I use Blender, with this plugin: http://harag-on-steam.github.io/se-blender/

That covers the models and a lot of other stuff.

I use GIMP or Photoshop for textures, but you can use mostly anything.

May I ask what tools you used to make this? I would like to add my own logo to the game to put on my mod review ship.

I don't mind. It was a symbol made for Tartaross since he does live-streaming and does a lot of custom builds.
