in the init field of the 'gong':
this addEventHandler ["HitPart",{_segments=_this select 0 select 5;if((_segments select 0)=="segment_17")then{_ied=createVehicle ["ModuleOrdnanceRocket_F",getpos ied,[],0,"CAN_COLLIDE"];}}];
keep in mind, you will need an object (game logic) that is set to ied to get this to work.

that was my first thought to put pots but there are none in the game and i am clueless about modelling (crashes everytime i try to use the program) so i never got a chance to make one. i may do that with the invicibility at a later date.

Yeah, the gong killed me. Should've read the comments before shooting.
(Though you could just make the player invincible (player allowDamage false;))
Also, where are the pots that need smoking?

tested in dev version: are you using the inventory option or the arsenal option when looking at the ammo box?
