The missile is linked to the LCD when it is mounted to the rotor. After the computer on the missile is started, the LCD variable is saved. It is still accessible even if the rotor is disconnected, unless the computer is stopped.

How does the ansible targeting transfer information between grids? I understand that it uses an LCD somehow, but that's the limit if my understanding.

Understood now why the missile may be trashing and spiraling out of control. If the drift feature is used while your missile thrusters are underpowered, this may happen as there is not enough speed to use drift properly. Need some experimentation to tweak the correct math behind this.

Been busy these few weeks, only saw the comments today (11-Jul), probably revisiting the scripts next week. There are some restrictions on what information can be sent or extracted from the blocks. Therefore some intense research is required.

I mean launch them. Laser targeting just has the turrets attempt to fire, Ansible just has the missile fly away, and beam riding does the same as laser targeting.

dosent work only in creative great idea but if you can make it work for players who play on pvp survival servers it be sweet or a walk around to do it !

is it possible to automatically get / feed coordinates to computer by triangulating enemy position from multiple antenna. my idea is to set up a network of small, camouflaged, solar powered relay stations. with broadcasting off they can detect enemy ships without giving away there position, and relay info back to base with laser antenna. a program could use the coordinates of your relay stations antennas, and distance from each of those antennas to a potential target to calculate the coordinates of the target dynamically. i imagine it could than turn flashing red lights and warning sounds in the base. you go to your command station where an LCD screen shows a list of potential targets and you use a pair of buttons to scroll through the list, and the press of a third button opens the silo door and launches the missile.

I hope the devs will make real missle launcher tubes with lock on sounds and hud display. Also some chaff to help evade the missle.

is there any way to make the thing work in survival, by using merge blocks instead of rotors and an other projector to paste the ansible drone and the camera control thingy. just asking, i don't play a lot with crea to survival bluprints.

The only problem I have is that you can't easily remake the missiles without repasting the entire station. This means that it can only be used in creative.

This is just amazing!!! One question, can i use this script to target my custom turrets with the "Turret Targeting" mode? I know about "Ansible Targeting" but it requires a scout drone...

One beam not possible at the moment as it onli gives direction but not distance to target. Will need more experimentation to see if it is possible.

Not sure which LSG video you are referring to, but there are actually many autopilot scripts out there which could be turned into missile scripts one way or the other. This world is to demo the cruise missile script I uploaded on 2 months ago, due to many questions asked regarding how to get the script to work.

How could I make this work with just 1 laser on the missile. Where you launch it off in the direction your flying and that single laser then locks on and directs the missile to the target from there?

Could perhaps the laser antenna be used where the Turret scans and send the data to lock onto target? Just curious it seems like there are some other significant tweaks to the laser antenna that would have to happen for that to work. Amazing job love this

Now that proof of concept has been achieved. The next step needs to be miniaturization and simplifying the design so its easier to build.
