I hope the author sees this at some point maybe it can be fixed.

But this mod seems to conflict with the Awesome series of mods and BB's mods. The game starts fine and visually the immersive aspect is there, however there is a bugged out promotion section where they give me no option to set them to alert or defence anymore or even sleep or "do nothing". Making playing extremely frustrating with the mod installed.

I love this mod, I do. It makes the mid to late game plus the aliens look and feel so much better.
But, and I don't know if this is a mod conflict or an issue with the mod itself, it makes the game near unplayable.
It may not happen for a few hours or it may not even last past the loading screen, there, no way to tell, but it makes the game crash out. Sometimes even hard enough I have to force restart to regain control.
All I know is that when I loaded up a game without this one, single, mod in play all the problems evaporated.
I'm going to miss it.

It doesnt work for me anymore it just says every unit is out of moves but they can still move but cant do anything like fortify RIP

Useless comment: I was looking and still am looking for a mod that makes the weather satellite more useful; came across this instead. I'm not installing it, but it looks really good! I think it's a great idea. I'd definitely download this if the "humanoid," or "small soldiers," weren't as crowded. I do agree it's weird seeing 2 units at most, but I don't see why there needs to be more than 8-12 units on the same tile. EIther way, a lot of people seem to love this, I can totally understand why; way to go!

so i jut started a new game and all the units have numerous buttons that pop up on their little id screen in the left hand corner that appears when you click on them most of which do nothing but some take you to the diplomacy screen for some reason anyway the many buttons look like various upgrades for units

it's nice and works fine, but it looks a little crowded. Maybe it needs a little tweaking with fewer soldiers/creatures per unit.

Is it possible to reduce the sizes of units and possibly cities? I feel like their scale is just too big still. Is it a simple line edit in a file or a lot more?

Yeah, this is one of the few mods that you can use safely with Codex. 'Enhanced Promotions' is compatible as well, and I've got some feedback that people enjoy that combination a lot.

Used to work during one game session. Units got rescaled quite fine. I liked it. But after i saved the game and i started the game a day later to continue and loaded the mods the Immersive mod seems to screw the game up. I lose the little screen in lower left corner where i can choose the options for the units.
When i choose not to load the mod all works normal again.

You mean after you load a saved game? That's because the mod does not make any important changes to the database and can be activated or deactivated at any time. Make sure you go through the mod menu and load from there, instead of loading from the main menu (not sure if reloading from within the game works).

If you prefer to have it stay active in any given save file, you can force that by going to:
Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization Beyond Earth\MODS\Immersive Armies (v 4)

Open Immersive Armies (v 4).MODINFO with a text editor and change:

<AffectsSavedGames>0</AffectsSavedGames>
to
<AffectsSavedGames>1</AffectsSavedGames>

This means that any save file that you started with Immersive Armies active does now require Immersive Armies to be active and will activate it automatically.

Thank you!!! I had indeed not crossed "Reload Unit System" which I was unaware of. I am making a rather amateurish mod for myself trying to introduce a little more alien variety and I based myself on your work. Now, after a few turns of play, I get an unhandled error which crashes the game. Hopefully, it can be resolved. I will recheck the XML files. Could it be caused by too much variation from the initial size? Anyway, do not worry if you do not have the answer on such a vague depiction, and thanks again!

You can use the same basic unit model for multiple, differently scaled units, but you'd need to create a second, seperate Art File for that and rename the Unit in the ArtDefine. So if we take the RaptorBug-ArtDefine from my Mod (ART_DEF_UNIT_RYIKA_RAPTOR_BUG) you'd just run a mass-replace (limited to that file obviously) for RAPTOR_BUG into something like RAPTOR_BUG_2.

In the <Unit>-Table you'd then simply enter ART_DEF_UNIT_RYIKA_RAPTOR_BUG_2 as the new ArtDefine.

When the game displays a unit as Marine when it shouldn't be a marine then that means that there's something wrong with the ArtDefine. Either the model doesn't exist, or there's a syntax-error somewhere - or you've just forgotten to check "Reload Unit System" in the Mod Info Tab.

Great Mod. Wondering if I create a new alien raptor bug, for example, and I would wish to differentiate it from the current one; is it possible for the two species to have different sizes and numbers using the same art? I have tried but it invariably reverts me to the basic art for both. Any ideas? Cheers.

so i'm trying to install this mod for multiplayer use using steps i found for civ 5, and it kinda works. all the units are changed, but they're all changed into the standard beginning soldier.

Any chance of a manual install version? I have been using and making mods since the late 90s, and while certainly easier, I've always skipped auto installers and managers like Steam Workshop or the Nexus Mod Manager. Prefer doing it myself. Maybe I'm stuck in the past, idk, but a manual version on Nexus or CivFanatics would be fantastic.

The mod doesn't seem to work for me. I'm using Linux-Ubuntu. Whenever I select the mod it gives me a screen where the only option is single player. Then, when I load the game in single player, armies are not enlarged, and not more to scale.

I'm also having a lot of issues with action menus. Some options appear that shouldn't (clear miasma option with soldier), and some are missing (no button to build expedition with scout)

Hello, I don't know if this bugs occured to anyone else (I am bad at reading, didn't find it trough 14 tabs) but:

- My explorer is missing his action menu, can't do expedition or anything
- my units have weird points of upgrades, two working normally and few looking like missing font, saying for example TXT_UPG_somethingsomething and I can't click them. Any ideas?:)
