If you guys want a hydrogen tanks like this but doesn't replace the small ones. RB Medium Hydrogen Tanks seem to work

needs to add the 3x3x3 instead of replacing the 1x2x2 hydrogen tank.

5x5x5 compared to 3x3x3 should be 1/5th of the 5x5x5, not 1/2

This mod replaces the new small hydrogen tank from the recent update. I love this mod and I don't wanna disable it but I also want to use the new vanilla small tank. Maybe it's just a name thing, can somebody tell me if this can be fixed?

Would be more realistic if you only shrink the existing Hydrogen Tank model down to 1x1x1 which would look more ideal, and repurposing this existing model into a half tank oxygen. That is what this game really needs. it would also allow for more compact building.

The new update killed O2 Gen output without a Hydro Tank.
This Mod may become very popular again soon.

if i place it in creative mode it is not filled up and is empty so you cant build with that tanks because it will get empty if you try to fly and this is fore ever so please fix it if you can

Honestly, while I find it more convenient to use Nukeguard's Compact Tanks since it's Oxygen+Hydrogen for both small and large grids.....I kinda prefer this one's model, even considering the block redesigns, this one just looks more fitting.

small ship, large thruster with one tank:
Small tank from this mod: about 20s full thrust
Large vanilla tank: about 157s full thrust
= nearly factor 8x for capacity; factor 7 for mass and factor 4.6 for volume

so i am wondering about the real capacities now...

block info mod says it has a capacity of 8000 but half of a big tank should be 40.000. i will test it^^

@voltem maybe release a seperate? I like overpowered mods :P Also, maybe a large ship version that's 1x1x1?

Yes, could you makea version of this with only 21% of the capacity? I don't perticularly like overpowered mods

Technically it should be 21% of what a large tank can hold ((5*5*5)/(3*3*3)) but I'm not complaining.

does it add a smaller tank for large ships as well or is it only for small ships?

The mod is supposed to add another "medium" 3x3x3 hydrogen tank for small ships... But it doesn't. Only for large ship, which is a little weird. Is that intentional or the description is wrong?

Since it uses same model as for oxygen tank, I did that intentionally so one wouldn't mistake one for another in, say, cockpit toolbar.

Just my opinion on this much needed mod: Why not change the icon to a proper hydrogen tank instead of the hydrogen bottle?

Why would they bother making a small tank, when they can trust Darth Biomech to do it for them ;) Cheers for all the hard work

you could make a ice gen work over time with a catylist like magnesium or platinum or salt or salts as they all help conduct electricity and in this process where you convert ice to gas you split water in to 2 gases it will help conduct power thru the water giving you a valid reason to make an upgraded oxygen generator

Seriously, please update it with a higher capacity. My ship using this pretty much ran out of fuel in 20 seconds with 3 of those and only 2 large thrusters to fuel.

This should be made vanilla and official.

How do you sleep with yourself knowing you make most of the best mods Darth?

Needs an update for the new volume in the patch. The new small ship hydrogen tank carries 40,000 fuel in 125 cubes. Scaling to 3x3x3 (27 cubes) would be 8640 fuel. I think 7500 or 8000 would be a good, round number, with a little penalty built in to still make the large tank attractive for space efficiency at the cost of bulk.

darth, youre not usualy one for reusing old tectures and models..
however, i understand this is just a quick fix, so i dont really mind it using the O2 tanks

Hey, I have a request for you. I've spent the past few days trying to figure out how to install the large ship hydro tank into my ship without having to either remove one of my much needed large cargo containers or doing a complete rebuild. Would you be willing to make a smaller large ship tank, scaled for volume even?

I just ust Hydro as "turbo" On most of my ships, I have plenty of maneuvering thrust. I just like having boosters, you gotta go faster :P
