I KNOW the armor looks like that in the game, I'm not hating on you, I just felt like saying that this armor design seem to not make sense in either case. Kind of unnecessary I guess, but whatever.

I will never understand your comment. You should look at the Witcher 3 armors in combat and get back to me on that.

I will never understand this armors design. Why would you make "plates" out of chainmail, the point of chainmail is that it's flexible, simply having chainmail over your shoulders would restrict you LESS than those chainmail shoulder pads.
