Roman Provinces Restored

ck2plus has its own system to restore the roman provinces. I might try to create a mod based around that, as the modding for this doesnt seem all too complicated. i'll try to post it once i get it to work.

it works to an extent, but of course, it could use an update because the kingdoms might be a bit messy, so really, updates could help, but i think that it could help

Only complaint I have, since it still works, is that the de-jure alterations don't take into account the changes (relatively) recently made to the anatolia and greece regions.

@fatpancake23 Nobody is more surprised than I am!

Does this mod still work?
TheDwemerComrade 30 Jul, 2016 @ 5:14pm
It seems that you forgot to actually make Byzantium the de jure empire.
Mysza Halamow 25 Jul, 2016 @ 10:52am
christopher0936 who are you to get mad at a suggestion? I don't attack, I'm simply trying to state something that could be done! Now I may sound demanding, and I may need to check myself, but the Orthodox Church was the STATE CHURCH of the Empire! So I think you need to check yourself before you get angry!
Sayle, I owe an apology, and I'm giving it right now. You are a busy person and time is a precious thing indeed. Forgive my rudeness.

@cristopher0935 Your spirited defense is appreciated. There is a case to be made that I should keep the mod updated, but I haven't played CK2 is about a year now and this was always made for personal use that I put on the workshop if other people were interested. It's also possible that map changes since the mod came out might have altered/disrupted the borders.

@masonhg13 who the fuck are you? He's made a mod called "Roman Provinces Restored". Does that sound like "Better Orthodox Pentarchy Mechanics" to you? Make your own mod if this one is so unplayable for you
Mysza Halamow 10 Jun, 2016 @ 5:16pm
I want you to respond, Sayle. You need to fix up your mod to work on a proper standard. The big long post that I posted is something you might be needing to look at. Also, the de jure drift is messed up beyond belief.
MysticKnight 26 Apr, 2016 @ 3:31pm
[EDIT] It seems it was a confliction of another mod, ignore my post.
MysticKnight 26 Apr, 2016 @ 3:00pm
For me whenevr i restore a provinces it only changes the dejure duchies, the previous dejure kingdoms are removed but not replaced by anything

Have you considered the fact that when playing as an Orthodox Christian the autocephaly and pentarchy jurisdictions get messed up? Also, you should put each of the Provinces under a Pentarch, with the Western Provinces being under Rome, the African Provinces under Alexandria, the Provinces of Arabia Petrae and Iudaea under Jerusalem, the Province of Syria under Antioch with Armenia, and the provinces of the Balkans, Dacia, Taurica, and Asia Minor under Constantinople, excluding Ilyricum. It would keep the Pentarchy relevant, and it would be nice. Also, Sicilia and Southern Italy would have to be under Constantinople, as Leo III, father of Constantine V, moved these two areas under Constantinople after the Pope's reaction to his Iconoclasm. This is to help you increase the accuracy of your mod, which is amazing, and I'd hate to have a messup like that cause a little less immersion.
christopher0936 13 Mar, 2016 @ 4:12pm
is there a version of this with the somewhat simplified provinces? ie: https://i.imgur.com/StLMT3d.jpg
Sayle  [author] 30 Jan, 2016 @ 3:50pm
@masonhg13 I assume because the title is being destroyed and replaced rather than substituted.
Mysza Halamow 30 Jan, 2016 @ 11:01am
If I may give a comment, why do vassals under the vanilla de jure kingdoms declare independence when the provinces are formed? Perplexing...
Win746 15 Jan, 2016 @ 11:05am
Would you update this? It's a really nice mod.
Sayle  [author] 18 Jul, 2015 @ 4:42am
@Womaraiv

It does not implement latin names for unconquered areas, although that's certainly something to make note of if I return to CK2. To help you see what provinces there are, though, I've added a list in the description.
womaraiv 15 Jul, 2015 @ 12:07pm
It looks from the map above that the Dalmatian coast & much of Illyricum is part of Italia...? Or are the colours just too close together? Also, why does Narbonensis seem to be part of Gallia? Also, does this implement alternative Latin names for areas not conquered by the Romans but known by them (so we can conquer them with a new Rome)? I'm thinking of (and include game-equivalents for most) things like Dania, Suecia (aka Sweden), Finnia, Norvegia, Sarmatia (aka Rus), Iberia (aka Georgia), Cimmerian Bosporus (aka Taurica), Scythia (aka Ruthenia), Arabia Felix (aka Yemen), Media (northern Persia), Parthia (eastern Persia), Persia (southern Persia), Bactria (aka Afghanistan), Gedrosia (aka Baluchistan), Sogdiana (aka Khiva), Transoxania (aka Turkestan), etc. This mod is much appreciated. I had once laboriously edited the landed_titles & localization files to achieve a similar end and enjoyed that game immensely. This would be a handy way to revisit that kind of play. :-)

can you create the provadence if you are roman but not the emperer of rome
MechaSpaceCaesar 6 Jun, 2015 @ 2:32pm

Lazy Invincible General 5 Jun, 2015 @ 7:17am

Sayle  [author] 5 Jun, 2015 @ 3:44am
No, there are no religion prerequisites.
Lazy Invincible General 4 Jun, 2015 @ 11:18am
quick question, was looking at the code, Do you have to catholic for the event to fire or no? trying to see if I would have to do some editing for my friend who likes to be a Hellene
Ioustin 2 Jun, 2015 @ 5:59pm
Kinda creamed when I saw this mod, I'm gonna try it out when it's finished downloading
Sayle  [author] 2 Jun, 2015 @ 10:08am
@Solofein Thanks for the heads up - that problem has been fixed.
Solofein 1 Jun, 2015 @ 10:53am
Hi,
In your event code you used the wrong global flag for africa.
option = {
name = yes_province
set_global_flag = africa_province
It was supposed to be africa_roman_province I guess.
Or it will be trigger all the time.
trigger = {
has_landed_title = e_roman_empire
NOT = {has_global_flag = africa_roman_province}
NOT = {has_character_flag = africa_roman_province_no}

Btw nice mod.
PS: sry fo my poor english
