The closest I've gotten to getting Large and Small grids to work together is by using connectors and/or rotor base/head mixes which allowed locking of the two grids. And even then, that was only recently possible thanks to cross-grid locking. But nowadays, one requirement I have of all my builds is they should be easy enough to build off of a projection and some kind of welder bed setup - which is currently not possible due to large/small projector blocks only projecting their respective grids.
But I'm glad I was able to trigger a bit of nostalgia for you lol. Seeing a comment on this old guy TuuvasShuttle brings back old memories for me too... like pre-planets features... pre-nerf "Thrusters" since they weren't being called ions yet... etc. Man SE has come a long way eh?
