Great map I grew up here in Henderson 1962 to 1996, I am almost finished creating Hemingway Harbor and Las Vegas wash areas, started on Boulder City and Henderson, though the highway junctions I used are not real as far these areas go and the limited assets about this area of the US. I moved the dam area a ways back the canyon really isn't large enough to build realistically, but hey its cities skylines. Nice job though my lake looks pretty good though :steamhappy:

This is a pretty good map of the Hoover Dam area, but... it isn't really Las Vegas, is it? In Fallout terms, the map stretches from about Novac in the south, to the Legion Fort in the east, to Repconn HQ in the northwest. And in real Vegas terms, it reaches from Nevada One Solar to Lake Las Vegas to Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area, and it's centered on Boulder City.

That said, it really is a very good map of Lake Mead and Boulder City.

Thanks for awesome map, I'm having a lot of fun with it.
To make people actually visit my hoover dam, I made national park there :)

you were really faithful to the real thing, played around with this map and google satellite view at the same time. Good work man.

I honestly never tried. But it should be able to without a problem
Leon0803 13 Mar, 2020 @ 11:10am
how large is the map? & is it compatible with 81 tiles?
joseph_anthony_king 11 Jan, 2020 @ 5:20pm
This looks very cool!
WIFIBUN 19 Oct, 2018 @ 2:02pm
A great map, with a really cool idea, I just wish the highway leading into the opening area was wider and further apart to help with a few traffic problems
BTB  [author] 15 Sep, 2018 @ 11:12pm
Thanks for checking it out!

This map is amazing, thank you! Though a updated version with roads already in place to start building would even be better since your good with making things accurate. :steamhappy:

Got to watch Lake Mead fill from the mighty Colorado. Closest thing to witnessing it yourself.
BTB  [author] 5 Aug, 2018 @ 5:55pm
Yeah thats where the lake fills up. Takes about 6 in game years to completely fill up and start producing power
|XG| Lune 4 Aug, 2018 @ 11:10pm
I know this is an older map but you did update it in Feb for physics. Anyway, I placed the dam in the notches right before the water source which worked initially but then stopped making power, and proceeded to flood a ton of land behind it.

Patrolling the Movaje almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter
BTB  [author] 15 Feb, 2018 @ 2:01am
Map has been updated. Should work better with the physics the game has now .
BTB  [author] 13 Feb, 2018 @ 9:15pm
This is a stock map so it wont have any issues with mods
VLB 13 Feb, 2018 @ 5:27pm
does it work with find it mod?
BTB  [author] 13 Feb, 2018 @ 8:14am
Its has been a while since i have worked on this map. Ill see if i can get it updated a bit. Thanks for the info
Trippynet 11 Feb, 2018 @ 8:02am
Dam worked pretty well for me, placed it in the notches as shown in the pictures. Only issue is that the "reversed" water source just below the dam meant that my sewage flowed upstream and stayed there (even once the dam started producing electricity). Used a mod to remove the reversed source just below the dam and now the river is flowing properly again.
ALEXNTFOX 21 Jul, 2017 @ 11:51am
@17 I can't create a working dam, can you add a link to a save with a working dam please?
Ts_AubrieTaylor 28 Jun, 2017 @ 6:04pm
I think you should really change the las vegas valley to a little more green. originally vegas was a lot of ranchers and farmers back in the day. where the whole of vegas is now was farm land and we redirected a lot of water and what not. thats why we get flash floods like crazy now. I just think veggatation is just too sparce on the map.
RaeNut 5 Jun, 2017 @ 6:10pm
nice but shouln't have vegas in title, there are mountains where vegas is supposed to be
BTB  [author] 18 Feb, 2017 @ 10:38am
Haha well dont build in the flood plain.
gashatta 18 Feb, 2017 @ 8:54am
terrible... flood my whole city after building it.. it's useless
BTB  [author] 17 Aug, 2016 @ 7:00pm
Dam placement on this map is pretty crucial for proper function. There is some complex water spawn placement so the lake will fill up in a few years rather than 15. Looks like you got it though! Thanks!
|XG| Lune 17 Aug, 2016 @ 4:53pm
ooh 1600 MW, dude this map is awesome, thanks for the effort you put into it!
|XG| Lune 17 Aug, 2016 @ 2:35pm
Ignore everything I said because after like 4 hours of use, the dam finally is working, last time I checked it was producing half of what it started, btu it seems to be climbing, so I should be fine (rn: 704 MW)
|XG| Lune 17 Aug, 2016 @ 12:53pm
Just figured out why the dam is giving no power, the short part of the river behind the dam that comes from the lake behind it has perminately and strongly reversed..

|XG| Lune 17 Aug, 2016 @ 12:39pm
Yeah I did it how the pictures have shown, It started producing 1300 MW, then the river reversed, dam made no power, then it changed back to the correct direction, however the dam is still not giving any power. Dams in skylines never really liked me though lol
BTB  [author] 4 Mar, 2016 @ 10:08am
Looks good. Horseshoe bend is a pretty awesome place. I'll have to check out the theme and see if it works better than mine
Lemente 4 Mar, 2016 @ 8:27am
Hi, it's funny, I created a map map not to far from yours :) (and a them map to go with it)

I was just downloading the terrain.party file to create this myself. Then I thought, "Someone's has to have already done this." And it's a good one too. Thanks!
MarshallSK 5 Feb, 2016 @ 1:21pm
Ok will try tnx
BTB  [author] 5 Feb, 2016 @ 11:06am
Okay MarshallSK I just ran the map through a test and everything works as it should . When the Dam is First placed some of the river did flow back towards the dam for just a minute then the water equalized and went back down river . Again just make sure the Dam is on the Level notches like in the pictures. Hope this resolves your issue. Anything else just let me knowv
BTB  [author] 5 Feb, 2016 @ 10:51am
Unless an update has changed something I promise you it works. However Dam placement is extremely important because of the placement of certain water spawn points. Make sure you look at the pictures to see where the dam should be placed and I will get on right now and test the map
MarshallSK 4 Feb, 2016 @ 4:44pm
G8 JOB, Huver Dam dosent work tried for 3 hours, the water always changes dirction upstream
BTB  [author] 12 Jan, 2016 @ 11:34pm
I appreciate that 4616melrose! I spent a lot of time on these maps to make sure they were both good looking and very functional. Enjoy!
fereldanhawke 12 Jan, 2016 @ 12:46pm
This is by far the best map that I've built on since I bought the game at release. Kudos to you, burgener17!
CamtheGamer 16 Oct, 2015 @ 5:28pm
Not sure if i should get this or not. I already have New Vegas from Fallout New Vegas as a map and thats kind of the same thing, only more post-nuclear like.
Goiania 9 Sep, 2015 @ 5:52am
The Map is more Boulder City then Las Vegas but ok Great Map
BTB  [author] 7 Jul, 2015 @ 7:54pm
Well you should be good to go now!
Ozymandias 7 Jul, 2015 @ 7:53pm
I don't mind starting over, this will be the third small town I've made on this map. First, Goodsprings was just a bit off the grid, enough to cause major problems later. Better Springs had no resources. Hopefully Bestsprings will be built to last!
BTB  [author] 7 Jul, 2015 @ 7:49pm
Ozymandias you're in luck! Ive been updating this map today and i just added in some natural resources near the starting tile for ya. You'll have to start over unfortunately on the updated map but there you go!
Ozymandias 7 Jul, 2015 @ 6:58pm
I really enjoy this map, but as soon as I made my quiet desert town, I realized that there are no natural resources anywhere near the starting tile! I know it may detract a bit from the realism, but you could put some small patches of oil out in the desert, and ore along the Colorado. Until then, the worthy hamlet of Bettersprings has no reason to exist, and my town will be quiet as a buryin' ground.
Ozymandias 6 Jul, 2015 @ 4:46pm
Thank you! Hopefully my staring town won't end up like Callville.
