Will this mod get an update to fix the nightmare and Golden dog? Understandable if not because you know 3 years since the last change

Unsure, I've not tested them much with boats but haven't ever had that happen. This mod was made before boats were a thing, so their ability to swim at all is based entirely on the vanilla hounds. Presumably, either Klei updated it in a way that broke the mod's connection to the hound brain or vanilla hounds are also bugged when following you on a boat. (They do that with year of the varg whistles.)

yeah, they jump out the water, the problem is when im in a boat, they randomly jump out of the boat and they get stuck, they dont move to any direction, i get close to them to they can jump onto the boat, but they dont do, they dont move, dont attack, dont jump, anything, even if i restart the game they will be always stuck in the ocean

They should jump out of the water to follow you, like a normal hound. As for the sounds, I've tried fixing it a few times but don't have much time anymore to keep at it, unfortunately.

Sumoned Hound does not have any sound effect when it takes damage and bites coompared to hostile hounds. Why there are no sounds ? Can this be fixed ?

The hounds follow the nearest player unless given a large hunk of meat. The puppies will eventually grow up into fully grown hounds, but are only there to look cute until they do so. It just takes a while.

do the puppies stay even though they doont have collars I saw a random puppy following one dog that followed another player though I made them and they hated being followed, she trusted him with her and her puppy, later she returned to me, and the puppy was just 100% gone from exisiting. what do the pupies do exactly

can you make the other color gems change there color or to do other cool things? I know they are rare or harder to get but that would just make them more rewarding to find earn get, the hell hound on the moon world forget there name be cool to have one of those as a hellhound pet, is there a way to turn a hellhound back to base//normal to remove the gem in them doesnt have to be given back just the dog to be normal again I use gem on wrong doggo I had loads of them,

The hounds do attack enemies that you attack or that attack you. For the latter, they won't attack things that attack you if you're in god mode. If you're having problems with targeting in general, it's probably some other mod interfering with companions or combat systems.

You need to feed the denmother either a piece of meat or a morsel to gain temporary access to the collar recipe. However, you can change the config to allow it to be crafted without the denmother.

They are immune to traps. They have the same immunity as chester and if they're triggering traps you have something else that's changing how traps function. The bramble traps also just attack whomever, being an equal opportunity destroyer.

I like this mod, it really helps you to deal with some enemies by playing alone, but i wish the dogs prefer to stay a little away from you just like pigs and don't need to close to you ALL TE TIME. Sometimes they go really annoying when they try to get closer to you instead of kicking the monsters' butts or come too close while you're doing some household things so you hove to find a way not to click on them

If you feed them a large meat, they'll keep their current owner until the next server reset. Otherwise they'll follow whoever is closest.

I summon a hound with a collar and it works fine, the relationship does. For a little bit, anyways. While venturing in a cave with a friend, he had went out of a cave first only to see that my tamed bois were following and protecting him instead of me, the original person who crafted the collar. Didn't matter, we went spelunking again after resupplying. I got my hounds back temporarily and everything was fine. But through the night, suddenly two hounds went back to him again! Is there anything you can do to fix their obedience toward their real owner?

put in some function to control the hounds they are very aggressive and suffer from the same problem as tallbirds (the reason I even hate raising tallbirds) the problem is that they are ridiculously suicidal and considering that they attack practically everything, this can be annoying

add an item or command that stops them from attacking or makes them peaceful with the command especially at times when you just want to run away from an enemy


give them a function of "staying" where they never get out of place unless you give them command again maybe keeping them in the passive they stand like statues or sleeping and when placed in the normal temperament they become sentries or watchdogs

Any mod that messes with the vanilla hound files could cause problems with this one. Past that you'll have to check yourself since I can't compare every mod on the workshop for incompatabilities.

I use some of the visual files from the base game so if they updated hounds too much it could break how they look, though I haven't played recently to confirm that. It could also very well be another mod you have that conflicts with this one unfortunately.

You can configure max hound health, as well as the regeneration rate. Also hound health by default does cap out at 2000, though it's effectively something higher due to the regeneration. They do not have any armor though, and take twice the damage the players do due to how the game's combat works.

Well thanks, but is there option to limit how much hp hounds have. Cause at day 100 if all hounds remains present and alive they have nearly 2000 hp and annoys almost everyone.

I'll look into them deciding to sleep instead of fighting at night, but it might just be them resting due to low health if you've stopped actively fighting. These hounds are meant to be companions, not combat minions. Sort of like Chester or Glommer are. As long as you're actively fighting an enemy, whether by kiting or otherwise, they will keep attention on the enemy you're attacking. If you decide to retreat, they will too. Their real focus is on staying near you, not fighting your battles for you. Pigmen or Spiders are there for that.

The power config option doesn't affect the normal hounds, only the puppies. I can set up something to configure their damage in the next update though. But this mod isn't really meant to let you fight without consequence or to build an army. As for the texture glitch, unfortunately I'm aware of it. Since this mod borrows bits from the base game's hound files, any time Klei updates the vanilla hounds it tends to break this a little.

Hounds are more of a meat shield and a distracting mob than a truly helpful figure that fights. The Ally Hounds are spontaneous about a number of things. At night they end up falling asleep randomly while fighting against mobs, their attention span towards a mob is short, and they follow random players.

Along with that, when the hounds deal damage, they deal extremely minor damage(10 to be exact), the worse of their fighting is that when you're trying to get away while the hounds fight the mobs, they end up losing attention or try to follow too closely with the mob following it. This is all very interruptive, and hard to work around with bosses, and hound attacks.

Also yes, I tried configurating the stats and didn't help with what they do. Plus they got this continual model glitch with the eyes when they are in certain camera positions, the eyes appear as a very dark grey.
