personally often annoyed by highways that terminate or have pre-built on/off ramps, since they are rarely where I want them to be. I prefer to leave the highway connections up to the end player, though I do realize that means having to spend some of your starting cash on them. I am, however, open to discussing what others prefer, and if there is enough interest in doing so, I might consider updating the map with on/off ramps in the start tile.

It's beautiful, it just bothers me that there is no good highway-to-road to start with. And there is not a lot room to build. But it's so nicely done.

I rated it with a like :D
