Please give me feedback if it works or not! Thank you, enjoy! And let's hope for a better workshop!
If you know any specific, even links, I appreciate your help.
Unfortunately, when I exited and restarted the game it deleted the changes I had made. Perhaps thats due to automatically re-downloading the faction file again. I've noticed that before with other factions that I had subscribed, edited some of the abilities, and saved the changes.
I remember seeing similar problems with a few factions (one was one of the three or four star trek factions, another the only vulcan faction) shortly after workshop support was added. Some of the web pages had comments to that effect, so I knew it wasn't just me. New fixed versions were available within a couple of days. I suggest you find out what they did.
I re-subscribed the three factions that I had commented about. Same problem. In each case it downloaded what appears to be the appropriate .png, .faction, and .gc3wsdata files in the faction directory. I have no problem displaying the .png file outside of the game.
The problem appears to be that nothing is copied to the portrait, logos, leaderBGs and leaderFGs directories for those factions (like it is for other subscribed factions).
I copied the three portrait .png files to the portraits directory and restarted the game. That didn't fix the problem. I then edited the ori ascendency faction. The foreground and background pictures were blank, and I have nothing to select. (I noticed two blank images in the list. Don't understand why it wasn't three.) I selected the portrait, and when I saved the changes the portrait was used in the left pane listing the available factions. So far so good.
