If you could describe the break, i might be able to look into it!
I actually used that effect in the skin named Nautilus before, but this effect works better with skins with road (it prevents blocks from being distorted with the background).
I did notice that at some points during a song, the black squares that expand from the center of the middle of the colored squares on the grid tend to be less visible than other times. Just a small problem though. :)

As a bit of a suggestion, I'd give the chains, and barriers a bit of a bluish tinge, to go along with the water theme
