Oooo I love to see that when it's done. I actually did try making one but was having trouble figuring out a layout and just other things. So hopefully yours go better than mine!

Gunna be making a Hydrocity map very similar to this soon enough. You're certainly my inspiration for wanting to make a map like this, so thanks! Expect to be credited for that haha.

I've actually made a Green Hill map on TF2maps. I just don't want to give Steam my bank details to put it on the workshop.
It's old though but I'm nearly finished updating it once I find the pieces I need.

I have to admit, their are no sonic maps on the TF2 Workshop... exept this one! and its a really good looking map. despite being blocky, it looks good. as for the mechanics, they work. i wish to give the TFTubers a hollar at your direction. Thanks!

A little late (I've been on and off) but from what I read a while ago, custom sounds aren't too friendly on the steam workshop? I could be wrong but I've lost the old map files ages ago so the Gamebanana link will be your best bet for now.

Looks like the problem with sounds was due to the map file being renamed to 'koth_aquaticruin_final2' before uploading to Workshop, where it should have been rebuilt with the new name (to update the sound paths correctly). Does that seem correct, or is it something else?

Seems like when we load this map up directly from workshop, nobody gets any custom sounds. The error users get in console is:

Cannot figure out which search path sound/mysounds/s2_itemhit.wav came from. Absolute path is /Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/440/454152123/koth_aquaticruin_final2.bsp/sound/mysounds/s2_itemhit.wav
Failed to load sound "mysounds/s2_itemhit.wav", file probably missing from disk/repository

I'm on a Mac, but Windows users get this as well, and it seems to be for every custom sound in the map. Is this normal?

Alas the link to the template in that thread is dead. Seems I need some sort of .smd files or something.

I even tried the Cashwork [tf2maps.net] holograms 'cus I figure being for download than ripping from GCFScape they may work and could use some formatting, but they don't work either.
(But they do make capping sounds which didn't with hydrocity holograms.)

But I can bring the matter up on TF2Maps.net as I do have other various skinning problems I've been meaning to bring up. And I am thankful for letting me use them as well as helping me a little with installing.

Thank you. And that is what I did, it's just they still won't work. The .VTMs say they require a cappoint_beam_lines_b and cappoint_beam_lines_r so I got them from tf2_misc_dir.vpk and tf2_textures_dir.vpk. But still didn't quite work. Got a few other few VTFs and VMTs which I think relate to the default holograms but yet to work out how to make it work.
I do know a little on custom model reskinning just $basetexture and $texture2 addressing isn't as easy as last time.

And I'll add your name to my credit list because I really like that hologram.

@MysticMonkey I custom made them using the pre-existing hologram files from tf2maps. Just simple edits in photoshop. You can use them if you wish by just opening the map file in GCFScape and grabbing the necessary files.

It's because i put the workshop file in gmod to see if it worked, but i accidentally deleted it. And re-subscribing doesn't do anything

@Zeusington I've considered turning this into a Arena map (and even just a fuck around map) but it's been ages. I have to check and see if I still got the files lying around.I do agree about the textures, though this is what I get for just taking the files directly.
@mysticmonkey I appreciate the offer but I dunno if I'm going back to it anytime soon. It was a small project after all but any I can maybe remake it.
@Lackhuys I don't know. Haven't been on Game Banana in ages. The workshop version should be the same map file.

No need to worry about cap hologram request.

But remember when you said you could only get your springs to just be still static props? Well, I think I figured out a way to have them animated when someone is on them. At least in the map I'm working on mine are animated. If you want I can tell you how to do it.

I've been running it for a few days as an arena map. The layout is great for Arena, KOTH, and even VSH, and I'm a huge fan of using older video game graphics in creative ways. My sole criticism is that the textures are a bit too bright. Perhaps tone them down slightly? Otherwise, I'll be running and nominating it regularly.

Ah yes, I've already got those, but yet to figure out how to import GMod props into Hammer Editor. Same with unique textures with GMod maps that I need, such as the textures used in Logan McClouds Green Hill Zone map.

If you know where I can find a guide, or can help me, that would be brilliant in helping me finish my koth_greenhill map which I've longed put off.

Most of what I got here was from the Sonic packs in the gmod workshop. This one specifically http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=146101487

Though cause of this, most are just static props so they're mainly there for decoration. Though you can do some stuff in hammer to make some of the objects act like they should.
