@Dr. Pibb its a buyable buckler on the Patch testing for Chivalry server. If you log in there you can give it a look.

The buckler is on the skin change menu, foreshadowing ftw!!!! :spirallove:

I like the Tower Shield in Real Life, but I cannot say the same for the one in Chivalry LOL it cover s almost the whole screen! -I wish somebody would make an alternate Skin for the Kite Shield to make it look like the Tower Shield then Vice Versa. *I dont use the Tower Shield even though its my favorite because you simply cannot see anything lol*

Ah, I paid attention to the knight shield and they do use leather straps. Anyway, I really like your shield and I would love to see it in game! :)

@Rebel I did make the model. When I made it, I just made sure the dimensions and the construction of the model matched the original model .

Chaos star FTW
RebelDog 10 sep, 2015 @ 11:21
It does look kinda nice anyways, and if you didn't make the model, I'll go complain with Torn Banner! :steamhappy:

Grip*
N. B. 10 sep, 2015 @ 11:14
On real Norse Shields from the Dark ages, they really did use center gripped Handles. What is Rebel Dogs slight argument about? -Do the guys in Chivalry use the leather straps instead of the center grim? lol I never really paid any attention to the shields in Chivalry :steamhappy:
Oilystool  [skapare] 10 sep, 2015 @ 10:55
@Rebel That part is not on me, I copied what the original shield did as well. In this case I think it's for technical reasons. My guess it's so the handle fits well with the character animation.
RebelDog 10 sep, 2015 @ 7:22
I'm sorry to say that this shield is not realistic. The design is very cool indeed but the spot where the knight, soldier or whoever holds this shield consists of two leather bands and not a wooden grip. Keep going! :)

A Shield like this is something i would like for the MAA.
Oilystool  [skapare] 12 aug, 2015 @ 3:37
Thank you Jason, but sadly I might have to change it, I made the texture just diffuse, but someone informed me all shields use patterns now,so it could be the look changes when I make the changes.
ThatGuyJay 11 aug, 2015 @ 9:12
Beautiful work Oily! Textures came out super nice!

Finally someone adds a shield, Love the design, although an octagon dwarvish shield is my dream.
Oilystool  [skapare] 9 aug, 2015 @ 23:02
@Raska Deal! that's exactly what i will make,i began to look for reference material and it should not be too hard to make a cool, new billhook.

@Duc I had forgot that they took away the ability of Knights to wield Bucklers,so sadly forced buckler does not apply any more.

@Sir Hardy, that is something ill definately look into the future.

@Gannicus Noted and fixed,thank you.
Thorfinn 9 aug, 2015 @ 13:27
knights cannot carry round shields anymore
Sir Hardy 9 aug, 2015 @ 11:04
Lovely skin, something like this for the Kiteshield would be wonderful too
Sekt 9 aug, 2015 @ 7:25
Also need to convince TB add to knight round and heater shields without forced flail.
Raska 9 aug, 2015 @ 2:36
Rly nice one. If u didn't know what to do next btw, I'd propose a billhook (maybe u could give it a scythe skin). Anyway, keep the great entries coming.
Frank the Fish 9 aug, 2015 @ 2:25
thats really cool, yeah great decisions with this one it makes a lot of sense I really hope I see it in game soon.
Oilystool  [skapare] 9 aug, 2015 @ 2:22
Thank you Frank I made it basically all diffuse. Many of the vanilla shields are all diffuse and TB has indicated to me no real intent to add patterns. Hence why there are no patterns yet made by players in game. If It changes all I need to do is hide 2 layers and its good to go for patterns.
Frank the Fish 9 aug, 2015 @ 2:16
Another fantastic item Oilystool, edges look so crisp, textures work fantastic! have you made any pattern textures for the front, or is it all in the diffuse at the moment?
Berg 9 aug, 2015 @ 1:09
didnt really now you could make shields. Really nice work 11/10
